I only have 1 station with 3 areas in that station. Why would there be a, b, c letters above the day of week in the water day section? Thanks
Forget about all the different programs, make your life simple use the A program. Once you turn the dial to days of the week chose A program, then select which days you want using the + button or - button for those you don’t want. When finished there will be a drip of water for the on days. You don’t need to repeat this’d or multiple valves providing you set a start time in A program and set a water time for each of the 3 valves. It’s not necessary to use B or C program just because you have multiple zones.
This was a very user-friendly video which I greatly appreciate. My lawn was recently fertilized and I had to water it before the usual water-days. I now know how ALL the functions of the sprinkler timer works. Thank you so much!

Extremely helpful! Thought I was going to have to hire someone to program the system. It’s definitely not “self explanatory.” This video did the trick. As a side bar- anyone unsure about the “zones” for your yard? Try the manual step for each zone and watch where the water comes on. I ended up creating a grid on the garage wall for myself and the next owners. They’re welcome.

I just want to say thank you for your video. It is very helpful. I bought a brand new house not too long ago and it came pre-installed. Anytime I look at this, it intimidate me. Very good video, I've programmed all my times and days but for some reason it's watering after the set times and won't stop until I manually turn it to the off position.
More than likely you have set a second start time. Go to start times and make sure you don’t have multiple starts. If you turn the timer to off and it shuts off then the issue is timer(or start times, poss in another program check ABC programs starts) If you shit the timer off and valve continues ...bad valve

I have 8 zones. They all show up on the manual setting. However, regardless of what program I select (A, B, or C) it only shows zones 1-4. What happened to 5-8? P.S. on “run times” zones 1-8 all show up. I don’t know what we did to mess this up, but don’t want to have manually water every day to make sure a. 8 zones are getting water. Help!
Make sure you’re viewing “run times” for each zone NOT “start times” as it will only show 4 because there are only 4 start times possible per program. Also when you hold down the right arrow to run a program as soon as it shows on the screen if you want to run another program you must immediately choose one with the program button or it will only run A program. Very good video. Tell you what I did. Set the sprinkler times to station as start times. All stations 1 to 4 went to their max. which was over 3 hours per station. Had I not been at home and noticed you can imagine what the place would look like. You only need one start time for station. But then programs? Then zones. I need a diagram for just one program.
a W, you only need 1 start time to run every zone in your yard. Set a second start time and they will all repeat. Example: A program Start time 4 am everyday Zones 1,2,3,4 Each for 10 minutes Starts at 4 run each one for 10 min. Have a question, my timer is set for zones 1&2 for start times 6am and 2pm but for some reason zone 2 is coming on at 12am on every day every thought I have my watering days set for Monday and Wednesday. I can’t seem to find what I’m doing wrong.
Go to start times, tap the right arrow to pass by 6am, tap again to pass by 2pm, tap again if there’s a start time there use up arrow to get to midnight that’s the off position. Yes, use A Program for the back lawn everyday tell them when to start and how often. Then in B program leave the back yard zone out and put the front yard sprinkler system n. Set times, then start time, (be sure to not overlap the time for when the backyard sprinklers are still running.) The manual one station suddenly now show : off not sure how that happened because i use it to water manually. I did see that i can have it on run and push and hold the forward i will try that now... but i can concerned about it showing off at manual just like the system off
BRIGITTE B. Make sure you’re in the correct program A,B or C that zone 1 is in. If it doesn’t show up then go to run time for that program and make sure there is a water time for zone 1 still

Great video! So if I have a rain sensor, (looks like a phone cord) it plugs into the "SEN" input? Will that adjust watering automatically thru change of seasons??? After programming just leave it on "Run"?
No, not for a rain sensor. That sound like a weather station. It connects to the sensor port and then you set the climate zone you live in per the owners manual. Set you station run times and it will change then automatically plus shut off in the event of rain.
Just go to start time with the dial, tap to right arrow button, add your water time with the +\- buttons and return, repeat for third or even forth time you want to water. Done Don’t forget to Subscribe to our Channel ☘️
If the same station, add a second start time. (Go to start times and hit right arrow, 2nd start will show off, use the + and - to set a pm time) put timer back to run.

