Fantastic watch, got the 051, love mine, best Seiko diver I've ever had. And the best Seiko bracelet I've seen too. When you get one of these you couldn't justify spending 8k on a Rolex, because this watch is so special for it's price point.

That's a stretch as it's not Rolex quality and isn't as valuable but it is without a doubt the best diver in its price bracket. I can never understand why seiko fans, in particular, exaggerate and compare this stuff to luxury pieces. Phenomenal watch, but chill.

Superb watch! I bought the same on a Japanese site. The dial is fabulous in the sun. I would like to find the black dial version. These Seiko are beautiful. Great watch! I have the PADI version and love it. I also had the SLA017 but returned it due to Seiko's famous bezel alignment issue. In fact, of the three SPB071's the AD had, I got the only one that didn't have a misaligned bezel. While I like the size and movement (it ran within COSC) of the SLA better, I much prefer the case of the non-SLA 62MAS reissues! The beveled edge and Zaratsu polishing are gorgeous! I love the sunburst anthracite of the SLA dial but the blue of the 053 and the blue fade-to-black and wave pattern of the PADI are to die for! I like the case back on the non-SLA homages better, too. I just wish they'd signed the crown.

I have same size wrist and recently cut my leather nato down so that nothing folds over and also cut the bit off the back so it's sits flatter and it looks great

Yeah i believe 1 ebayer has them for around 140.00. Truthfully thats a fair price for a bracelet with diashield coating and updated clasp. Im just holding off on purchasing the bracelet because ive heard mixed reciews on the fitment of it at the lugs.

Hi Zero, thanks for the question. They have the same movement and handset. They both have sapphire crystal, and the finishing work on the cases are identical. They wear about the same on the wrist as well. I'd say get whichever one you like the looks of, and make sure you get one from a retailer that will let you return it if there are any QC issues.

Why flip it. How about just wear it. I bought the same watch, I've had it a little more than a month. The 6r15 is running an incredible +8-10/week. Per week, not day.

I have the SDBC051 for 3 weeks, 1st two weeks it was +2 seconds a day, last Sunday I adjusted reset time +1 hour summer time, it went -4 seconds in two days and since then it has gone only -1 second in 4 days - Great precision!

i thought so too but it wears smaller than the dimensions suggest. I have a 6.25'' wrist but it wears fine. Usually wear 40mm or less

Most modern Seiko dive watches have misaligned chapter rings. Many also have malfunctioning bezels. They come with low-beat movements and usually have inferior ‘hardlex’ instead of sapphire crystal. In other words, Seiko watches are a rip off and you should generally avoid them. You can almost always get a better watch for the same money.
