Why can't he see it? is he blind? Is this estate even real? This estate isn't real. Oh no, it's not a real estate (unreal estate) Probably not even free. Gods are tricking you again.
Tawol athodu ek erilaz Owlthuthewaz niwaremariz Sawilagär hateka harja 'Let’s begin. I the runemaster, servant of Ullr, the glorious one, I am called the deceitful one, leader of armies”
Right? I've been through the game before Christmas and was blown away. I'm into PC gaming since Commander Keen and Jill of the Jungle. For the first time in many years, I had that 'first time' feeling again with Hellblade. I have never seen or experienced anything like it before. I've had that with Quake 1, System Shock, Half-Life and probably Unreal and Skyrim - Hellblade is a must-play imho for anyone who wants to see character development in a video game
I finished it this afternoon and honestly it's one of the better games I've ever played, everything is made perfectly, and I'm a bit scared of what they could do with this serie, I want to keep this darkness inside her and hear again these voices that we learn to appreciate during the game ^^
@@hornsteinhof7592 Only complaint I have about it is that it was short, took me around 7 hours to finish, but it was still easily worth the price loved it.
The lyrics are: Tawol Athodu Ek Erilaz Owlthuthewaz Niwaremariz Saawilagar Hateka Harja Translation: Come, guest Tyr For this invocation I, the Rune Master, servant of Odin, call upon the one of the Sun to aid our army This is just part of the song In Maidjan by Heilung, which awesome, and yes, you should totally listen to it. Also, this trailer is just 11/10. I LOVE the sheer insanity and pure chaos in her stare.
This is the translation from Proto-Germanic to modern English: Tawol athodu Ek, erilaz Owlthuthewaz Niiwaremariz Saawilagar hateka harja For this invocation I, rune master Servant of Ođin Call upon the One of The Sun to aid our army
I'll be the party pooper. The first game is become coming to terms with madness, understanding it and its origins. This trailer seems to be about taking the bull by the horns and fighting back against it.
@@slipper1889 Well, it will inevitably have more action than the first game, she's in a completely different emotional state. The real question is: Is she really going to war with the North Men, or, is it going to be like the first game where it was all just her psychosis projecting onto the world around her?. I'm leaning toward it being projection, again.
This is the definition of a perfect trailer. It doesn’t give away the entire plot, it’s interesting, has music that stays in your head for days, and the graphics are phenomenal. Seriously, the music and the graphics are amazing, I’m in love with them.
Had basically never heard of Hellblade until now, nor is it my type of game, but this trailer alone made me want to buy the first and play the hell out of it
@@zubiecup No it is not in our modern slavery time we forgot our tradional musics and our world pagan cultures it is all hijected and altered , demonitazed we call in our ancient pagan days traditional even primartial proto shamanizm some of us call today metal but we don't call it in our ancient days check the Heilung listen them you will understand what I mean to.. - Game soundtract is from Heilung
Midnight Blue I know what it’s from, man. They have videos on RU-vid. Anyway, it doesn’t what it’s roots are. This still has more of a metal feel than most metal songs. Nobody is saying that this is actually a metal song, we’re just saying that it has a metal feel.
"Never forget what it is like to see the world as a child, Senua: where every autumn leaf is a work of art; every rolling cloud, a moving picture; every day a new story"
@@David-ni5hj Not necessarily, but I'm quite convinced you could never get as far as you could with psychedelics. Don't underplay their effect my friend
Fun fact: The song is called *In Maidjan* by *Heilung* which roughly translates to "to corrupt". The chant that she's shouting is something about a servant of Odin calling for aid to war. Edit: That servant of Odin mentioned is supposedly a rune master(hence the runic theme of the logo?), according to the translation of the chant. Makes the trailer meaningful and more awesome because of the details.
Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice is an example of how impactful story telling tools video games are in contrast to movies and tv series. In an era of games forcing gamers to mindlessly grind for dozens of hours, Hellblade was a fresh breath of air that will stay with you years after you've finished the game.
Still amazed at how the actress playing Senua had NO acting experience and almost turned down the part and was one of their dev’s before this. It makes watching this trailer so much better
Yeah she is legitimately one of my favourite video game VA preformances out there. Her palpable fear really helped sell the gravity of the journey/trial she was going through for her husbando
@@itsameah2595 Well I believe in an interview she said that she was terrified of acting and actually used that fear and poured it into the role so you are really seeing someone that's in an uncomfortable and scary situation with real anxieties and fears.
There's something so unsettling about Senua's expressions in this trailer. Yes, it's real and it falls into that uncanny valley a bit, but it's not only that. She's totally deranged this time (not that she was even a wee bit sane last time), but it seems like this time she'll just embrace her madness and wreak havoc. This trailer is incredible.
@@davidtecco6594 *sigh* One of those replies that completely miss the point. The joke is how Senua's psyche and character would "scare" Kratos, not that she would kill him.
@@Milliardo__Peacecraft This was the first game I ever got platinum on, aided by my ability to translate the runes. I forgot about that part as it has been so long. Thank you.
Actually I started playing hellblade after watching this trailer, and now I realise that not playing this game can be a Gamer's biggest mistake, i mean even if you're just a deep movie lover or whatever. But this game is one of the biggest masterpiece in video games.
