On Oct. 10, Seth Meyers, Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert weighed in on the unfolding tragedy in Israel and Gaza on their respective shows. During the times of crisis, late night hosts often provide perspective and a little hope, but even they struggled with what to say amid the devastation. "I will not pretend to have any answers as to how to respond to a crisis like this," Seth said, while Jimmy called it a "heartbreaking situation."

The atrocities of October 7th (look it up if you've already forgotten) ensured that the people Hamas uses as human shields will be paying a heavy price, while its leaders sit in luxury hotels in Qatar. As for "Palestine", look for it on a map. It's not there, because pieces of it were seized by Arab contries around it, who are NOT giving the territory back.

If you compare it to the present-day borders, you should notice that HALF of that territory is now part of Jordan, and the Golan Heights portion of it is now part of Syria. Yet SOMEHOW the people still calling themselves "Palestinians" are not demanding any of THAT land "back" now, are they? And we know why that is, don't we! @@stevecarson4162yes of course the Hamas attack was awful and it's even more tragic considering the music festivals attendees skewed more progressive and multiple prominent pro two state solution Israeli activists were killed or kidnapped. Regardless of the victims political leaning it's still horrible detestable acts of violence. The IDF has killed and injured far more Palestinians and Israel controls the flow of goods and people in and out of the occupied territories as more of their land is taken over by settlements. Palestinian farmers growing olive trees have had bulldozers roll up and destroy their farms and have guns pointed at them if they so much as protest. Palestinian children requiring medical care outside the occupied territories have had to wait for their papers to be authorized and died while waiting with parents sometimes receiving the approval after their child has already died. Families have been forcibly evicted because their land was somehow sold out from under them, moved to wherever they could, then a generation later are told that land was also sold out from under them. I know there's cockamamie excuses for why it's not "their land" and justification for what I've cited but it's garbage and a distraction from the important thing of how the hell is this kind of shit - your elderly father getting his knees blown out by a sniper for getting a little close to a fence or your child dying because of apartheid red tape - supposed to make you not easy to be radicalized when Hamas rolls through?

This narrative is really what you want to believe, but not what is actually happening. The land called "Palestine" never belonged to "the Palestinians". It was never a country, and the "Palestinians" were never the citizens of it. It's a territory that has been occupied for centuries by a variety of different groups, none of which had any claim of ownership of it (except Israel, who has records of the land before century and even Islam was even made to exist). When the British Mandate was over, this territory came to an end in a failed attempt to keep rival factions happy, the land was divided among them. More than HALF of what was formerly called Palestine was immediately annexed by Jordan. (Notice how the "poor Palestinians" aren't asking for any of that land back? Funny how that works....) Of the portion that was left, what is now Israel was designated for the Jews, Christians, Druze, AND Muslims who still live there today. (And contrary to what the ignorant seem to think, there were Jews living there throughout. They did NOT all just arrive from anywhere else.) The remainder of the territory, including Gaza and the Golan Heights, was to go to the Muslim population that didn't want to live with Jews. They refused to agree, insisting they should get the whole region, which was never theirs in the first place. So what happened? Gaza was seized by Egypt, and the Golan Heights were seized by Syria -- and the "Palestinians" got nothing. Whose fault was that? Do we see the "Palestinians" fighting with Egypt, Syria, or Jordan to get THAT land back? No, of course not! Why is that? It's because most Arab groups hate the Jews even more than they hate each other, which is plenty. And a question for you, you are welcome to look it up, what does the name "Palestine" means and what is its source? I'm not gonna feed you the answers this time though, you'll have to go and learn. If you yourself agree that it was a territory that had numerous owners why would it be logical to take the most recent and longest owners of the land who have been there for generations and give it to Israel who don’t even have ancestry to that land unlike the Palestinians who are more closely related to the Jews who used to live there than the Jews who live in Israel who mostly came from Europe. The history clearly sides with the people of Palestine as the rightful owners of the land and Palestine does not prohibit Jews from living in their land or anyone who has lived in that land unlike Israel who doesn’t allow the people of that land to return there if they are Arabs under the right of return laws.

1. The land was COLONIZED multiple times and the only time it was not was by its native people. 2. The natives are Israel, you can fact check that with that history you clearly know so little about. History doesn't side with anyone, History just exists, like Mathematics. (more about that in section 4) 3. When Israel took their army out of Gaza's strip, they didn't just dragged their (partly unwilling) people out of their homes and farms (which stayed behind for Palestinians to use) - they even dug out the graves because of previous things done to graves by non-welcoming nations. There is not a single Jew in Palestine not because "a law prohibits that", but because it is not safe and they will be killed and worse, just like LGBTQs who are sicking Israels help for shelter (there are many articles and statements about that, just go read). 4. So... When the land was first call Palestine and why? Around 1800 years ago the land was colonized by the Romes, taken from the natives (Israel's Kingdom). They than proceeded by calling the land Palestine as a reference to Israel's enemy Philistines (that tried to kill them all). This was 500-700 before Islam even existed, and 700-1000 years before Arabs from Arabia immigrated by WAR to Israel's colonized land. 5. If picking up a history book (or googling) is too much of an effort, Yoseph Haddad is an Israeli Arab with a very unique background that speaks about this subject on YT and around the world, who engages in conversations with Palestinians and Palestinians supporters (it's documented, just watch it).

@@tigress1girl 1. I am claiming that Palestinians are native to that land due to their ancestry to the people of that land. 2. Taking troops out of the Gaza Strip was meaningless. Israel due to its Zionist base has and will always aim to completely overtake Palestine. Also Jews could live fine in Palestine if they opposed Israel. Also if we want to talk about exclusion than why are Arabs exempt from the right of return laws? And no duh Palestinians hate Israel however only a small percentage of them would do something like digging up graves and that is no different to any other group in the world. If you want examples of Palestinians displaying that they can be inclusive than what about the JEWS and Christians that were fine to live in Israel for generations before Israel existed with Muslims even holding the keys to this day for the oldest churches in the world in Palestine. The original proposal put by the Palestinians was a one state solution as it always was until the Jews refused and then things changed from there. 3. Some of the Jews were driven out of there homes by Rome but the same number had left either prior or earlier to Rome due to the greater opportunities there. 4. If picking up a history book is too difficult than I encourage you listen to a podcast from Mohammed Hijab who provided a brief history of Palestine with a guest, absolutely dismantling any pro Israeli arguments.

They raped women and murdered babies. Bodies being recovered now have been showing people were tortured before being slaughtered. And NOW we're supposed to feel sorry for the people who claim to live in a country that doesn't exist, because even all the Arab countries around them don't want them. If Gaza is a prison, it's because it's full of thugs who have spent decades now, hiding behind human shields, while they lob missiles indiscriminately into Israel, hitting schools and hospitals. They didn't care. Did they think there were be no *retaliation* to this latest disgraceful savagery?? The territory is going to be completely destroyed -- and they have only "Hamas" to blame.