Go to start time program A Then set 1-A start (ex: 7am) Next arrow to the right, 2-A is off simply use the + or minus to set another start (ex: 8 pm) put in run done. I would like to change what zone to run first. I have 4 zones and my lawn is on zone 4, but I would like it to start at 7am and zone 1,2 and 3 to follow as they are drips. Is there a way? Thanks
Yes, put zone 4 in the A program set days of the week and the desired start time (7am) Then, in the B program put zone 1,2,3 set a start time after the A program finishes and your days of the week. Done. You could also move zone 4 wire to the #1 position and move the rest over to be 2,3,4 set start times and the lawn will go 1st. Hope that helps, don’t forget to Subscribe to our Channel.✌️

Mr315679 if you want them to water the same as the front yard as far as number of days and time to start just add them to the clock in the same program If you would prefer different days and a start time earlier or later than the front just add them to program B or C Turn dial to start then hit program button set start, next run times, lastly days. I’m assuming you added them to the clock with wiring already.

Mr315679 normally the common is white, so let’s say you have 2 new zones in the back they should each connect 1 wire together then each get a colored different wire Then on the clock connect the common up to the common spot (might already have a white wire there for the front) then connect the two new zone colors to a spot on the timer (ex: 5 &6) Go to my Channel Gary’s Sprinkler Repair Subscribe for free and I have 40 how to videos. 1- video is how to rewire a set of valves or watch a video on connecting and installing a timer.
Nikki C you can’t run them simultaneously, they will only run sequentially. You can however set additional watering times for them. Up to 4 different times per day in each program (A,B,C) each have the ability to set 4 start times. So if you wanted you could water 12 times per day with short water times. Hope that helped.
I4tube2 , it moves you to program “B” or “C” for different watering schedules. Ex: Gardner says don’t water the grass on Tuesday you can put lawns in”A” program and not water Tuesday. Put plants in “B” program to still water everyday, maybe vegetable garden in “C” program and water it every other day..
Does an ‘off’ day override the manual-one station feature? That is, if I want to run a zone but it is an off day, should the zone still run manually of no?
Hello Gary, I have a question on run times. I run my sprinklers in the am for 15 minutes. I want to run them in the pm. Is there a way to adjust how long i want to run at night? Or is 15 minutes the default and you can't change it? Thank's for the great video and advice!
My system displays Off and it has an umbrella icon. I’ve programmed it, and the knob is set in the upright position to Run, but the umbrella remains and the Off word is still displaying. Help? Is this suppose to display this way?
Do you have a rain sensor? If so it’s telling you that it rained (possibly over night) and the sensor or the rain gutter outside is wet. Preventing the timer from running until it drys out.
After setting cycle 1 start time and another start time for cycle 2, I then go to set the run time. Now when I want to set the run time for lets say 20 minutes on cycle 1 and then 5 minutes for cycle 2, can that be done? Or can I only set one run time (being the same) for both cycles? Thanks.
Well Park, once you set a start time let’s say (program A) then a run time below for zone 1 for let’s say 7 minutes. Every time the start time begins the program zone 1 will run for 7 minutes. If you want to set a second start time, that will allow the zone 1 to run for a shorter duration you will need to go to program B set that start time to come on later in the day and then set the shorter run time for that (zone1) be sure to also set the days of the week you want that to happen. Wish i would have watched this a year ago. Hey what does the calendar icon mean when you want to water every other day? You say you set the one on the video to every other day, but it’s actually going to water 2 days in a row Sunday and Monday?
Zak Norgren, ya I set it for Mon, wed, fri, Sun if you actually wanted you could go to interval after Sunday and set it for every 2nd day regardless of which day of the week that is. The calendar icon (in set current date, time) stands for month of the year (12 months) ex: Dec is month-12 next icon is for the day To set odd or even go to water days with the dial...you will blink on Mon...use right arrow to move past Sun ..now you will see (Int..) hit right arrow again now you will see Odd hit right arrow again now you will see even.

