Sergio has mastered the art of deflection, setting in preset excuses in case he show up and underwhelms, and focusing on the negative sides of bodybuilding. Us fans want to hear how life in Dubai is and how your current life is doing and your upcoming progress towards shows. Yes bodybuilding isn’t perfect but we we’d like to hear a positive narrative from Sergio for once!
Respectfully honestly hard to watch anything with Sergio in it - he lives in this “what if” or “could/should be” world and overall too negative nearly toxic. Bring Stu/ Ian back plz great vibes!
I love this podcast, however it’s only 20 minutes in with Sergio and this guy is such bad energy it’s not even funny. He is not good for the podcast. Excuses, complaining, pessimism for days on en end nobody wants to be around that.
agree. 30 mins in now and guy/paul can’t even get a word in because sergio is so pessimistic and his ego just tells him to talk about himself all the time
I’m a big Sergio fan but that point about classic guys not wanting to go to open is BS. Some open bodybuilders just can’t wrap their heads around the idea that not everyone wants to walk around looking like the Michelin Man. Some people just like the classic or men’s physique look, and that’s why they compete there. And there’s nothing wrong with that.
100% I personally feel Sergio is a top notch BBer but he underates his own ability & lacks overall confidence in his ability to place well in each show!
But youre saying that open bbers look like shit by design of the function of that class. Andrew Jacked looks like a michelin man? Samson? No. Classic is structure. Cbum is an open bber that went to classic. And his structure is conducive to classic. Buuuut if cbum wanted to be an open bb he wouldnt require much to kick the open guys asses. Let him eat a bit more prepping for the Olympia and hed come in at 250-255 and be dominant… sure you can have open genetics and chop yourself off at classic. But you wont be good most likely.
That's what post show is for all athletes, excuses or explanations. Welcome to competition. If you'd like I can give you a list of historically good shows to watch since you're so new and green to the sport.
I think he has a heavy vibe. I don't think it is necessarily what he says or how, I think some people have a heavy vibe, which make others dislike them.
When i went to the Arnold for the first time, out of all the bodybuilders at the expo, Sergio made sure to give my friends and I his undivided attention and got very personal with us. He's a great ambassador for the sport
@@cencil6497just think he's very genuine. Some current BB's who weren't even competing at the show were big disappointments talking to, just seemed like they didn't care. Sergio chatted with us for like 25 mins holding up his line and even said whats up everytime we passed paths at the expo.
I have to agree with this. I met him in the Olympia 2020 he wasn’t competing but I met him in the lobby and he was literally the nicest guy I encountered all weekend. And out of everyone he asked me for my name and everything. Made it feel very personal . He’s a great dude
Love Sergio but he needs to drop the negativity for once and for all. He uses way too much energy worrying about what people on social media think. Block it out brother, your career in bodybuilding is too short for you to put your time and effort in to things you can’t control.
Paul’s cookie thing had me dying. Ranges from 2-4 to a whole sleeve. Just have to press a little and then he just admits everything. 😂 Honest to a fault.
"My wife knows when I am going fart because I cross my legs" hahahahahahahhaah Paul is hands down the funniest guy without trying to be funny at all. Love Paul on this show
Man I would love to meet Sergio,,,if he only new I meet his dad back in 85. Sergio came to Miami after he’s ordeal, and he was the most impressive bodybuilder that I have ever seen in person. He told me to take finaject, that came in 50ml bottles. I used to work then in a gym at the hotel carillon in Miami beach FL, and the owner was a very good friend of Sergio from Chicago. The guys name was Allen German. Anyway, just I thought I share the story, since it was one of the highlights of my life when I was involved in the sport. He was my favorite bodybuilder,he was Cuban and I am Cuban, so there you go. Great podcast Fouad.
Wasn't Dave Fisher from Canada? He won the North Americans in 91 or 90 I know he was on musclemag at least once. Whatever happened to him? He was pretty damn good back in the day!
I was just in India to see the Taj Mahal, and they literally have trucks that say “horn please” on the back because that’s how they know someone is coming up in their blind spot. It’s like they use the horn to say hello 😂😂
At Cracker Barrel, you have to get grandpa’s country fried breakfast with the chicken, fried chicken and hash brown casserole. Then get some pancakes with apple butter and whip cream. But you have to get the hash brown casserole for sure.
And then wait for the massive acute inflammation; and then die 20 years earlier than necessary with pain and aches all over bc of a childish diet since you couldn’t control your food addiction.
