Finally, I have a model featured in a video! I really love this watch, love to ware it everyday, it's my favorite one I go to when out and about the town doing daily activities and wanting a bit of elegance!
I love this newest iteration, of the Seiko classic, "King Samurai," and honestly, I couldn't agree with you more. I feel that this model, on only the stock bracelet, still takes the "value crown." That rugged bracelet upgrade, matches IMHO, the cohesive nature of the original design, perfectly. Really great choice. Those "grenade/waffle" dials, offer a very classy, high-end look. Especially when combined with the ceramic insert. I have really grown to love Seiko, and appreciate all that the brand has done for horology in general. To be honest though, I'm completely enamored by Grand Seiko these days. Especially with their "Heritage Collection." They just produce so many amazing designs. I dream of owning an SLGH005, or SBGH269. And many others as well. I guess I say that, to say this.....those pieces look every bit of their retail cost, but no one would ever look at that "King Samurai," and think that it "only" cost you $600 US. It looks, and feels, far more expensive. What a value. Good for you.... and thank you for sharing it with us
I bought the white dial a couple of years ago, which i love .....but I'm loving this,by the way, apparently the average diver dives to around 35 metres, thanks for sharing
Totally agree with everything you say. I have a regular PADI Samurai (with the cool wavy dial) on a Strapcode, and when I throw it on after not wearing it for awhile, I'm always like "damn, I forgot how great this watch is!" One of the most perfect case shapes in all of watches. I'd personally go for a Strapcode over the LIW bracelet, because the clasp much better, being milled with 6 positions of micro-adjust (which I need over the course of the day). I've been meaning to get a King Samurai, but other watches keep taking priority & my dollars LOL. I'll probably go for the Manta Ray or White dial when I finally pull the trigger. You can find them all day for around $400, if you know where to look. I want a King Turtle too, on an Uncle Seiko Z199 bracelet. Another great review, Big E!
Great job with the review, I think this and the turtle are probably the best bang for the buck seiko divers. This is is a little plain for me, would prefer one with more colour interest.
This is definitely an awesome seiko for sure . It’s definitely an legitimate ISO rated diver so yes it’s definitely a diver watch as are any ISO rated Seiko diver . Not taking anything away from this watch but I own the Seiko SBDC033 Blumo/Sumo and I’d give that the nod over this one even though it doesn’t have a sapphire crystal or ceramic bezel I still think my Blumo beats this watch because of its awesome case design and almost Marine Master case finishing and it’s 6R15 movement as well. With that said though these new king 🤴 Samurai and Turtle watches are definitely awesome 👍🏻💯
I have to agree with the excellent value the Samurai gives Big E. I have the Hardlex, aluminium bezelled SRPB51 which I actually prefer appearance wise as I'm not a fan of the cyclops. Another Seiko I have which has probably more bang for buck is the MM200. I bought it used for not a lot more than a Samurai is these days and it's definitely a notch up on the quality stakes with more comfort on the wrist.
The King Samurai rules over every dive watch at this price point. Nobody anywhere, (with an IQ above 75) would try to claim that any ISO certified dive watch isn't a "real" dive watch. My Rolex Sea Dweller 126603 can do 1220m deep & it laughs at the weak 300m divers that think they're better than Seiko, but these Seiko Samurai watches are FAR better bang for buck. Cheers to watch collectors everywhere!
Great video...I have been on the fence with this watch because the bracelet and clasp in my opinion is just below average from Seiko. You solved that problem, and it looks great. Totally agree...those hexagon links really compliment the case...It is just a shame Seiko just refuses to build a decent bracelet and clasp...great video and watch...
Why do some Seikos say "made in japan" and some say "japan movement"? I'm new to Seiko, just got my first a few weeks ago, Samaria, it says "made in japan", thanks. Actually, I'm new to decent watches period, this is my first decent watch, I think my top tier watch up to this point was a fossil a few years ago bit I lost it lol. Watches just never made it on my priority list, but since buying this Seiko, I'll probably get at least one more
Seiko has factories in many different countries and they source parts from several countries the ones made in Japan were manufactured in Japan others were manufactured in other places. Regardless of where you're SEIKO was manufactured is still should have great quality but a lot of collectors prefer Japan.
@@EricSloferwatchreviews Thanks. Ever since I found this out, it's bugged the hell out of me if it doesn't say Made in Japan lol. I ordered mine from a Japanese dealer, it'll be here sometime soon, thank you for this video, it was a major factor in me buying, and I can't wait to wear it👍
@@EricSloferwatchreviews I got my Samurai and hex bracelet in a few days ago, this thing is awesome. I thought the bracelet might make it too blingy for me, but it absolutely doesn't, the bracelet couldn't look more perfect. I've never been happier about a watch, I'll be wearing this until it rusts off my wrist, I truly love this watch, thank you for what you do 🙂👍
