Been looking at that colour turtle, you are right about them not getting much attention. Love the Roman second language. Seems that is a common secondary language wheel in Singapore ect.
I owned this turtle six months ago, and I sold it. I missed it so much, I actually did a re-buy last week (looks like just in time before prices shot up haha). I'm so happy, it's the best color dial, imho. And the movement is rock solid to boot. There is not much that can compare to the fit of a turtle case.
Just picked one of these up and put it on a black Seiko rubber strap (it's soooooo much better than on a bracelet) - it has instantly become my favorite daily. I'll never willingly part with this one lol. Gonna throw on a sapphire crystal at some point, but other than that, it's perfect as-is.
I have the PADI and Ninja Turtles. Hadn’t planned to buy another however, after trading my anthracite Oyster Perpetual 39 I immediately missed that dial color. Loving Seiko I was thrilled to see they had an anthracite dial Turtle so I bought the J version and absolutely love it! Great review and looking forward to hearing Bruce’s thoughts. And it actually makes a change to have a piece before Bruce as I’ve bought at least 3 pieces based on his reviews!
My Favourite Seiko of All Time! Strange, "Silver Surfer?" Mine got plucked off My wrist by the nose of my Board while Surfin. Of All the Seiko creations, This is Z-22 territory. Great Watch, triggers all kinds of good Memories, Beauty Rob.
Have this watch. Looked at a few color ways and this was my favourite and best turtle ( waiting to see the new save the ocean). The indicies have an almost lite patina vibe to them that looks amazing with the anthracite dial. The chapter ring issue seems to always be shifted to left on the bottom my SKX watches are the same. At the bottom you never notice it. Other than the just ok bracelet the bezel would be better if ceramic because the dial just outshines the bezel looking cheap in comparison.
I got lucky with this model and found someone looking to trade a 009 for it. Unfortunately the turtle case was too large for me so I ended up throwing the dial and movement into a Crystal Times skx case with sapphire glass and a coke bezel. Actually, I think I found this channel after doing some research on the ct case!
@@RandomRobReviews I think it looks great, in some lights the color is really subdued but in sunlight the dial looks amazing. I have an imgur album with a few pictures: imgur.com/a/Lq7hKGn
I have one of those; aligned very well too. Guess I got lucky. Got it because I wanted a Capt Willard watch, saw this one and the sunburst grey makes it so much more interesting. Still haven't found the perfect strap for it though... Horween looks good but leather on a diver meh. Nato's make it too bulky on my slender wrist. Tropic on it looks cheap. Got that same "steal" Watch Steward, works well but a bit boring. Guess I'll try the original MN strap, what do you guys think?
Don’t mean to wake sleeping dogs, but which dial do you favor between this and the matte black SRPE93 with the extra 3 o’clock lume marking? Saw the anthracite pop up on Joma and I’m torn. My minimalist brain feels like I’d have to sell my trusty daily beater (SRPD55), since it sports the same movement.
Most of the time that people talk about misalignment, I have to say that it's so dang minor to my eyes I'm literally like "Really? Come on. Picking nits of nits." That's the case here. It's hardly noticeable. Only if you're really looking for flaws do you even see it.