Don't exaggerate man. I've played it and didn't want to finish anymore. There was not a single moment, where I enjoyed the game. It's a depressing game.
@@energyvanquish Senua finally accepted the death of his boyfriend and the fact that she is different of others people. Hella was a part of here and at the end she accepted the real world and go ahead
I think those of us that empathized with her pain in the first game get something cathartic out of the insane, raging energy of her incantation to Tyr. Schizophrenic or not, she seems less the wounded animal now and more like the instrument of destruction. Sure to be a wild ride. Take my money/sign me up.
See that's what I was wondering am I just a simp for thinking she was schizo? I mean I get it's a game but definetly in the real world she would have to be.
@@gabiblack Well, just because most of what happened in the first game was in her mind doesn't necessarily mean the gods & monsters aren't still real in the game world.
Maybe through killing valravn and Surt she might use fire and deception now herself. im not that sure of what to think about the first game. Beat it in 7-8 hours or something and was kinda annoyed by the searching for runes every second room to open a door and walk every path 5 times, although it has a point in being there.... lol
Everyone: I don’t think a sequel is necessary or can top the first Senua: hold my boyfriends head Senua voices: no don’t trust them, see they hate you, they want to kill us, story just started, no run
FinnMacCool the band eluveitie might interest you and anyone else who may be thinking the same thing. In fact, here’s a taster to get whoever it interests started: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GO8VVJ_j7T0.html They write entire albums in Gaulish and sometimes in English - the former will probably go over most people’s heads but both are great.
A Hellblade movie would be like "The Revenant" but as a straight horror adventure, a film that relies more as a visual experience than a plot-driven story, like Gravity or 1917. It seems that Robert Eggers (The Lighthouse) is working in something like that, a horror film about revenge set in the viking era.
[Proto-Germanic]: "Tawol Athodu : Ek Erilaz Owlthuthewaz Niwaremariz Saawilagar Hateka Harja" [English]: "For this prayer: I, the runemaster, Odin's servant, call upon the one of the sun to aid our armies" - The verse is actually a part of "In Maidjan". A song by the band "Heilung", who create music they describe as "amplified history". It's a group of musicians from Denmark, Germany and Norway. Cool stuff right there.
you know what is more scary? people who suffer from her disease if untreated often do the same faces, that's my experience with a person like her anyway.
December 2023 right now and still absolutely loving this trailer and think its one of the best trailers I've ever seen. Especially with the inclusion of Heilung.
Im replaying Hellblade 1 and I came to see this trailer again and the moment I saw your comment I thought to myself: this is someone who knows things! Any release dates and stuff?
Gamepass has turned into such an incredibly valuable membership. You get heavyweights released on it now. I've been replaying the 1st one lately myself on the One X
@@LonghornsLegend Just hurts when you wanna play a campaign game and you gets on gamepass right after you buy it. Saying it from experience. It wasn't cheap.
Talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show-stopping, spectacular, never-the-same, totally unique, completey-not-ever-been-done-before! This is easily the most badass and powerful trailer out there. I just feel the energy rushing through me everytime I watch this. The actress is perfect for Senua, and she's not even an actress... I can't wait to play this game!
Lmao. I was watching The Hu and then the song from this trailer pops up in suggestions. After watching the trailer now, I'm wondering what the game is about. I haven't had the chance to get into the games (current lack of funds). Who is Senua and why does she seem so angry in this sequel? What happened in the first game? Who's body parts are those? Do they belong to her people or something?
@@LocaChica4ever She was a Pict, and her village was invaded by Northmen who slaughter her village, one of the many who are killed is Dillion Senua's lover, the game sets her on her journey to Hel to reunite with Dillion, I haven't completed the first game yet, also everything in this trailer is meant to be vague, so we are all in the same boat when it comes to being confused by the imagery... I probably got some stuff wrong.
@@idostuff537 a summon which will cost her and everyone in the village their lifes. Calling on a hardcore Goddess like that is gonna have some Problems along with it
The first Hellblade has one of my all time favorite worlds and settings. I’m a huge fan of really dark/hellish lore and Norse mythology, so I’m in heaven with this game.
Eddie Cardwell the narrative was exceptional , but the puzzles were boring and the combat was mediocre . Surely this is not really your favorite game? Here’s to hoping the second one makes improvements.
Anthony Leonardi - The puzzles didn’t bother me, I never found the game boring. The world and story absorbed me. I said I love this setting. I’m a big fan of dark/evil stuff.
The trailler itself should win an acting award. Ninja Theory's motion capture reached perfection! Look at her mouth and lips, eyelids, tongue! This game will be more than a masterpiece.
Gregor Mcscrungus it’s just she has a very big gum line, not her lips stretching. I’ve seen plenty of people with big gum lines that show when they talk.
Just beat the game for the second time. Was really hoping to see her chant like this but was disappointed it wasn't in the game. Nor was that particular giant :(
@@Adam-zw1ck So edgy bro. Your words just cut deep into my heart. You're so cool, hopefully one day if I try ever so hard, maybe,.. just maybe I can be as edgy as you.
I'll piggyback off your comment to plug Heilung's bandcamp account. Their records are well worth a listen and I hope some people consider buying them (even if it's just for the second song of Lifa that's used in this trailer). heilung.bandcamp.com/album/lifa
