Hey Seth, was an amazing match, from both of us! I really think this game should've been yours, 3:0 in fact. I was lucky to get a few lucky breaks at the end that allowed me some time to adjust to your placements. You've hit every strategy and tactic I used in this video, and this is an amazing opportunity for people to learn and develop their own game! See you next tournament:)

Hey Sharon! Yes it was a great match, the luck usually evens out in the end, I’d say that was true in this match as well. It’s hard sometimes to see the strategies during but after I reviewed it I was able to see what was going on, next time I’ll try to adjust better and be ready for the new tactics you will throw at me ;) Thanks for the nice comments and I’ll see you next tourney! 💪📈

Hi seth, im enjoy watching your videos for a while because you remind me of myself when i was evolving my game, i still play pro in my country but im maily a coach today so i thought il give you my take on the game. You are right about that he untisepated your fh cross court, i think you need to mix some to the middle especially when he changes tempo, because you like to play fast you like crosscourt, also you are very predictabe in your serve and receive game, he flicks all your serve, you need to mix some fast underspin to the middle to make him uncomfortable, and some short wide to bh side underspin to make him guess, you can also make him flick slow from the fh by some short kick serves to play fast bh cross right after. Because you like playing fh you should try to receive more to fh because they always play cross when surprised, and almost every time you chopped his serve to the fh you won the point. In the rally if you target more middle you will get easier and less angle aggresibe balls to play fh after, i hope i gave something to think about, you will get him next time.

Since we are all just trying to improve, the wins and losses are not as important as we all emotionally feel they are. Your game is on par with many 2600 and above players and your rating will reflect that very soon. Everyone has a limit to what level they will get to. For me 2250 is the peak (not bad but speed and age are limiting)Your talent and athleticism combined with a never ending quest to improve, will get you to the 2600s and a contender in all national tournaments. You're right on the brink and your fans on this channel are rooting for you. Thank you for all you do for our sport!
@PechPongTT
@PechPongTT 2 года назад
Thank you for the confidence! 2250 is a pretty strong level! Like you said I feel a lot of improving has a large portion to do with being physically strong and quick. I have no plans to stop trying to improve so hopefully I can make it to a 2600 steady level, much to learn and practice :)

I think the addition of the time stamps is great! Also, I thought your serve receives very amazing. Especially his backhand sidespin serve into your forehand. You hacked into the ball and gave a lot of sidespin back, into his forehand. He coulndt handle it!

Awesome content once again Seth! Nice work with the timelines as well. One thing I would like to suggest is that sometimes when you're talking through the tactics, you could pause the video and show us the tactic in action and tell us "Here it is!" I feel that it would be something everyone would easily learn from and if anyone's taking notes, you will make it easier by showing how it's actually done. That would make a lot of difference in my opinion. Keep the videos coming!
@PechPongTT
@PechPongTT 2 года назад
Thank you, yes I agree I want to do that with some of the tactics I’m also worried about the flow of the match as some people like to watch a match as it is and dissect it for themselves and maybe this would mess with the flow, that’s kind of why I tried this hybrid approach, I do like the idea tho and want to find a way to incorporate it without disturbing the flow of the match

Good job, I think you are progressing well against him. I agree you were too predictable and great players will pick up on that faster than others, I believe eventually you will be able to pull off the upset and beat him someday. I'm learning more about my game by watching these high-level matches! Thanks for the video!

Great insights and match. The time stamps are a cool idea! For the drill, I have a couple of questions: 1. Are you hitting "loops" (creating top spin), or is it mostly flatter driving? 2. Distance from the table, you appear both to be about a half step back and stay at that depth; is this to have room to loop, but not too far back? 3. Is it best for each player to avoid hitting too wide? 4. Should it start with a serve and 3rd ball loop or just flat hit over to the oppenent? Thank you for your time and any insights you can provide, Cameron
@PechPongTT
@PechPongTT 2 года назад
Hi good thoughts, yes we are making small loops every shot, and we try to hit it not too wide because maybe it’s harder, when we get better I want to slowly increase the angles because that’s where the game goes in matches. And we are half distance because that’s where you normally get into these kinds of rallies 👍👍

Good game . It seems that you always try to go long asap and that your trajectories make the ball come out behind the table. You could try play short and get him to stay over the table. Some opponents tend to receive the serve and go back quick and you can catch them out if you go short. You could try and go really wide sothat the ball doesn't come out behind the table but goes out by the sides of the table - both backhand (out to your right on his side of the table ) and forehand ( out to your left on his side of the table) - you can then travel them from one side to the other to exhaust them during the match - or at least the ball is outside of their reach .
@PechPongTT
@PechPongTT 2 года назад
Wow very good thoughts! I like the wide ideas I did that against his backhand serve and you see I won all those points when I pushed wide off the side to his forehand, and as for playing the ball short, Sharon has owned me in the past short so maybe I was reluctant to go there but maybe it’s time for me to revisit that tactic and test his skills close to the table more.

Yeah, those speedy, shoestring, slice, fishing-lob saves just trying to stay alive until the opponent either misses or has to force the slam into the barriers. Not that you won't still try to save it. And probably have to readjust your shoes afterwards. But that characteristic Seth Pech tenacity is one of your best weapons that makes you so fun to watch and tough to beat. Of course, Sharon Alguetti's all-around skills include a similar joyful athleticism. So he finds a way. Great match!

Hi, Currently I use Stiga Dragon Grip on forehand and Donic Bluegrip c2 on backhand I would highly recommend Dignics 05 or 09c or Tibhar K3 they both are very good rubbers as well. they are a bit easier to control where donic and stiga are very strong rubbers if you are looking for that then now you know my opinion. I would probably switch to K3 if I went to Las Vegas as the altitude is so high and the ball can be difficult to keep down on the table.