Your video helped a ton, I never knew how to start a watering cycle by holding down the right arrow for 5 seconds, that is going to save me sooo much time. Also, didn't know about the seasonal adjust which will also save me countless hours of reprogramming since I live in Phoenix, we have to change watering times a lot when we get rain or intense heat, so I was doing it almost every week! Regarding the Odd/Even interval setting... When I go to Odd, and press the Plus arrow, a calendar icon pops up. The calendar icon says "1-31" and if I +/- while it is blinking, it changes the number from 1 to 2 to 3 and so forth all the way until 31. Just wanted to make sure I didn't have to do anything on the calendar when it came to days of the week I am watering...? You are saying just scroll past Sunday to Odd, press the Plus sign, and I'm now set for only Odd days? thanks again and I subscribed!
I think I need to reset the controller. On water days I hold the plus down and it just skips ahead a day. I have no raindrops or raindrops the slash through them. I cannot figure out why. This is default program A

If the timer has a start time in A program and let’s say that’s at 7am. Next turn the dial to run times, use the upper right arrow to scroll they the different zone run times, make sure all the zones you use have run times. Next turn the dial to water days, you should see a drop above each day indicating it waters that day (a circle) indicates not watering that day. Now turn the dial to seasonal adjust it should show 100 percent put the dial back to top Run position. You can manually check each one by holding down the top right arrow until you see 1-A and it’s time show up with a flashing little sprinkler. To go to next zone (Tap) the right arrow until 2-A shows etc. until your back zones shows up and runs. To stop just put dial to off until it stops blinking. Now return to Run. I wonder if you would help me. Problem--zone 1 is coming on twice! Background-I recently downsized to a house (in a 55+ community) that is 13 years old and the sprinkler system was installed then. It looks just like the one in this video. The settings-it has the capacity for 8 zones and only 1 through 4 are in use. The current year, date and time are correct. Program A is set for run times (15 minutes) for each of the 4 zones and there are also Start Times for each zone-maybe this is part of the problem? Program B and C are “off.” It was set to run on even numbered days (this is an even numbered house) but I’m not sure about that anymore (I unplugged it in my frustration-maybe that was a mistake). I thought it might be the seasonal adjustment so I set it to 10%. That’s a mistake, right?! So, I see the zones come on and go off, and then zone 1 comes on again! It’s not Programs B or C, because they show “off”, right?! Could it be that the Start Times for each zone are interfering with the Run Times even though they match? Should I set zone 1 for 8 minutes and when it comes on twice, I’ll get the right amount of water? Or is there a real solution? My late husband took care of this kind of thing, and I didn’t take the opportunity to learn from him when I had the chance. Thank you for your help.
In Program A set one start time, let’s say 5:00 am use the right arrow to see it there is a second start time if there is use the plus or minus button to move the time to midnight…it should now say off. You only need 1 start time to run all four of your zones.(They will run sequentially.) Don’t forget to Subscribe to our Channel for more help, and videos.✌️ Next go to run times and set the 4 zones run times 8min., 12min. Etc… You can set it for what ever days you want using the plus and minus buttons.
Is there a way to introduce a pause in between zones? Being on a well I dont want to run all 8 of my zones in one sequence.. it would be nice if i could add a 10 or 15 minute delay in between to ensure well doesnt go dry when there hasn't been alot of rain
There is no pause between stations for this timer. It ha a cycle soak but it doesn’t pause between zones just pauses the frequency of water duration per zone.
Hi, I need help. There is no display at all on my Hunter XC station. The manual is very confusing - it said check the power source. I flipped the breaker and it should be find because the hydro rain station has power. The manual also mentions changing the battery but the cover on my unit does not open up. Does that make sense?
Lisa Myrick first thing unplug the timer and plug a blow dryer or something in to insure there is power. If that’s confirmed, then put a paper clip into the hole on the right side of the timer and reset it.
Hi again. The blow dryer works so there is power. But there is no hole on the right side of the timer. I even used a magnifying glass. :-) There is no hole anywhere!
Lisa Myrick that means you have the older version the reset in under the bottom panel. Just take both thumbs and slide it down. Take the pen and hit the reset next to the AC (careful to stay away from the yellow AC wires) that should restore the screen.
Ah ha! Well, I found it but reset did nothing. I've had this unit 7-1/2 years and this version is probably discontinued but I don't want to buy a new system.
Yes, if you want to water (1) zone again without running all the others go into B program and set the days, start time, run time, you want that station to do that, just leave the others out of that program. Hope that answers your question, don’t forget to Subscribe to our Channel it helps us grow.🤙
Depending on the type of pop up sprinklers you have you might try changing to nozzles that throw further. There are many things that could cause this issue(valve going bad, cracked pipe etc) wish I could help more😕
eves lindley, we have a problem here in my city where they are giving each house less water so what did work for the lawns that now don’t work is I tried shutting off a few of the middle sprinklers and let the outside ones that now work better, spray farther to cover the middle.....
