This chapter was incredibly fascinating for me. I was under the assumption that Angels originally intervened in mortal affairs during the biblical era so I was expecting something along the lines of… The Garden of Eden?? I dunno, I guess I was always expecting to get a flashback to the past, perhaps sometime during the epoch of Cain and Abel? Or perhaps during when the first Human Settlements started coming around, sooo somewhere around… Mesopotamia?? But I never in a million Bajillion years would’ve thought that we’d go so far back as the age of the DINOSAURS!!! Which raises the question: If the Angels started their civilization as far back as the Jurassic Period and humans hadn’t yet come into existence. Then does that mean that angels truly are an extraterrestrial race? And if so, is all the magic we see in this series just supposed to be some sorta of hyper-advanced technology from the ancient past that originally descended from the Angelic civilization, and slowly degraded as the world evolved due to being used by mortals who had no idea how to make proper use of its functionalities as a result of its complexity and alien nature, as well as dissonance from its angelic progenitors? Also, the Angels we see flying around in the city are of the same breed as the ones that attacked the First in the dreamscape during Yuu and Mika’s battle with him. Which might hint that this specific type of Angel is a security force of some kind, or perhaps a guardian or Sentinel of some sorts. Another thing to note, these Angels all have flames instead of actual heads. Though on closer inspection they may in fact be the Raw Essences of the Angels themselves flowing out from where their heads should be as looking back at chapter 108 at panel 26 or 25 when the angels blow their Trumpets and start singing you can see what looks to be 2 glowing wisps resembling eyes light up within their black fuming flame heads. So maybe they just have no need for proper physical forms like The First or Mika? Or perhaps they see taking physical forms to be a burden or even a sin since doing so seems to give them a proper sense of individuality and emotion as shown with Shikama and Mika. Or maybe taking physical form is seen as subjugating oneself to the flesh, and lessening oneself to a level where romantic attachment and the feeling of Love can affect you. Who knows? All I’m sure of now is, that Shikama, and Mika by default, clearly aren’t the same type of Angels as these ones, as they possess 6 Wings while these Police Angels only possess 2. Perhaps Shikama and his son inhabit an upper position within Angelic Society and are given unique privileges and special accessibilities that others of their kind do not have. Which could explain why Mika was allowed outside city-walls and why he and Shikama are the only ones allowed to have a proper physical appearance and by extension free-will. 🧐 I dunno, I’m not sure what any of this means, but it does prove something. After all these years, finally… we’re getting answers.
The garden of Eden was one of the possibilities I thought of too, or Big Bang- I’d heard the dinosaur theory but I was like ‘surely not’ Regarding the angel’s nature I suppose it all depends on what you consider ‘extra terrestrial’, which is still pretty murky! If they actually originated on earth, in a way that makes them the true inheritors of the earth before humans came along. I love your explanation of the ‘magic’ being a result of bastardised technology though, that’s amazing! I’m leaning towards Shikama and Mika being a higher tier of angel compared to the ones we see in angel city- I really like your idea of them being a security force. I saw a theory (credit to @kittie_aupa on Twitter- she does reaction videos too on RU-vid, ‘Kittie in ons hell’) which I loved, that Shikama is actually the creator of humans rather than god (he says in 113 he hasn’t /created/ enough to create sacrifices to bring Mika back), and therefore if the angels belong to god then it makes sense they would be compelled to execute humans as the product of Shikama’s sin. I’m personally wary about doing too much theorising at this stage myself, as I’ve spent a lot of time on it in the past. I feel like we’re still getting questions added on right now rather than answers, and it’s a little frustrating, but I hope the actual answers are coming! I would say dinosaurs is jumping the shark, but by this point I'm so deep in that I'm like, whatever, yeah, bring on the dinos, this is a normal escalation for this manga. The meat of the chapter is at the end (and the "tag" in the title was either present Mikayuu going after their past selves OR Seraph Mika looking for eyeball Yuu, who hid inside the lizard). Now, how did Yuu go from eyeball to human? If Mika was involved, was this what caused his coma/execution? If Yuu really is the eyeball, then their bond has been around for millions of years, and whatever connection they forged is strong enough that they can still communicate even after Mika "died". Side note, the angels we see in the city lack human faces, instead looking like flames with togas (somewhat biblically accurate), but Mika and Shikama do look human. I'm not sure if this means anything or connects to anything, but I wanted to note it. Another thing is the ton of shadow eyeballs in the City. Is each one a separate being, or are they all the same (Yuu hive mind)? It would explain why Yuu can keep coming back from those eyeballs after being killed over and over.
When this manga ends, we will always look back in fondness at the day that the dinosaurs appeared 😂 I’m definitely towards the hive mind theory regarding the eyeballs, like they’re all a part of some godly entity? Small demon Mika in 104-ish had a vision where the black smoke blob things (eyes?) were all connected/resonating. It was when he was fighting Yu for control, just before Mika enters Yu’s heart and sees that massive eye inside him.
I really love this chapter, but I still wonder what happened to Guren, my Shinoa shisuta imouto-san/my true true main waifu, her Squad,& the Vampires. I can't wait for the upcoming chapters of my childhood Seraph of the end Vampire Reign Series.
I don't mind the dinosaurs. It's ridiculous, but I had a good laugh. It's understandable that some readers are disappointed though, however I'm interested because of how back in time the seraphs are; I mean, most of the time the ancient beings in stories are related to ancient human civilisation or were deities. (I won't call them gods because of confusing terminology here, does OnS world have a sole creator of all life, or is it like mythological concept?) To take it so far back is a bold choice, and I like the funky towers. Besides, who knows? Maybe we will get to see ancient civilisations and maybe the angels had a hand in creating mythology (and pyramids) after all! Also I think this one was the most revealing chapter after 118 was done and for once I'm not angry at the ending/lack of content. The eyeball(is that really yuu though? Am i supposed to believe that?), the angel city and Mikaela will keep me happy till next month, hopefully. Lastly, your videos are great and fun to watch! Have a great day!

