When I seen the thumnail say "why girls shouldn't be nannies", I instantly knew what you were going to say. I agree very much with what you said. It was sooo hard to be stuck with children who did not respect you, went out of their way to be disobedient, and watch the parents encourage the behavior! I also struggled with the whole "working for a boss babe" thing. I was essentialy a stand in mother, but with my hands tied behind my back. Babysitting was a lot easier since it was only for a few hours, and the kids usually behaved a little better. (I got paid $10 for one child and $12 two or more.) I determined in my heart that I was going to raise my children God's way!

I have been a nanny for approximately 45 years and i absolutely ❤it. I easily bond with children. I am happiest in my life when I'm with them. I cry when it's time to look for a new family because I will miss them. I have gained skills I did not have prior which i considered a personal accomplishment. Kelli, the most i ever made was $18 an hour and i was very grateful for it. I have stayed in contact with some of the kids i babysat which is a blessing. I ❤ my job.😊

IMO under 18 need lots of guidelines. Young teenage boys who aren’t ready to be daddies don’t need to be doing daddy things. I remember having my heart broken by the boy I was “dating” when I was 15 to 17 years old. He was the same age. Looking back, there was nothing wrong with him, we were both too young and immature to be in the nature of relationship we were in. As a teenage boy you’re not ready to emotionally, physically and financially provide for a woman + family, so therefore your connection with the opposite sex should be limited to being friends / getting to know each other in a family or public setting.

Our children aged 11 and under are VERY interested in God‘s design for marriage. Whenever the subject comes up (e.g. we discussed ‚You shall not covet’) we have their full attention. My daughter has a friend from a patchwork family. It is crystal clear to us that if you do not follow God’s design, you will end up hurting everybody around you including yourself.

Loved this! I’m raising two girls and I’ve been trying to figure out how to navigate this area. A quick thought on babysitting though… I used to babysit for date night couples that we went to church with. Some didn’t have local family and I was familiar with their children from helping in the church nursery. So not a nanny, just occasional babysitting. ♥️

@@ScottandKelli I was initially unsure about your point regarding nannying, but as a full time job, I can see why it might not be ideal for young girls. Also glad that you pointed out that there may be exceptions! Of course, it's important for people to understand what may or may not be good for their specific life or situation.

I agree with everything said My husband is older but i feel like once you go over 10+ years it can look a bit creepy, 3-6 years old is great! I also love the idea of not being a nanny for a feminist moms, being a housekeeper or helping a mom with everyday chores (not involving raising her children for her) can help you manage house keeping better (:

As I was processing my own question, I had come to the conclusion that perhaps it means my daughters will have to marry older men if they desire to get married young . Never have I thought of that.And that was your response as well. Thank you for coming along beside me and helping me process these huge ideas . The same way that young people have to sit down and ask themselves tough questions to keep themselves accountable to the high calling of God, we parents have to do the same thing in making sure we help our children live out that Calling.

Your daughters will not thank you for their having to lie with an old man's naked and wrinkled and unsightly body, while she herself is young and fresh and ready for fun and adventure. You are beyond cruel. A horrible, abusive father, that you would do that to your own child.

Girls looking for marriage, keep your weight down. It doesn’t matter if you have a pretty face, nice skin or an hourglass figure. They’d rather not have fat wives. I know many nice sweet young ladies who have trouble finding husbands and this is the reason why. Nobody will say this because they don’t want to be hurtful. You don’t have to be rail thin but try to stay within a healthy bmi for your height. Some of your single years need to be spent learning to cook healthy meals at home and picking up some kind of activity that keeps you moving. If you’re a young chubby girl, you’re going to attract significantly older men or maybe the ones that don’t quite have their stuff together as much in some way.

Hi guys, thank you for another video full of wonderful advice!! I have a situation I'd love your opinion on, if you'd be willing! So, I've commented here before, but for context again, I'm an 18 year old girl, and I'm attending Christian university this coming fall. I just was made aware by a friend that a 22 year old guy from a large, good Christian family is interested in pursuing a courtship with me. But, the guy is known to be immature, and is kinda weird lol, he works at a grocery store, and I've talked to him maybe once. At this point, I'm not really interested in a relationship w him. I'm not attracted to him, and I don't feel ready for marriage just yet. Also, my father doesn't want me to marry till I finish my degree. If he ends up approaching me, what would be the best way to go about answering him??

No is a full sentence. You’re not obligated to give him reasons but if you do just tell him what you said here. You’re not attracted to him and you’re not ready. If he has a problem that’s on him and he probably has some growing up to do.

Hi Maria! It's good to hear from you. Firstly, submit to your dad (which it sounds like you're doing- well done!). It sounds like your dad is involved in your life, which is a blessing, so when it comes time to be married/ready for marriage, invite him into this journey by discussing potential husbands with him. We obviously don't know your dad, but by the sounds of it, he wouldn't approve of this guy that's interested in you, so that takes the burden off of you should this guy pursue you. God bless you!
