More importantly he BUILT his character wholesale He had ideas pre-WWE, not to dissimilar to Hogan with AWA to be honest, and then tested the waters while he worked in ECW When he went to WWF he got lumped with The Ringmaster and working under The Million Dollar Man Sure it helped him get his feet wet with the crowd and a bit of attention via the revived Million Dollar title but he wasn’t happy with being stuck with a gimmick that had NOTHING to do with what he’s been working on for months post WCW Then his King of the Ring match and small feud with Jake Roberts and then Bret Hart came And alongside WCW creating the NWO and Vince had no choice but to This alongside the others mentioned proves Vince is his own worst enemy with “creating” main event stars and their gimmicks Cause he usually initially creates crap (nothing in the case of Roman who just used all the SHIELD stuff and Cena had nothing) or stole what someone else was using or developed (Hogan’s AWA work was all but his character just more egotistical) or he gives them stuff fans and wrestlers themselves hate and fails to get over at all (Rocky Maivia and Ringmaster)

Ehh Rock was definitely pushed by WWE but he got over on his own.

Hell, look at how Seth Rollins is being rewarded for his loyalty to WWE. He had to put over one of the founders of AEW 3 times in a row. Now he's gonna have to put over the guy who is basically the reason AEW was founded at Wrestlemania 40. Sure, he's the World Champion, but the AEW guys that jumped ship are being pushed ahead of him.

@@supesisfodder7427 Austin had already challenged for the wwe title in a historic match against Bret Hart by the time his supposed change came in to play, according to this video, and punk literally main evented and was alone on the cover of the Night of Champions PPV in 2009, his match was the main event over a WWE title match between HHH, Randy Orton and John Cena that night. Those two have nothing to do what LA Knight has done, his rise to prominence was a real work of art that came out of nowhere.

nah Rock was always going to get pushed as the “main guy” from the company since he did came from a prestigious wrestling family, it was just a matter of time as he tried to find his suitable gimmick. But Stone cold’s popularity over shadowed him. Fighting against the authority always seem to work very well

She was pushed because fans kept asking WWE to push her in 2018. Then it became cringe when they tried to turn her into a female Steve Austin. Which began to annoy fans.

But people kept cheering her into bringing her to win the main event of wrestlemania, and then she still got cheered after a long reign as face, which almost everytime means the face champ gets booed in the end. I don't remember a single time Becky being booed as a face, or even getting what chants. Even as Big time Becks she had to struggle to be' booed. Only time Becky got booed as a face was Summerslam 2019 against Natalya in Canada, when she played the heel for the occation. Even now Becky still top 3 of the most loved women by crowd. The great majority of fans never got annoyed by Becky, or else she wouldnt had the career she has. She is one of the few women crowd actually care to see. And after 5 years it's time to stop this "female Stone Cold" thing, she was just a rebel, end. It was a natural consequence of being a tweener. If being a rebel tweener means being Stone cold, well then there are tons of people , Before and after Lynch , who "wwe tried to make Steve Austin". That's not how it works
