Having already got a couple of Travelers Notebooks I was in need of one to use for work. As I don't have an office job I opted for a cheap and cheerful September Leather option on amazon
I have had a Traveler’s notebook for years used it a lot when i worked in an office, It slipped away when i started a business in the field. I rember there not been many Chaps in the videos i looked at when deciding if i needed a Traveler’s notebook. Hopefully my rambling videos help lol
I have 2 September Leather travelers notebooks and love them! Mine have a wide spine. I have a standard size and passport/pocket size. They are amazing planners and hold up well. For the price you can't go wrong. The more wear and scratches they get the more l love them. Thanks for sharing.
Ive looked at the wide spine and I may pick one up but not sure i want it to be so chunky….. and it will get that way with the wide spine hahaha. The do look better and better with use in opinion :)
I have one of these! I ordered it two years ago and was so impressed I ordered their passport size. I was also lucky to come across some small soft cover Daler-Rowney sketchbooks for $1 usd, that fit perfectly in the passport! Field Notes also fits well.
They are great I have a passport also that I bought before my travellers company passport as it's field note size. I had it loaded with some William Hannah notebooks that are brilliant for fountain pens but the supposed ones were brilliant too.
I ordered the exact same make and model. A couple of observations. NOT criticisms but just to help you make a decision. I thought the placement of the wrapping cord out the spine instead of Midori out the middle of the back flap to be a smarter. Just know when your planner is opened flat, the bulky edge protector (a great idea) will be a large bump under one side. Sadly there are no longer page marker strings which is a miss. The paper and card stock covers of the inserts are STIFF. I may have been spoiled being a Hobinichi Techo user for years and that Tomoe paper is beautiful. They just got out of reach costs wise for this ol'guy. Thanks for making your videos, Man. Subscribed
Yeah thanks for the input. The band on the spine is great and I 100% agree the band protector gets in the way but for the versatility of it I'm happy with that negative.
Thank you, I have. List of things I want to do videos on but want to try them all out before I do the videos on them or I'll be a channel of 1st impressions 😂
Yeah I have a passport size one also. This was an upgrade for work, I wanted the space. But for quiet days or weekends I 100% use the smaller more pocket friendly passport.
Love midori,s i had a passport size foolishly gave it away, but then a friend got me a tan travellers so its all ok, i love yr new channel hope its successful ❤❤❤
Thank you. I've given a couple away too to family, I'm always pulled back to Travelers Notebooks. Not sure what it is about a rectangular piece of leather that makes them so nice to use 😂👍
I was very unlucky buying one of theirs from Amazon, the leather was all damaged &mottled like it had mould on it… luckily they gave a refund without any issues though… glad yours is ok!
I've had 2 from them now and both where great. Sounds like you had some bad luck. I've seen videos or travellers company's ones coming like that too. I guess it's Todo with the leather and how they are stored B4 shipping.
@@manvstationery Yea it seemed like the leather had been under so much pressure for so long that the actual grain had smoothed out in places, giving a horrible mottled look, but like you said, probably luck of the draw! Was a pity though, as I do like how they're slightly longer than the TC ones so can cover larger notebooks better... maybe I'll give them another go in the future!
this was my first notebook, and i tell you what... after buying all of the colors from the midori, i feel like the september leather one was my favorite... it felt great in the hand, held 3 inserts comfortably, and held a bunch of other stuff in it... i only put 2 inserts in my midori, and because of that, i have to use 2 of them for my daily stuff... i always think about going back, but won't because i paid so much for the midori, i have to use them... -_-
Agreed the little extra size one the September Leather is great If you like to stuff the notebook. I’m finding i really only use 1 maybe 2 inserts with a folder for receipts and stuff so maybe i can manage with a midori (Traveler’s company) if i do want the olive lol
@@manvstationery i got an olive from the last drop... and also have an olive from that etsy store... they're both the same except for the little crimp bead that you can always buy and the shade of green... i think the brand is asia vintage, or something like that... i use it for art and pressed flowers, and like it better than the midori olive... the midori is darker/uglier to me... like a dark drab brown/green... the bootleg is a nicer green...
@@GumbiiGrows I like the idea of drab olive. I'm not drawn to it being bright I have a green one from years ago I got before my brown one and it was very very green. I gave that to my wife as it was not for me.
No you don’t. Put your Midori to the side and use what makes you happy. Are you going to put off the joy of using a writing piece you truly like for 30/40 bucks? If you need permission to do this: “do it!” Please. You deserve to feel good about what you use, everyday-otherwise, what is life if we allow our purchases to imprison us?
Thanks for taking the time to watch my video. I'll 100% be doing a follow up as it's my daily work Travelers Notebook now so after a few weeks I'll do a video 👍
Just came across your channel and it seems like good stuff. I’m subscribing, hope it works out for you. Might be a bit selfish but I like seeing more men in this space.
Ive had no issues with them, I’m currently using the ones provided and ordered some cheep ones to test from Amazon. I have just taken one out on my original Midori to test and it fits perfect.
Just found your channel & subscribed. How does the September Leather tn compare to the Midori tn? Are there any differences in the feel of the leathers? Thank You!
Hi thank you for your videos and insight. I’m considering moving from Digital to paper … are you able to provide a link to the notebook that you purchased - thank you in advanced
I've been thinking of getting this model too (even tho I love my passport I find the elastic in the back always to be too bulky) and I think I will do it now lol I just have a question, how does that paper behaves with fountain pen ink?
The paper in these is very good. I've also got a passport version from September Leather and it's also great paper in that. I've only had a problem with one of my very wet pens and Noodles Black bit that's a difficult pen and ink combo for any paper. 👍
No problem i go it on Amazon www.amazon.co.uk/Refillable-Leather-Journal-Travelers-Notebook/dp/B07CNTK4JQ/ref=sr_1_3_sspa?crid=3GTUK4P984Y2R&keywords=travelers+notebook&qid=1697973243&sprefix=Traverlers+no%2Caps%2C109&sr=8-3-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&psc=1
I picked it up on amazon - www.amazon.co.uk/Refillable-Leather-Journal-Travelers-Notebook/dp/B07CNTK4JQ/ref=sr_1_5?crid=S9N58ZISCEVA&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.sdPg9t4QJwZWLnhl4mtK3MVJWRPKqBULeS1BPbCjD3kc8ZtypRvb20Q3ygQx4nh00Sf2gd-eM7nyIZRJCMyfTZarqiPfTjcTvAaR-moGocqda1qhR2o4YzP7UgxKa3tMzcPfehkVi0Fi167jbPblZJMbSgq64ovIQL7cEussDJ4VNL8eSUAsLKRumaFeygywm5mJ1EKy-9T0n_ezbiRZBTyHkawMbQWgeOYLrNiK6ECwDyiyxEuqc4uxLZzmgmGFwFOQEJaP3mm26t2qrz0nMDzyiZ1bJv4UmFylf293ESk.Y1z4Bq80f7RtokDKVcZiuQAlhS6eRWhMB6hAxWiM4yk&dib_tag=se&keywords=travelers+notebook&qid=1714667727&sprefix=travler%2Caps%2C97&sr=8-5
Yeah it's not as small and compact as a A5 notebook. But works well for my planning and notes and random ideas. I must admit it's not for every one though 👍
