Thank you! Obviously it's a disappointment for a lot of us, but there isn't really anyone to blame. We all still had are having an amazing time though! My goal with these videos is to be objective and the information out. A lot of the news articles and posts have been somewhat dramatic, so I just wanted to off a different perspective.
You definetly need to demand refunds!! Not only for the couple days you going to miss from the end but for the countries you missed. If you share your stories to news that could really help!
A lot of people would like a refund but it's not going to happen. We signed a contract at the beginning with the possibility that something like this might happen. The news has featured us in several stories, but there is so much happening in the world right now that we are not really a significant story. This is still the voyage of a timeline though and it will be one that none of us will forget.
@@CruzenTheTube Okey maybe this is bad time to share your stories but I do believe that even tho you signed a contract you can get a refund cause semester at sea don't want bad reputation but you need to get the media coverage first. I'm glad you've enjoyed the trip regardless. It's not just about the countries you go. But I would still fight just for principle (don't know if this is the right word haha. I don't think you have this saying in English)
Joanna Eloranta how is it a bad reflection on SAS what’s going on? Lots of people are going to want lots of things as this pandemic unfolds and the fact is many people will suffer physically, emotionally AND financially through no fault of their own. Even organizations and companies will take hits as this plays out.

Sad to say there might be a part 3 of this :( it’s so sad that you guys didn’t get to have the whole experience that you dreamed of but you still managed to visit 4 different countries whilst also studying - hope you aren’t taking the news too hard
I just heard that the voyage is ending in South Africa! I am so sorry! I sailed SP19 and highly recommend you stay in South Africa for several days! It is amazing and there is so much to do! The bungee Jumping/sky diving tour groups are INCREDIBLE!!!!
You’re so mature, this sucks a lot but you seem to be really level headed about it and I respect it! Sorry about your voyage I hope some time in the future when this blows over you’re able to see every country you missed and more! Stay safe
Thank you! Everyone grieved and reacted in their own ways. I think this series and the story to everyone was how I personally got myself through the situation. I have the same hopes as well! I plan to finish this voyage!
I spent my semester abroad in Ghana, so it is so sad that you will not get to visit. Hoping y’all stay safe with this crazy virus. How many countries were lost in total??
I’m confused how do they take 2 countries off that don’t have it present but send y’all to a territory of a country with one of the highest death tolls. That’s insane
If you go back and watch part 1 and 2 I go through the reasons given. In short, what is known now was not known back then. And their best thought at the time was to get us out of Asia.
Keep the positivity but please keep aware of the virus bc the outbreak in europe is getting crazy and though i say goin to new places is amazing as i went on a cruise last year, i personally think it is better at this time to do as little travel as u can
Thank you! We are still a month away, so who knows how the world will look by then. We have on this voyage not to make plans, but instead to take everything one day at a time.

I see people are commenting about refunds. Honestly semester at sea does not owe any of them a refund because this was not their fault. Only refund they should get is if they book those field trips classes with the teachers. Yea it sucks but no one saw this virus getting this big. At least they are trying to take them to different places.
You're honestly completely right. We signed a contract at the beginning with the very slim possibility that something like this could happen. They are refunding all of the field programs that were though which is great!
Ozan Kement honestly they really don’t because it is not their fault that the virus is going around and stopping people from getting into classes. The school has no control over it. Maybe if the school itself was like no never mind we aren’t going there then that’s when they should give the money back.
caitlyn figueroa they could at least give them like 20 thousand dollars since its not their fault either. They innocently saved enough money to go and semester at sea is a rich company they could afford it.
I honestly do not know. My guess would be that the voyage will happen but there will be changes to the stops. The CEO of SAS is coming on our ship tonight for a Q and A so I'll see if he mentions anything.

So I think the youngest student was 17, but she turned 18 on the voyage. There are a good number of gap year students though, so if you decided to do that you definitely wouldn't be alone.
I’m dating myself by saying I was on spring 1979. I agree that Morocco was amazing even way back then. Please take in the whole experience of SAS, it’s something you will never forget. In fact two of my closest friends today are friends I met on the ship, not to mention a few others...40+ years later. Not everyone has the opportunity to experience such things. They may seem bad now but wait until you look back 40 years...I believe you will think differently.
I'm honestly not sure. My initial guess would be yes since they probably wouldn't have much of a choice due to many countries denying Chinese passports currently.
I don’t think Amsterdam will deny you guys (I’m from there). But the question is: do you guys want to end there? We have over 300 sick people in little over a week... I wish you a happy ending of the voyage tho
Oh good question! So yes and no. We have basically been imposing ourselves to 14 day self quarantines so that we have the best chance of countries allowing us in. There is the fear though that we will have to go through one though when we get to Europe.
The Fall 2020 voyage will probably be impacted but I can't say for sure how. For the 2021, who knows? The situation on the virus is changing daily. By 2021, the virus could be completely gone and cured or half the world might have it. It's all really just a waiting game.