We know it existed before the extinction of the dinosaurs, and Seraph Mika was alive on earth and apparently part of that civilisation before being killed 🤔 I wonder if the extinction is going to be revealed to be some apocalyptic event to do with Mika/Shikama?
if I had any predictions for this chapter it would not be dinosaurs, in fact I despise dinosaurs. MY HOPES WERE SO HIGH FOR THIS CHAPTER and then dinos?? Like ok kagami, why. I wanted ancient Egypt so badly, i stayed up all night excited and hopeful for ancient Egypt. And then… dinosaurs, I’m not even joking I actually cried when I saw the Dinos. ANYWAYS OMGGGGGGGG MICHAELAAAAAAA THEY ARE PERFECT I DONT KNOW WHAT THEY DID TO THAT LIZARD THING BUT I AM HERE FOR IT!! Honestly I would spend 100 million years to bring him back to life as well. I feel your pain 😢I guess it was kind of hinted to be something non human in the last chapter, but I was hoping for ancient Egypt too! 🥲 I’ve never been a fan of dinosaurs either tbh 😂 yes it was amazing to see Seraph Mika alive in this chapter, so pretty too! At first glance he seems just as kind and sweet natured as current Mika. Really curious as to how it all went wrong and why he got killed 🤔 Hopefully next chapter we get more information on angel city and the dinosaurs stay tf away from the plot 😂
If Yuichiro is that eye, then doesn't that mean he's not human, & also if that's Mikaela's past doesn't that mean, the ancient city have something to do with the Seraphs?
Yeah we were told earlier that Yu is not human or demon but something else entirely- I think it’s when they fight the sixth(?) trumpet? It’s so mysterious!!

I don’t understand why we read a lot of running panels?! Whats the purpose of them? Are we going to learn something by their footsteps i feel like 1 month is wasted at the moment the only think i liked about the chapter is the alive seraph mika.. and thoose eyes look like the eyes we saw when mika was a small demon am i right i might be remembering wrong tho.
💯 I definitely felt like there were a lot of wasted panels- the running and the eating really didn’t need to be there. I think it’s telling that I managed to cut down this reaction to 6 minutes when you compare to other chapters. Alive seraph Mika was amazing! As usual, Mika is doing the heavy lifting to keep us engaged 😂 the reveal of the ancient angel city is also really interesting to me! More and more questions..

This chapter was so random and instead of things finally making sense, I’ve gotten even more confused 😭 Also is the shinoa squad still alive? We didn’t see them for 3 months now. I just hope they explain what’s even going on at This point in the story
Yeah it was quite heavy filler, but the introduction of angel city is really intriguing to me! You make a good point, Angel Mika definitely looks more feminine than our usual Mika! I guess it makes sense if the angels are genderless ☺️
