I’m personally happy that PC is being removed from cross-play until they can address the cheat abilities. And as far as your comment on turning off cross-play in-game, for me that would prevent me from being able to play on my PS with friends on XB. So NO, they don’t need to revert it until they can confirm PC cheating is completely eliminated.
@@terrorvizyn1043 that’s correct, but measures to significantly limit it can be taken. I work in Systems Engineering and Cybersecurity for a living, and until Gun devs can lock it down better they made the next best decision to remove the threat. All I can say is buy a console of your choice if you still want to cross-play with the rest of us!
@N30WULF I completely understand, and I'm not freaking out over crossplay being g temporarily off. I was only commenting that because you said it should remain off on PC until it is completely eliminated, which we both know is impossible. Perhaps I took your words too literal, but that's what you stated.
@@terrorvizyn1043 I probably could’ve worded it better, completely eliminated in relation to the known cheats. I also think Gun should do it like they did in F13… If enough players report a person for cheating and have video proof of them doing it then their individual account is banned from the game. They could even implement IP banning to block a person from creating an alt account in the same PC. True, hacking can never be completely eliminated, but it can be made very difficult to do.
As someone who plays on PC and plays with a friend who plays on their Playstation daily...that change really hurts. Not sure if I'll launch the game until its reverted. I don't like cheaters as much as the next person, but what a ridiculous solution.
Think of it like this. Why should a console player risk terrible games meeting cheaters & speed hackers when i can just always keep crossplay off? I'll gladly fight for Console-Crossplay, But give me a reason to vouch for PC.
I bought the game to specifically play with my fiancé. We have a PS5 and PC. This is a huge slap in the face by the devs. There could've been a toggle for console only, but to outright remove it; I can't support it. Console solo queues think this is a win, but its the beginning of the downfall of this game.
They're not backing down from the cross play thing on Reddit. One of the devs said it could be WEEKS before it's sorted out, but they hope it won't be that long.
Not everybody reads patch notes or may be aware of the cheating problem. Either way it makes no difference, Either console players kick out PC players them selves or Gun will do it for them.. They chose the most effective option. Cheating on PC is absolutely out of this world in every PvP game.. All games should start taking aggressive action against cheaters because the anti cheats don't work.
So their solution is to just make pc players suffer instead of improving the anticheat? Also you already could turn off crossplay in the menu, this was unneeded. Now we can’t play with console friends and have to live in cheater hell? Lame
There is no improving the anti cheat... ANTI CHEAT DOES NOT WORK IN ANY SINGLE GAME. The cheats are too advanced for these bog standard anti cheats. All these anti cheats do is protect people from really harmful exploits that allow people to take control of your computer like the one that was happening in Dark Souls and the reason why all From Software games since Elden Ring have Easy Anti Cheat. It isn't actually there to stop cheats at all. Most cheaters are on PC. If they just say to console players to turn of cross play then that means PS5 can't play with Xbox and vice versa. So it makes sense to cut off the infected limb altogether. Yes PC players have to suffer because of cheaters because it is the simple case of protecting the many from the few. It is the best option available. What you should be doing is complaining and being more vocal about cheaters everywhere you can and boycotting games that become infested with cheaters or just outright avoiding PvP games altogether.. But to sit there and and expect everybody to suffer with you is just selfish and doesn't address the actual problem at all. . The game was barely playable with cross play on.. It was cheaters every 2 - 3 games anyway and most people seem to agree with that. So why are you complaining about not being able to play an already unplayable game... I'd like their to at least be an exception for If a console player invites a pc player. But I agree with the decision for now to keep the player bases separate.
Sledge I totally agree with you about the removing of of cross play, except they should put a shut Cross play off option . As of now there is no way of shutting cross play off on Xbox.I personally would turn it off. As I did on Evil Dead.
I'd like them to leave the normal crossplay, but just add the option to crossplay between consoles only so that people that play with pc/console friends can still do it, and others that are fed up with the cheaters can just play vs other console users. Should be a permanent solution.
There is no in game option for cross play choice. I would always turn it off simply because consoles at a disadvantage in most games the additional “no cheaters” is a bonus.

As a pc player with an xbox party, this is frustrating and upsetting. We haven't even ran into a single cheater since launch, quite odd but it hasn't happened yet. Either way, we are so pissed we can't game together on our days off until its reactivated, and you put it very well. "CONSOLE HAS A CROSSPLAY OPTION ALREADY" - why not just tell console players who find cheaters to just use that option??
Because as a PS5 player, just as it impacts XB players, the option turns it on or off for all games that allow cross-play on that console. While it sucks for you that people who play on your platform ruined this for you, but they were ruining the game for everyone else on consoles as well. And I have ran into cheaters in matches who force-ended the match, teleported from one area to another, and took control of other players characters. I honestly hope they never turn it back on for PC players, because like Sledge said “there will always be cheaters finding ways around things.” And PC players are the ones who cheat the most!
Console players thinking losing PC crossplay is a positive is crazy. It’s a huge negative for the games longevity overall. Stop licking the devs boots.
These patch notes are myopic. The cross play change is horrendous. I've run into zero cheaters in 100 hours. This is throwing the baby out with the bathwater.
On the real note pc players oncany game should never play with console players mouse and keyboard will always have the advantge and i feel like the game will be balnaced for console players

Can you just unbind keys? Quarantining pc from crossplay is only a bad move because i don't know of any other game that's done that to fix cheating, if it was a common solution, fine, but it's not TCM over corrected on cheating, bhvr under corrects on cheating, but ironically i think call of duty devs have always done it right lmao
Know what's going to happen now with pc being removed from cross play... it'll tank on PC and people on pc are going to be pissed they spent 40 bucks on a game they can't even play with their friends on. When you target a whole group of players your game doesn't survive well not fair to punish all of us that wasn't cheating games probably going to die and its probably for the best can't play with my friends tomorrow and probably for months they better refund us
Honestly detest this opinion.. My immediate gut feeling tells me you're a cheater but I could be wrong... But the idea more people should be subjected to cheaters so a few people can have a less shitty experience comes across a bit selfish. As person who shows the level of cheating I deal with in PvP games all the time I have no problem in believing 50% or more of TCM players are cheating. I was running into cheaters fairly frequently in the short time I played the Beta. That's why I wasn't going to be pay £34 for TCM..
I agree. They just slapped all pc gamers in the face for supporting their game. Most PC gamers aren't cheaters. They should've been more professional and prepared. It's 2023 and they had nothing in place to combat the problem. So now we all suffer. This will affect everyone, except maybe solo queue people who don't have friends.

Its a big L...People wanna play together across platforms. Especially a game like this that requires teamwork. If that can't happen you have less people playing the game which will hurt the lifespan.

That’s not only an obvious reflection of the PC gamers that have discontinued playing, but proved that the majority of players are on consoles, 69% to be exact.
How about you appeal to the PC players that are cheating instead of whining about how this change that is temporary is going to effect you because your on PC. 12:40
