I understand what you’re going through. We finally got our 2023 LTV Unity in May, had a wonderful trip planned to NM for June, and now I sit in the hospital with my husband Bernard unsure about the future. Our unit is parked at the house so I can at least look at it every day.
After a 31 month wait, we picked up or 2023 Leisure Travel Van Wonder Rear Lounge in April. You won't believe the power and acceleration of the all wheel drive Ford Transit. It drives like a SUV, not an RV. People have knocked on our doors at campsites wanting to look inside the Wonder. Thank you for the roof hatch inserts. They have really cooled down the RV.
Because leisure travel vans are like hens teeth on dealer lots, you could sell admission tickets on a daily basis for tours and make a fortune. Ps: prayers for your mom
Market will drop like crazy in the coming months. Sales are down 50%. Manufacturers are on 3 day/ weeks. You know this. Pretty sure you already decided to sell....
The rule is: sell when the market is good, buy when the market is bad. I think your LTV is now at it's maximum resale value. Mine is a TB 2020, it would sell at its 2020 price. Dealers are calling customers telling them the delivery date has changed is is much sooner. A lot of cancelations due to interest rates, high prices, change of plans, health reasons, etc...
Brandon, what about keeping it for now and using it as spare room (if you can keep it on your property)…and, maybe, taking very short-one or two night-trips, staying very close to home so you can be quickly available for your mom …also, maybe using it to be close to your mom if she is in a hospital or assisted living or wherever…The last two suggestions depend, of course, on your mom’s care situation…Blessings!!! to you, Brandon,and to your Mom!!!❤❤❤
Definitely trying to figure it out. We are really blessed that her nursing home is around the corner from our home, so we are able to be there often and quickly
I was interested in the LTV Wonder. I was told by my Florida LTV dealer that Ford chassis are on hold if I wanted an LTV it would have to be Mercedes chassis. Have you heard about Ford not sending LTV any chassis in 2023? I’d be interested in renting. My wife is not sold on such a big investment. Perhaps a trip to Nashville to visit my daughter and our grandkids in an LTV is just what she needs to sell her on my dream.
The Transit chassis are not on hold, but LTV is having an issue getting them. LTV will tell you that the wait for a Wonder could be 4-5 years if the problem is not resolved. Unity on the other hand are much more readily available.
We just ordered the 2024 Unity LMB at the show in Toronto, definitely was best in class, Thank you for your blog, we have learned a lot, hopefully the 14-18 months will go by fast.... don't rent it out, people don't seem to care for it like you would
I am out in Oregon, my MB is on order for 16 months now, likely 2025 delivery. We have a daughter in Austin, if we ever venture out to Dallas, I’ll let you know to see about renting or just to meet. Your channel and content is great, very informative.
2023 has brought big changes in the construction market , and with a high schooler our traveling is over for the next few years , we just made the decision to sell our 2022 GD 260rd fifth wheel. Maybe it will find a home with someone who loves it as much as we did. But we will get another RV as things calm back down, Don’t cry because it’s over laugh because it happened .- Dr Seuss . We are so sorry to hear about your mom. After waiting 19 months, we took possession of our 2023 Wonder RTB in December. We love it! They say the Wonder has less cab space, but the AWD and the power is great for the Colorado mountains. Luckily we dealt with an excellent dealership in Albuquerque as they would move us up in line when they had a cancellation. We lost our parents several years ago so enjoy the time you have with yours. I would keep it, what if you were ready to start camping again in a few months? You would have to wait the 3-5 years for a new one! Unless you are ready to forgo owning an LTV and only use the Airstream.
That’s great, congrats on the Wonder. I’m thinking cancelled orders are going to be much easier to get in the future, but if not, the Airstream is fantastic, and we are blessed to have the best of both worlds
I would say sell. Since the lead time to order a ‘23,24 LTV is 3-5 years, you could place the order after selling your current unit and see what happens when the new LTV becomes available. Plus, you still have your Airstream for the short term.
Do you know what the turn around is when you order a Wonder LTV? I know it was about 2 years not long ago. I believe that has changed, but I’m not sure.
Sorry to hear about your mom. This is why many of us turn to RVs after parents are gone and children are on their own. You just happen to be younger, and life happens. I live in Bedford near you, and have always admired your RV. I would sell it but would ask that you sell it at a reasonable price. I'm so tired of seeing people asking new prices for 3-year-old LTVs. But you do deserve to get all that you can as there always will be someone that will take a high price. It just hurts the market for the rest of us.
I would think there would be quite a few people who would be interested in renting it just to be able to see it in person and experience how they drive etc. We finally took delivery of our 23 Unity FX after a 23 month wait. While we waited there was no place to go to even see one in person. I believe you have a lot of people that have been following you for years as they've waited who would rent it. As you said maybe you just rent it to enthusiasts that have one on order. I would at least consider keeping it until you got your new one. Wishing you the best with your mom. We are dealing with a similar situation while getting ready to retire and begin our search for an RV to travel the country with. Your videos and information have been so great in helping us to make the decision. I love the LTV’s. They remind me of the sleekness of the Airstreams. Please message me what you would charge to rent or buy a model like yours.
You will only waste a bunch of money its mint keep it spend the money for brand new on more,longer trips get as much in as you can before old age causes problems i say
I'd sell.....strike while the market is hot. Renting is dangerous as the roads are increasingly full of dangerous drivers and such. Ask any insurance adjustor.
Sell and wait and see if they new engine and 9 speed transmission meets or exceeds expectations. If the new set up exceeds then more folks will want it if not more may covet your older engine. And lastly move over to the dark side with a Transit Gas which you know well. Under zero circumstances would I rent. Way too much liability.
The 6 cyl could be a very coveted asset for sure. Very much looking forward to real world 4 cyl use cases over time. If I rent, it will be through a service like RVshare or the others that do all the insuring and liability.
@@smileyel-abd9984 Yes, it would be a private listing and promoted only to potential LTV owners, vetted heavily. I prob won't go this route, but have considered it.
