I don’t understand why everyone is so critical. We’ve all been shown how to do things or have had to figure them out on our own. Straight and square are ideal but 9 times out of 10, nothing in a bathroom is square so it’s best to do what looks symmetrical and aesthetically pleasing both to you and the client. Aside from tearing out walls, reframing with new crooked lumber and making things “closer to square and plumb”, in a bathroom remodel, you roll with what you got and make the most of it. I give the guy credit for using Schluter, which is an incredible product when installed correctly. Everyone has their “own way” of doing things. Just because not doing it YOUR way doesn’t mean he’s doing it wrong. “Ye that have NO sin, cast the first stone”….
You still should take the course or learn exactly what they are using. You cannot just watch and do. They used modified thinset below ditra and then unmodified above the ditra.
It looks like you are leaving about an inch off of the wall before you start making the directional trawling, am I correct and is there a reason for that?
Starting at the toilet flange? Hmmm. I think customers would appreciate that full tile at the threshold or at least a point of their choosing. Never seen that before.
You have no idea what his layout is or the finished product, why so immediately be judgemental and critical? This guy makes tons more money and guaranteed does higher end clients then you. And has a successful RU-vid channel showing his skilled work. And no the threshold is not the most important place when walking into a room because no one is looking down at their feet when you first walk in a room.
There alot of debris and dirt in the ditra prior to applying thin set. I only do my ditra when im ready for tile. So its nice and clean and no one has worked over it. This does fuck with time line though. So i do understand to some extent. I also know some contractors that install the ditra and skim coat the top right away to avoid plaster and dirt from falling into the honey combs. But if to much time pass prior to install and heavy traffic on surface. The thin set start to unglue and tiny thinset square start poping. Which to me is worrisome
Bonjour, J'aimerais enlever un ancien carrelage pour coller un nouveau. L'isolant de la chape s'est un peu tassé avec le temps (20 ans). Il y a donc par endroit des écarts entre les plinthes le carrelage. Quelques fissures car pas de joint de dilatation dans la pièce. J'aimerais casser l'ancien carrelage et faire un ragréage pour retrouver le niveau initiale de la chape. Et ensuite poser une natte. Est-ce Ia natte protégera le carrelage des fissures si la chape se tasse légèrement ? Je parle ici de déformations dans le sens vertical. Merci pour votre aide précieuse
@@BathroomRemodelingTeacher I just got shit from contractor , but my boss said use modified versabond as we always do , but now they want me to use economical non modified thinset , this stuff is cheaper tho?