I worked at Cracker Barrel for almost 6 years and the stars are based on time with the company, passing computer tests, and getting performance reviews from management. Haven't been but 2 times in 6 years since I quit and I might need to go back now hahaha
Paul claimed to be a bodybuilder because he simply practices healthy nutrition and trains hard. But how would it differ from something like a mma fighter? They both put in a lot of effort, eat well, and bulk or cut. The distinction is that the other fights as well. Therefore, it would only be appropriate to refer to someone as a bodybuilder if they actively participate or are training with the intention of competing.
That's why we have insurance for wrongful deaths in accidents. If you are charged with something that's different and felony charges are involved with jail time. Misdemeanors usually are no jail times besides minimum holding until initial judge hearing.
Sergio is a good guest and always provides an interesting perspective, not sure why there is so much negativity in the comments towards him. It feels like they're projecting their feelings onto him and judging him based on their perception of him and not what he was saying during the podcast.
It’s almost as if Sergio enjoys living life being annoyed and constantly waiting for his opportunity to prove a point. Never happy with anything. Even tho he has a great physique, his mindset is not mature enough for bodybuilding
Couldn't get into this one, as someone who doesn't know any of his backstory or have a preformed opinion, I found Sergio's demeanor/personality very off-putting. I'm sure the next episode will be great again!
@@ryanziolkowski6743 haha ok, you're obviously entitled to that opinion. I don't know which "we all" you're referring to, because some of "us" (the viewers) obviously aren't big fans of his. Welcome to public discourse, where it's ok for people to have and express differing opinions. Personally attacking and trying to subdue anyone whose opinion differs from yours is a slippery slope.
I've heard so much negativity about Oliva Jr and wondered why; where does it come from? Twenty minutes in, and I can see why. Not the most easy going or pleasant personality.
It’s this simple. Either you are a professional body builder or not. A bodybuilder that isn’t a pro is still a body builder. Many people body biuld but aren’t professional
Sergio says Paul isn’t a bodybuilder because he doesn’t compete and what not but yet he says he didn’t get to live a normal life because he was bodybuilding before he got his pro card in his 30’s?
My mother and her friend was killed in an accident. No charges and no man slaughter. I was told you have to Knowingly break the law, like run a stop sign, stop light etc.... but just an accident it's nothing but an accident.
I enjoy bodybuilding, I’m not a bodybuilder. I eat my meals, train hard and love the progression. Never competed, never will. So I generally say I love bodybuilding but I don’t compete.
I read a story recently .. just to help! The dog can be sent with yiu on a private jet which is cheaper than putting it with you on the plane apparently! Its like 8 grand or something and stopped half way for the dogs to go to the toilet!
AAAAND the 2023 RBP Award for most complaining and excuses goes toooooo…….SERGIO! Congratulations, we’re also giving you the 2022 and 2021 award, and preemptively the 2024 award also! 👏
Meet Sergio when he Guest Posed for Chad years ago…I did Security for a had plus took care of the Pro…I picking Sergio on Friday at Airport, and took him back to the Airport on Sunday….I ate every meal with him, we talked constantly and trained…We talked about his Dad, I was an Officer, and Sergio didn’t want to be Famous because of his Dad but knew it will always be there. Sergio was a true Gentleman, loves his Fans, he comes alive on stage ….I want him to Win the Mr O to be like his Father , then to win a 2nd to be better then his Father not to beat his Father but to be Sergio without the Jr.
My husband takes care of me and the kids but he gets his workout time and i do everything i can to do things for him. He deserves it. Theres more to life than just work. Being miserable is no way to live for anyone.
To Guy's therapist story, a good therapist is not supposed to share their opinion that way. They're supposed to lead you to the right answers yourself by asking good questions and offering various methods of solving certain problems. Imagine someone came in to treat depression and suicidal ideation and the therapist would say - ah, you shouldn't really go on living.
Guys the UAE is nothing like Kuwait. Yes the percentage of liquor was once assigned to your salary. That is now old news. Alot of the old rules are now that...old 😊
I don’t understand the Sergio hate that I see. He’s nice, he’s funny, down to earth… you gotta make him a semi regular fouad. Him and Iain together are great!
Imagine thinking that’s someone couldn’t possibly be THRILLED to have Chris Bumstead’s physique, and that they would always want more? Open bodybuilders are very delusional in thinking the entire bodybuilding fanbase wants to be them. Other divisions exist entirely because this isn’t true. There’s a reason Classic is so popular, and it’s not because everyone is just failing as Open bodybuilders. It’s different goals and visions for a physique.
Hurt me when Fouad said "I did that" (19:25) referring to paying an athlete to take a year and some off to build... Knowing who that is and how things ended :/
