It's interesting because Yuu could mean something completely different when he says "saving Mika." He could change everything by keeping Mika as a demon instead of continuing Shikama's plan. If he goes down that road, then it would literally mean that it's him and Mika against the world. Hopefully Yuu manages to convince Mika to follow his ACTUAL desires of wanting to stay with Yuu for the rest of his life.

Because Mika /does/ have his own desires as shown in chapter 93 and he always suppresses them! 😢I’m really hoping Yu and Mika completely flip the script on both Guren AND Shikama. Yu has been pretty clear he wants Mika back as a /human/ whereas Shikama wants Mika back as a seraph- so that’s a pretty irreconcilable conflict…

That first flashback had me going crazy, ITS LIKE THE FIRST PAGE CMON KAGAMI DONT DO THIS TO ME While reading this, there was a red warning sign going off in my head when I noticed Yuu was calling Mika "Mikaela." I was kinda like "oh no guys this isn't Yuu anymore" 😅

There’s a little ambiguity (as always lol) because Ashera is referencing both Yu AND Shikama in that line. The complete line reads: ‘you… no, the /both/ of you only have eyes for Mikaela’ - but I’d argue the focus is clearly on Yu’s obsession first and foremost, Shikama was tagged on as cover lol. And yeah that repetition of ‘Mikaela’ is definitely a sign Yu isn’t in his right mind - I think it’s like a mental separation maybe to protect himself? Mikaela is the demon/weapon whereas Mika is the human part that Yu loves.

@@ARTEMIAZ Yes! The phrase "To have eyes for" doesnt exist in Japanese (as far as I know). He says 「いつもミカエラしか見てないだろ！！」which is "You've never looked at anyone but Mikaela".
This chapter was really good. Also, I get that he's frustrated at being used and discarded, but "you've only got eyes for Mikaela" not only sounds romantic as hell, but also like Asuramaru is low-key jealous of their relationship (him looking at Shikama and Yuu watching over Mikaela hidden behind a wall just adds to that). Also, I wonder if Kagami is actually against Guren's plan. Asuramaru basically states "people who die are supposed to stay dead" and that includes the people Guren wants to revive. I still think that Mika being able to talk, walk and remain means he's not dead in the same way as, say, the Narumi squad or Mirai. Mika is set for a character arc where he wants to live instead of wishing to die, and I hope Kagami follows through with it.

Yeah, I think Ashera definitely doesn’t approve of Guren’s Plan, and I feel like Kagami is critiquing EVERY character’s selfishness so I don’t necessarily think Guren’s Plan will work out either. Ashera basically hates everyone after this chapter and wanted to be independent of everyone’s BS. Poor guy 😢
This chapter was amazing!! Next month is the 10 year anniversary I believe of the series and the last chapter in the current volume, so something big is probably going to go down. I am here for Yuu having his villain arc, yes go ahead commit atrocities for Mikaela. I wonder how he's gonna get out of this pickle tho since Mikaela isn't healing his neck, but he did heal his ripped off lim so maybe if Yuu just goes straight through everyone Mika will have to heal him so he doesn't die. Loved the video I too squealed when Ashera said Yuu "only had eyes for Mikaela" (he was also referring to Shikama as well in that line as well, truly Shikam doji and Yuu are Founder and President of the Mika fan club). Can't wait for your review 🥰
The ten year anniversary scares me, I don’t know what to expect- hopefully a massively important chapter!! What if it’s an info-dump chapter and all the answers we’ve been waiting for are revealed in one go? 🙏 I want Yu to be a compelling character more than anything so I reaaaallllly don’t want him to back down now, even though I’m sure there’ll be consequences coming to him if he goes full villain... The flashback this time was cute and I was kind of surprised that Shikama Doji betrayed Ashera, I thought that Shikama was better than Guren but oh well both of them are kinda same if they are using other people for their own goals. Poor Ashera must be having serious trust issue's right now. Also I did not expect Ashera to fight with Yu, I mean Yu did trap him inside for a while so I guess that its fair for him to act like that now. Yu even offered to save Krul with Mika but Ashera declined because maybe he think's that even Yu might betray him just like Shikama Doji and even Mika is against it aswell. I have a question if Krul is going according to Guren's plan then what about Ashera? Does he have his own plan to save Krul?!
Completely agree it looks like Shika and Guren are very similar. I’m kind of thinking of them both as cult-leader like figures with their respective followers- Guren has the squad and Shikama has the black demons, and it looks like the followers on both sides are equally disposable! I knew Ashera would throw a hissy fit before agreeing to help, after the way Yu treated him, but this is far more serious than I was expecting. 😅 I definitely didn’t foresee Shikama completely betraying Ashera either, like wtf? I have no idea if Ashera has his own plan… tbh I feel like his choice here to fight Yu is from stubborn refusal/frustration, because he doesn’t trust either side anymore, not because he has a plan of his own to save Krul 😢
I LOVED this Chapter, it was so god damn fire! Of course, at first, I had hopes of getting a flashback/background Story of Lest or Noya, but this...this was awesome^^ Haha, I like how you first say: "His greate bullshit plan" and than you are like: "Ok, as long as Mika lives, I'm ok with whatever happens", which of course, is Shikamas Plan, so aren't you in fact on Shikamas Side? Anyway, the fact that Ashera is now making his own decisions and is fighting Yu/Shikama, is a really great development of him, as I see it :)

