Guys calm down.. This was a positive comment. its really amazing to see 3 African Americans in a WTA DOUBLES FINAL. Lets also add SERENA and MADISONS final to that equation too. YES AA tennis players are really doing it this week.

@@emmanuelezenwa1749a) no its not. B) we know its was intended as positive but that doesnt make it less bullshit just as much as the need to create "fake diversity" which funnily enough is mostly black people caring only about themselves and their skin colour.
@@peopletvrus don't apologize. Ach nix is being an idiot. It wasnt long ago that black people were excluded from tennis and Serena and others still experience a lot of racism. It IS great there were 3 world class black tennis players in one game.
So great to see three amazing black women in the finals here. Townsend and Muhammad make a super team. Hope they stick with each other and go for the Olympics.
A black women has been dominating women’s tennis for a very long time. Black men have been dominating sports for a very long time. Who cares what their skin color is. You must be a “progressive” who claims to hate racism but makes comments and has views of people based off their skin color.
TJG, as a black man and tennis player, I have to disagree with you here. You made a huge assumption about who is a progressive. If skin color does not matter, then why call Andrew out? I too was happy to see these 3 black women in the finals. Let's celebrate blackness, not call people out with ad hominems who recognize our presence in professional tennis events.
@@tjg801 You're wrong. I am someone who believes that it's absolutely vital that everybody in society have healthy role models that they can identify with. Tennis still largely lacks diversity, especially at the top. It isn't just a race thing either... Way to try and find a negative out of a positive comment though dude.
I can't tell u how happy I am for Taylor. She already looks in much better shape, focused and motivated. I'm expecting a big year from her in singles and doubles
Serena's known Taylor from when she was very young and actually was a big defender of hers when the USTA wouldn't give her a wildcard for "fitness" reasons
Martin: It was wasn't it. I was kind of shocked in how genuine it appeared. Not accustomed to seeing that pleasant behavior from her. But easier when you know it was just pretty much a practice match.
She already had it. Made Us open quarterfinals, after beat Halep same tournament, then went on to be the only person to take a set off of Andreescu. I love Taylor, but she most likely will never make another GS QF in singles again
Kacio Marcell Muhammad almost hit her with the ball the first set when she did a overhead slam, and she didn’t apologize or hold her hand up, to say it wasn’t on purpose
ALL THAT MELININ! Okay! Just for a moment I just wish Venus was playing with her sister.. Serena is so happy to be passing the torch. Im looking for great things from Townsend this year!!
I'm sorry but, there is just way too much curves, ass, atheletism, swag, strength, bounce, Coa Coa butter, smooth glowing natural oiled skin, god like lambs wool, blessedness on that court
@@Ben31Son yeah she does know Taylor Townsend better. Remember Taylor made her US Open debut years ago playing against Serena in a night match. And Taylor plays more singles.
I would of loved to off seen Wozniacki and Serena take the title. Just for the fact that Wozniacki will be retiring after the Austrailian Open..Plus I do love Serena. Townsend and Muhammad played a solid game.of doubles tennis though and deserved the win
Serena was tired but nonetheless Taylor's lefty serve and thunderous returns combined with a masterful doubles player were on full display. They played against an amazing and seasoned doubles team. They had 6 break chances but couldn't convert.
This was WOZNIACKI's final DOUBLES match before she retired and how special that she got to play with her best friend, Serena Williams. After this match, Wozniacki played her last SINGLES match at the 2020 Australian Open where she lost in the 3rd round to Ons Jabeur.
I was acquainted with Ms. Townsend from last year at the U.S. Open, but Ms. Muhammad is brand new to my observation. In any case, these ladies combined their drive, energies, and talents to create a winning strategy against two of the WTA's best. Hopefully this will be the beginning of bigger things to come in the doubles world for both of them. Very well done ladies!!!
Agree! Caro first to retire, then eventually serena and venus will too. To carry the torch is mighty, through decades of joy and pain, but one thing for sure, the ending is absolute.
Whether Serena and Caroline knew Asha or not, it would’ve been a nice gesture to hug her at the end of the match. The fact that both Serena and Caroline hugged Taylor but not Asha speaks volumes. You’ll also notice that Serena had no verbal exchange during her handshake with Asha as well, so something happened prior to this match that caused Serena to give Asha such an artificial pleasantry. Serena wouldn’t have done this without a good reason.
