I have gotten my first cane only a few days now before finding your channel I have just turned 67 this month. I would love to learn how to do this I can see you are a master of the cane I am so glad I found your videos and looking forward to seeing more and if possible learning your techniques . I came here to watch after the jontron vid, but after hearing what he had to say. I am truly enlighten.

"A strike is a block" is a good principle. It is used in both one and twohanded sword fighting. However, this form of "Block striking" doesn't make use of any of the canes advantages. Similar to sword fighting it would be better to "strike defensively". With a simple diagonal swing you'll strike through any attack the swing meets, while making use of the full reach advantage of the cane. A mid swing cane is also much harder to grab.