Hahaha don’t expect logical consistency in my reacts, that’s what reflections are for 🤣 In all seriousness tho, I hope Yu can find a third option because Shikama wants seraph Mika and not human Mika back…😬 Ashera is one of the characters I respect most because he’s always pushing for the importance of thinking critically and when he learns new info, he adapts in a logical way (something the other characters… aren’t too consistent with 😅) Ashera distrusts Shikama when first being reunited with him, then gets his memories back and goes along with the Plan to capture Mika, but as soon as Shikama treats him poorly he joins the dots- and rather than give into Yu’s temptation, he recognises Yu is insane and probably trying to manipulate him too- so instead Ashera says ‘fuck you all’ and decides to do his own thing. It might lead to him dying, but I respect him for standing up for himself.
The fact that Yuu can look at Ashera’s desire really make me think what Yuu is. Also, we noticed that most black demons drank Yuu’s blood. However, Ferid drank Yuu’s blood as well, can he be a black demon? Also, it’s strange that Mika should have known Shikama’s plan was to revive angle Mika when he looked at Yuu’s ancient memory. He also knew that Yuu was created by the eye ball. Was that eye ball our Yuu or just a random one? It’d be fun if it turn out that Yuu is one of the key so he must die, then Mika will go crazy against humanity and Yuu will be like “Great! My family will be back and I can be with Mika in the heaven”.
Ohhh interesting point about Ferid! I always assumed a black demon had to be ‘turned’ with Yu’s blood (like Mika was turned full vampire with Yu’s blood, he was only a half vamp from drinking from Krul) 🤔 It’s driving me crazy not knowing what memories the characters remember and don’t remember! Yes I think if Yu will be harmed under Guren’s plan to get a key out of him, that would definitely prompt Mika to agree to fight on Yu’s side. I’d rather that Mika want to fight for HIMSELF but as long as Mika and Yu work together to get themselves out of this mess, I’ll be happy.

I want Shikama’s plan only insofar that it brings human Mika back and I do not want Yu to be sacrificing himself for either Shikama or Guren! Our choices are so bad 😭 it’s a shame that the option of ‘let the dead stay dead’ and leave Mika alone as a floaty ghost so he can stay with Yu isn’t on the table. That would probably be the most sensible option, maybe? 😅

You never have to apologise 👍 I’m going to do a segment on Ashera and why he’s the king in my reflection- this chapter made me realise why I like him so much as a character. 💕 I will be very sad if he dies. I think it all depends on what ‘devour’ means- Yu said something to Mika before: ‘I’ll devour you and you devour me’ and obviously they didn’t die 🤔 Maybe it’s like being possessed but in reverse- instead of the demon completely taking over, the host gets complete control over the demon’s will and power; so it doesn’t kill them, more like absorbing them? I’m praying Ashera will live!
