this is a video of the service vehicle soon light for gm light cars,most commonly mistaken for the service engine soon light, these are common and thought id do a little video as it confused me when my scan tool read no dtc codes

how do I get my high beams to go at a higher voltage so there brighter because when I would turn my lights on the green light icon would come on and now it doesn't and my lights look dimmer

I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand Am and watching you video and the same problem ...... When you press the gas pedal revolutions are increased up to 4000 ppm and the rate stands at 40 m / h .... and when the machine warm up after an excellent all works .What do I do ..... Thanks ..
I have a 04 grand am & the dash/cluster lights wont come on,ive checked fuses ,relays etc & cant figure it out. Anyone have any clues or heard of this? Thanks! The trip meter light does come at night,& oil change light,but thats it
Additional information. The lights are in daylight driving all of the time which accounts for why I have no tail lights or fog lights. Also, the 1 amp fuse for the instrument lights was blown, I put an new fuse in and it also blew after a few seconds. I replaced it again with a 15 amp fuse and it never blew. However, the lights still did not work. I am going to change the multifunction switch tomorrow.
Joe Thanks again on That ABS Problem that i had on my GT Grand Am issue all it is the plug that plugs into the ABS it was dirty i cleaned it out and nomore light on in dash
Crazy! I have a 2000 gran am gt, when I first stick the key in ignition switch, the normal bell and lights do not come on, but the car starts, but i have no AC or my windows won't work, after sitting for a couple of Min or driving a couple of min my normal startup lights come on and go off like they suppose to at startup, when this happens AC returns and windows operate normal....REALLY CRAZY!!! any help would be great...I did buy a ignition switch (waiting to install) yes i had to change blower fan resistor and blower fan..that problem is solved....but this one?????

I have a 1997 grand am GT with only 55 thousand miles on it. I noticed small things like the drivers side window works very slow , I know what to do about that. But this sunroof that does not work. Anyone know about this problem.
what about the service engine soon light it came on a couple days ago, haven't noticed anything wrong with the engine. should I be worried. by the way I have a 2002 pontiac grand am gt THANKS!
I had this problem as well but I just wasn’t tightening my gas cap all the way😂 the gas cap makes it so hard to turn but you have to go until it *CLICKS* it even tells me on the gas cap 😂
My car doing the same thing...Question is that expensive to fix because i just had a new used motor with 50.000 miles 5 year warranty installed so i know its not the engine runs fine. Also im new to yr channel thanks for posting.
Mine does too the check engine light soon I think is to change the oil and the service engine light is more of the transmission this is what I believe and now I've done both changes to the car and can't turn the light off with the ODB reader is what I've Been Told
hello Joe i have this issue with my hazard flasher it is clicking noise continuously when driving but as soon as i use my turn signal it will stop and work normal and as i turn off the signal it goes back to the clicking noise again, i did clean the turn signal switch about 3 months ago, i turn it on today to turn left it started to smoke could this be the issue of the problem and Not my BCM - body control module this unit is costly $ 400.00 Canadian.i installed a Brand new 4 way Hazard switch today.
Newfie Led Man most likley its a shorted multi function switch its really the only thing that can cause it, bcm failures are more normally a full signal inoperative thing.most times cleaning it is not enough it just has to much material taken off the contacts and wiggles to much

Hey, my problem is my signals on the dash sometimes comes on and off, my head and tail lights aswell. Is it my switch going bad or what and do you think this can cause my service light to come on aswell ?
Yea, I had this light come on and spent a couple of hours chasing DTCs for the engine and chasing what I thought might had been a misfire... Then I realized it said "vehicle" instead of engine, so I started chasing body codes, then I saw this video and punched my computer screen... well, not really punched, just a tad bit angry because I too have a headlight out... I have 1996 Grand Am. three hundred thousand plus miles started and drove everyday for four months one day wouldn't start. sometimes it will start sometimes not. battery is good starter good fuel filter good fuel pumps working....I'm lost. also battery light on dash stays on until I put in natural and bring RPM's up but it just comes back on after a couple minutes. ETS light stays on and oil light to. leaks no oil and has plenty in it.
+opal adams a diag of the a charging system is needed , check battery connections for corrosion and the alternator main connection for power is actually a fusible link near the starter solenoid so if there is any issues with low voltage and starting issues i would definitely check connections at the starter ( disclaimer be safe and disconnect batter negative terminal of you battery before handling any wires that connect to battery to avoid arcing and potential damage to your vehicle )
Does your fan blower work intermittently how about if you have electric widows do they e dry now and then. I had this problem with my service vehicle light kept intermittently going on for two years found out it was the ignition switch was bad
Hey Joe, I have a 2000 Pontiac Grand AM and had a diagnostic ran on it because it was losing power and cutting off on me. The diagnostic showed it needed a tune up, coil pack housing, bosch oygen senor. I got the first two but did not do the oxygen sensor. The car is still cutting off and when I press the gas it kinda jumps into gear. What could be wrong?
mabee the car is stalling out. If the coil packs are bad. you might not be getting the correct amount of spark to keep the engine running. if o2 sensor is at fault then it mabe carb up with deposits and the sensor is not sending the correct amount of air fow/fuel mixture info to the cpu to keep the car running the way it post to.
check the connections at the coils to make sure they not loose. heck even disconnect them to see if any white powder corrosion is on it which will also cause bad connections.
The things listed are ideas as to why , fuel pressure regulators are pretty bad as well for these issues , the jumping into gear could just be a cause of all the performance issues causing a really low idle
I had this issue with a 2004 Impala 3.8 it would turn off after 2 miles and I would wait 5 minutes starts back up I had a bad ICM Igniting Control Module dealership wanted $425 , Autozone $150 I got a used one for $11 at a pull and save with no more issues..
@@JoeTheAutoGuy i have the same issue though my abs light is on as well. Now in BACK on tbe bottom i have 2 light out. There not part of tail lights but they are down ware the fog light would be in front . Could this be why my servise car soon light is on ? And my abs is a seprate issue? The date 1 -29- 19 Oh my car is 2000 grand am .
all i did in the video was have the ignition on and then start the car multiple times to show how the car triggers the light , not sure what your asking

JoeTheAutoGuy on my cluster the red “brake” light comes on like the ebrake is engaged and it’s not. Any idea how to clear that one? Also your saying it’s just the headlights causeing that light to come on or any light? Like an interior door light shit like that? Or just headlights. Sorry for my ignorance. Thanks allot
no service vehicle is different from the ses light on these models and the emissions or evaporated system(that relates to proper gas tank pressure and venting ) falls under the service engine
