SELECTIVE MUTISM From A Mother's Perspective 

I have Aspergers, selective mutism, social anxiety, generalized anxiety and avoidant personality disorder so socialising is very hard for me.

I've had seclective mutism for 13 years and am still trying to find someone I can talk to. At one point I was to scared to look others in the eyes but that's better.

Aww I love this video it gives people such a great understanding❤️ xx when I was in foundation 1 and I think 2 I used to scream for my mam to not leave me and my teacher used to have to pick me up or else I'd try and run to my mam again😂xx

Can I ask a personal question? Did you also have problems with movements? For example, if you fell down, did you use your hands to break your fall or did you end up falling on your face? If you were holding something and playing with it, would it end up shooting off your hands or were you in control of it? And did you use to bump on wall corners and door handles and table edges etc?

Hey mum, ALL teenagers hate their childhood. It is a phase. Don't take it to heart. Until she grows up to be a mum herself, she will go through different stages of relating to her parents - sometimes she will adore you and thank you for everything, sometimes she will blame you for everything, sometimes she will be cool about stuff and other times she will bring up insignificant things that she will blow out of proportion but in the end you will be two good friends. Don't stress! You are a lovely mum, you raised two great children - don't beat yourself up (but the fact you do, just goes to show that you are a good person who loves her kids more than anything in the world.) X
