The carrier had it's energy shields online. But covenant technology doesn't cover koubungas, the sentinels saved huge amount of time by doing so.

Atriox must of talked to the ai and left it since it was not alive. He must of realize it was taken since he does not know how AI's are stored.

I think they did that on purpose. Since the entire carrier had it's energy shield online, it would've saved time by just throwing themselves since energy shields doesn't protect against smaller impacts. Just my theory imo

They rammed it, not hit it with beams due to probably low charge from being deployed already in the quarantine zone.

I think it had more to do with the people she lost than the effort it took her to perform this feat. You can hear the voices - she’s remembering them.

because shes a sentient ai she also can develop trauma like think howd you feel holding the gun that killed your family and then having to use it, also shes not a military ai she wouldnt have the same expertise as cortana or serena

Probably that would have taken more time resulting in more damage to the Ark, though they would have lost less drones that is not their primary concern and drones can be replenished easy.

There are different kinds of sentinels you know

perhaps the drones scanned the ship and found that either it's hull or shields were far stronger then their beams could cut through and come to the conclusion that throwing themselves at it to cut it in half would take less time then it would to simply blast it apart. even if they did use their beams the crew would most likely return fire anyway.

Sentinems can be produced stupidly fast, is crazy how simple drones can destroy a Covenant ship xd

@@user-iy7jo7bq4f So the sentinels are like the lowest of soldiers in the forerunner hierarchy? I mean, all we got to see in the games were shitty sentinels. The enforcer wasn't really that hard either, so if a flood infestation got out of hand, will the Fortress Worlds (the Forerunner word for Halos, they used the word "Installations" as well) produce Onyx like sentinels which are far better than the ones we get in the games? In Ghosts Of Onyx, they are capable of tactics, 2 will fight the Spartan IIIs, and 1 will observe and report back, making sure that the tactics the Spartans use will not work twice. They can combine their beams into 1 beam, destroying Covenant ships (unless I am wrong).

civilian insurgents with AK47's in the here and now can reliably punch above their weight against nations with predator drones. Don't see why the drones having laser guns instead of rockets would change the math much.