Young birds have answer for legendary serenawilliams.I am very sure she is proud of them.Taylor and asia are her seed. She planted like naomi Osaka, Sloane Stephens, Madison keys and many more.I love all of them shine.
Venus always better partner to Serena ... nobady else... waiting one more doubles match with Venus in Australian open... Serena don't disappoint Venus fan's... good for 2020..
I wish Serena could have gotten a few hours in between her finals. They put them back to back and she really didn't have time to rest, maybe 45 minutes to an hour later she had to play the doubles game.
4 minutes from these highlights were from first 2 games of the second set... wtf wta? On another note , it was a beautiful final , great net game from both teams and congrats to both ladies Townsend and Muhammad.
Townsend was definitely the leader of her team and took command of this doubles court. Doubles is so different than Singles and the spins, overheads, touch shots, and forecourt game are just a class above the others on this day.
Great play from Townsend/Muhammad, really impressive at the net. I love the decision to go at Serena on a deciding point - her first serve return direction is more predictable than Caro's and they felt good at the net. Many of the points focused on Caro - better angles and lobs from her, but less power. The ladies just shut down the net.
It’s wild how many people are commenting about the skin color of the people playing. As in how amazing it is to see black skin all while claiming to be against racism all while making comments based on skin color alone. Who cares what race the people are! The people who claim to be against racism make decisions based off of skin color more than anyone.
a lot of it. she has always looked lovely to me. whatever choice a woman decides its good for her because her mental and power are calibrated equally. i am counting on her for most of the decade
So happy to see Taylor win a title. She is so gifted. But I need my Venus/Serena pairing back. They would have dominated these girls. I hope the Williams sisters make the olympics this year.
Its been a while since i saw a ladies doubles team, play the dubs as it should be played... up at the net, and it looked BEAUTIFUL, this girls gave a masterclass. Towsned obviously i knew but never hear of Muhammad... is she a vet? young? doubles specialist or plays in lower level? She allways looked in position, hit a very clean ball both at the net and from the back and seems to have a great movement for how tall she is, great balance. Want to see more of this two for sure!
@Sailor moon 8883 i know but she was awful tonight, shoot an ailing Venus would have done better.I know Serena will not be doing anymore doubles with her after this.Wish her all the best on her retirement
Didn't know who Asia Muhammad was before this, but I bet I know now. That girl's got some insane doubles skills; great anticipation. However, like I said, too bad Venus was injured and not able to be Serena's usual doubles partner in this. No disrespect, but those ladies knew to hit a lot of balls in Caroline's direction, for sure. Congrats to Taylor & Asia! Congrats to my girl, the queen, the GOAT, Serena Williams on the singles title! Let's get it at AO, Serena. You've got this!
Taylor Townsend is an amazing at the net and her solid play forced Serena to overplay points at times. Caroline's net play improved throughout the tournament but was not strong enough against Townsend and Muhammad's aggressive net play. Caroline's serve was too attachable as well. I was hoping Serena would carry the duo to victory, but I don't think she had the energy after winning her 2 hour long singles championship. I hope Serena gets some rest and collects her 24th Grand Slam title at the Aussie Open 2020.
I all fairness to Serena she has been on that court every single day of this series and has had no rest. I'm sure she's exhausted. Those girls had a lot of time to rest.
@@RichTake you must have been bloody blind when she was huffing and puffing after winning wimby, couldnt even jump to greet her team. denial wont change that
@@isobel64 And Taylor is always huffing and puffing. Within the first few games. I mean I don't understand your argument. If she is "supposedly" smaller than Bartoli why hasn't she done much then? Why isn't she fit, or has made it deep into slams? You're basically arguing that she's bad at the game. Pliskova has been known to huff and puff around the court until she actually got fit, and she's always been skinny. Maybe "lean" wasn't the right term, but she should get more fit.
That was so cute at the end. TAYLOR said I like your outfit and I think she asked for it lol but Serena probably said not yet lol. Moma with the baby lions. Great match even though Serena was obviously tired.
