In this video, Josh takes us through a full service for a Dyson Ball Vacuum Cleaner. We thoroughly examine the machine's, interior, exterior, and brush roll to get it back in pristine condition for our customer. We also go through filter changes and blow the canister out. Great video actually, very in depth and informative too. I service the dyson hairdryers amongst other makes, but never been asked to service a dyson vacuum cleaner until today. I've never worked on them so i was curious as to where all the filters were, how the brush roller was assembled and what was involved in the service. I am going to service one, like you pointed out though why have a service and not change the filters, i mean why would people do that? Money obviously but its false economy. Here in the UK the filters from Dyson would be around £75 and my labour would be around £30 which is still £50 cheaper than sending it off to Dyson for the service. Not sure what the cost would be for the filters elsewhere in the world but I surmise it would be cheaper than here in the UK. Anyway bloody good video, thanks 👍

Hi Jeff I have dyson smallvall upright .I have seperated the top plastic brush cover which usually swings . Can not get it back on

Glad you got this fixed. I think my next vacuum won't be a shark or a dyson. I have never had a dyson but they never interested me. I want to spend more money next time and buy something that will last and can be serviced.

We note the "suitable for medium and long hair types only" caveat on Dyson's description of the ball 3. Has Dyson joined the pitbull hate crowd???

In all serious no we have not. However, the unit appears to be a combination of the upper half of the DC41 platform which they have been rebranding for over a decade and the head of a DC50 which has shown up in a number of models as well as their stick vacuums. Perhaps we should preemptively predict the failure points on the ball 3 based on our experience with these two designs?

@@vacuumsrus I was curious as I have read the Costco reviews but most do not know how to adequately use and or maintain a vacuum. In fact many people just buy a vacuum from Costco because they know if they beat it up or if it fails then they will just take it back for a new one, another model, or some store credit.
