I've been spoiled and had newer systems. After purchasing my first home, I was completely lost and my husband couldn't figure out the system either. Your video was super informative and easy to follow, thank you!!
I just bought my first home and it has this system. I don't have an instruction manual but this video told me all I needed to know. I really appreciate it!
Super happy for you buying your 1st home. Glad my video could help ya. Hope you remembered to Subscribe to our Channel to help us grow too. It’s free and a great way to bookmark our page😎
This helped me incredibly last year. Hadn't used it in years because I couldn't figure it out. I just watched the video again today for a refreshing. I'm good to go again. Thanks
Thanks Gary. I had one in my old house and it's been like 7 years since I moved. My new house has this similar sytem. Thanks for the step by step. You made it easy to set up.
Thank you very much. Now I can also set my sprinklers. Just one problem with setting the current time. I can set the hour but from there it jumps straight to the day. Cannot get to the minutes or a.m. What am I doing wrong or is there a fault with the hunter.
Riaan Human, ya unfortunately that’s a sign the timer is going bad. It’s the contact behind the arrow button. Just keep trying it, you could also try hitting the reset button inside bottom panel and just start over to see if that fixes it. Hope you like the Channel and get a chance to Subscribe.
I cannot change my minutes. When I press the arrow/forward button while it's on the hour, it jumps over to am/pm/24hr, then to day of week. Will not flash on the minutes. Any tips?
Thank you so much for the step-by-step. My model EC is identical to yours, at least I thought it was until I tried to set the day of the week. I set the time just fine, but when I tried to get the day of the week, I got a calendar icon and numbers 1-7 when I pushed + or - instead of Mon, Tue, etc. So, I chose 4 for Thursday. Did I do something wrong to get the numbers and not the Mon? Also, I have two watering times, (#1- 6:00am & #2- 11:15pm, will the watering days I set for #1 automatically work for #2?
Thank you for this video. What do you think is going on if my forward button doesn’t move to the minutes? When I change the hour, I move forward to the minutes but it goes to the days instead.
Hi Gary, great useful video.... I wonder if you could answer me something... Or Lawn Bowls Club has one of these units and over the years people keep messing it up and i am going to try and get my head around it and set it up. I have not looked at the unit yet hence watching your video first. We have a large tank and a pump and one of these controllers around the green we have 4 spray heads and these come on one individually at a time currently for 4 mins when we set it to manual operation (love your tip about pressing the forward arrow for 3 seconds ... Will these spray heads be programed as FOUR Zones 1, 2, 3, 4, on Programme 1.... or are they set up as Programme A, B, C, and D ..... btw …I am going to change the battery first and reset the unit. before I start to program the water to come on twice during the night . Cheers Paul in the UK
Hello Paul, yes they will be zone 1,2,3, and 4 in Program “A” you don’t need to put them in separate programs. Let me know if you need further help. Thanks for the Positive comments, hope you’ll take a minute to Subscribe to our Channel it helps us too. 👍
@@garyssprinklerrepair Thanks for the reply Gary... I will have a go at this next week. Your answer and video have given me hope and confidence that i should put this to bed and have a successful watering season this year... Have subscribed...cheers Paul
@@garyssprinklerrepair Update Gary... Bowls green sprinkler system working brilliantly... Many thanks for the video and inspiration... Cheers Paul in the UK
Turn the switch to current date time. Hour is flashing. Press the arrow button. It skips over both minutes and am/pm, and instead a calendar icon below the hour starts flashing. No amount of arrow pressing gets the minutes or am/pm to start flashing.
Thank you very much, this is incredibly helpful. The only thing I cannot figure out is how to set the date--my model looks exactly like the one in this video, but when I advance past AM/PM in the date/time setup, I get a calendar icon that does not respond to plus/minus controls. The manual that I found online is also not much help. Thank you for any insight you can offer.
You will only be setting the day of the week when you see the calendar. Watch for- Mon blinking along the bottom left of the screen use +|- button to change day of the week. Hope that answered your ? Don’t forget to Subscribe to our Channel it really helps us too.👍
Yes, if you want some sprinklers zones to water everyday put them in A program. For the others that maybe need only every other day Put them in B program and set them to have a start time after all the A program zones run. If that answered your question please feel to help our channel by going to the channel and hitting the red word subscribe ✌️
When I try to correct the time the forward button will not move to minutes or am/pm or date. It just does random things on the screen. I tried to reset but didn’t change anything. How can I hard reset to clear anything it has?
The first generation of this timer has that issue as it gets older the newer Xcore timers don’t seem to have that issue. You might try removing the battery and unplugging it overnight then reinstall the battery and plug in and retry if to not cooperating, timer is shot.😉
Unfortunately, this is a older discontinued model. There are no replacement parts. They make a newer version, it can be purchased online at Home Depot or Amazon. The new model is the Hunter X-Core
The timer comes with a transformer that plugs into the wall and steps the voltage down to approximately 26 volts from 120volts commonly referred to as 110. Normal power for USA, and yes it’s AC current NOT DC., it has a battery backup that’s DC but it won’t run the valves. Hope that answered your question, don’t forget to Subscribe it really helps us grow.✌️
Yes that is correct, use the B program and set a start time that will be after all of the zones watering in the A program have watered, set the drip zone watering times, days of the week...done. Great question btw. Feel free to Subscribe to our Channel it really helps us grow.
Mohammad Omar Farooq have you tried to check the power outlet with something else to see if there’s power? Make sure dial is in run. If that doesn’t work you can try the reset
Go to water days and it will be blinking on Monday. Hit the minus button, then Tuesday will be blinking hit the plus button and so on. ( tues, thurs, sat all have a drop or water) Done ✅ Hope you found that helpful and Subscribe to my channel. ✌️
Turn dial to start time, tap the right arrow above once now you’ll see the word “OFF” use the plus or minus button to set a second time. Put the dial back to Run position, done. To remove the second time of day repeat the above use the plus or minus scroll to midnight the word “OFF” reappears. To Subscribe, just tap the red word “subscribe” it turns grey. Done ✅
