Fun match to watch, especially as Krish trains at a club I frequent. He is a fun player to watch and is still getting stronger. Some absolutely crazy points in this match too.
Thank you for sharing the equipment you're using. Maybe in a future video you can also go over why you chose those products and what characteristics you like in them or work for your playing style.
Hey, Seth my man, I love your videos and they really helped me improve. Can you do a tutorial video on how to serve your backhand underpin and other variations and also talk about the tactics when using it in real matches? I'm a backhand player that mostly serves backhand and tomahawk for my forehand.
Great analysis again! What I miss this time is: what would you practice more for the future? In some other analysis you broke down some exercises to work on certain "weak points". Would love to hear your intake on this for this particular match. Maybe even some mental exercises against the nerves. I heard Timo Boll in one of his videos saying that he uses a very common mindfulness technique (focusing on the breath). Congrats on this victory and can't wait to see more! :)
Thats a great input, I do normally put together some things I am working on after the match. I had a coach work with me on my breathing as well she worked with other olympians in the past and wanted me to make sure before every point I was getting enough oxygen to my brain with two complete breaths. looking forward I think if I want to continue to improve with my nerves I think that I should really understand better about my tendencies thought patterns that come naturally when Im nervous and mindfully do the more proactive confident approach to them.
Yoooo Seth bro after a long time😃 Waited for you to upload this match. Great play bro. This is my fav channel🥳🥳🥳🥳and upload more of your matches bro i am great fan of your playing style🤩🤩
Hey, thank you for the nice words! im glad you enjoy the stuff I put out there! I have another match that I played that Im editing and will release soon! :)
Very intense match! You also looked very nervous this time. One thing I noticed is that when you are doing a forehand topspin trying to close the point and the opponent blocks the ball you are often not ready for a second topspin, when the level gets higher the ball always come back, try to focus on that💪🏻💪🏻
Hey yeah! That was the case this time around I think it’s in a few situations, 1 when I go to predictable places they make a fast block back. 2 when I’m looping over the table and I kind of throw my whole body into the shot, I really need to work on my placements so that I can finish the points or get a really weak block back. But that’s nerves for you I constantly was ask myself why I went to such an easy place haha good observation I’ll need to work on that situation
I think the question a lot of people need to ask themselves to improve in a sport is if they enjoy it. If not, how can you enjoy it more? A lot of groth comes from play. And being good at analysis and rational explanations, which it seems that you are, is a different type of strenght. I wonder if it dampens the ability to embody the things that needs to be done. I have issues with my own mentality of not being able to turn off my analytical thinking when playing.
Hi yeah I believe you are correct to have fun and play is a big help when it comes to learning and improving! I wish that I had more that feeling which was true when I was younger and the sport was new and fresh. I think that’s why breaks can be good for athletes. Thank you for the analytical compliment I try to convey the things I am thinking into videos, I also think your correct too much thinking and analysis can be bad when playing so a good balance of feel and a good simple strategy I feel are a good combo.
Great match, thank you for the uploading. Noted two things: 1.he can't deal with your backhand loop, as long as you don't miss, he is over. 2. noted that you slipped several times but your opponent seemed fine. Is that the floor issue your shoe issue?😀
hi thank you, yes my backhand was a real winner during this match! I would say that i slipped more because the flooring isnt so great and I also hop around and make many aggressive moves probably more than him mainly because thats just the way I play and how I feel to be competitive.
Thats a great Idea for a video, I have been jumping around with equipment a lot the last year so I have not really landed on something Im ready to make a video about yet but I like the idea!
I remember Krish being diet Harimoto with the Chos! lol. I feel like underdogs cho a lot to get under their opponent's skin! But great to see how far he has come.
Its Random I jump around and try different rubbers a bunch so sometimes I end up playing with red or black on forehand. currently Im playing with black so I have no preference
nice match and analysis it seems to me ur a bit hyperactive at times thou, doing a lot of steps and sometimes loop or hit the ball while stepping/moving still so ur not in the ideal position to go full force then, what u think?
Watch your mindset: Next time I'll play against him, he'll be better, and hopefully I'll be ready for him. Isn't it poor :D? I'd better go: Next time we meet, I'll be much stronger, so he has barely any chances against me.
If you aren't bend forward when playin the ball your shots nd blocks often miss. Keep in mind to bend upperbody into the ball. Shorten your forehand TS motion is another helpful advice i'd like to give. Many times your arm is still over your head when you've to strike again. Result is ur too upright and the block goes out😓 I bet you know it already😆
Hey thank you for the analysis I always read what you and others have to say and love the extra input! I do have to be in good posture more throughout my points.
Hi Pech, it is not so easy from a video to understand where there is possibility for improvement. One thing I notice is that you stand with your head too straight, this causes the fact that you often go backwards with the forehand or if the oppenent block fast you dont have time for the next shot, even if your great legs help you, and you go out with the backhand or you cannot load it optimally. and from the video it looks like the ball it's not deep. I appreciate the study you do on yourself to improve, I would suggest you work on different timing of the forehand top impact and dont do every shot 100% of your power. See your head after you serve
hi thats good advice, yanno over the years Ive slowly learned which shots not to take full power and which to go strong, its still an ongoing process but i think im on the right track. thank you for the input I always like to see what people have to say as well all see the game a bit differently
@@PechPongTT yes for sure it will be nice to whatch videos togheter in the gym, more easy to argue the thesis with concrete facts, for example by trying a blow several times, under pressure or not, to analyze every aspect of it, but you are great , the tendency is to reject something we don't like a priori, the coach's task is to share growth with their players and collaborate with other coaches not only by saying: your player does not do that well, but by giving solutions positive for doing that well, thank you very much.
He played slow and passive and consistent to my backhand if I tried to turn he would block it out wide and we would go fh fh looping, if I tried to play short he would make sidespin medium long slices to my backhand I had trouble landing those with backhand and if I turned and used forehand he would block me out wide to fh we would go loop to loop and he would win haha I’ve worked hard to have a stronger backhand for one ball (still working on it) but that’s helped and I’ve worked many hours on that sidespin slice with backhand loop. That match was a while ago I think I deleted it and I don’t want to reuse the stream from T2 hope that info helps
Krish is weak on his forearm, he chops then attacks with back arm. For left hand players they can make a great variation when they with their backhand.
I know that boy. He plays in the Boston area - sort of. His club is the Westford club. I know his coach who owns that club - very good coach. I used to play Krish a few years ago and would beat him easily. But then he and a group of Indian boys (brothers/friends) started taking lessons seriously and within a few years became among the top players in Massachusetts. There are still a lot of players in our state who can beat them, but most aren't regulars except for the Bockoven brothers. Both Chase and Connor Bockoven are a level above Krish - Chase is above 2400. There is the random Chinese player from MIT or Harvard who shows up at the clubs and makes mince meat out of everyone, LOL. But Krish and his brother and other Indian friends have just started their TT careers and are the only consistent elite players (aside from the Bockovens). Krish is on the USATT Junior National team. I predict he and all his friends will be 2600+ rated and soon be playing against the likes of Jishan Liang and others. I'll be rooting for them! GO KRISH!
hey thats so cool, the table tennis community is a small one, im glad I got the chance to play him, I also remember Chase I played him a few times when I was younger.
I like the K3 I similar to the K1 but I believe it’s a little bit harder which was the problem when I tried the K1 it was just too soft for me when I went for strong shots
Hey I have tried the super alc it’s a bit faster the throw is a little bit more lean and the dwell time is longer that was my feeling at least when I tried it, it also felt a little harder or more compact in the hand I felt like I could play with it but I didn’t feel like those where the changes I would be looking for in a blade
