I’ve just cut out this blouse today. I also use bed sheets as lining. So much better value and does the job beautifully. Love your ideas for altering the pattern, and I really appreciate your very detailed sew along. Thank you Lauren.
Omgg it's gorgeous! I'm so glad I found your channel and it's literally the only I think I've ever commented on! I feel like every time I buy a pattern you post a video about it right after haha it's the best thing ever!
Thank you for the video! I have been binge watching all your videos and love them. Probably a super silly question...for the shirring, do you only put elastic in the bobbin and regular thread in the needle? Of both get the elastic? Thanks from a newbie.
Aw, thank you so much for watching Bredy! Not a silly question at all! For shirring, you just need the elastic thread in the bobbin, and regular all purpose thread in the needle. Hope this helps!
Sensational! Love your fabric choice! Would love to know in real time how much time was spent planning, pattern drafting and sewing for your projects? Also as a gifted pattern manipulator, have you considered creating some patterns to sell. I would love to buy this bespoke pattern and some of your other creations.
Thank you so much! It really depends on the project, but I usually cut my projects out in the evenings after work, and then sew them on my day off. This blouse was probably a 6 hour project all in all. And thank you for asking about patterns! I'm in the process of creating my first garment pattern at the moment!
This top is absolutely stunning! You are so inspiring!! When I came across your channel it inspired me to start my sewing journey! My mom used to sew all of our Halloween costumes as kids and I have such great memories of her sitting at the dining room table after work and working on our costumes. I am going to start with a pair of pajama pants as you suggested. Any ideas for where to buy the pattern? x 😊
Aww, I love this Alyssa, thank you so much!!! If you have access to a Joann Fabrics, you can find a lot of patterns for PJ pants there. I like Simplicity and McCalls. Let me know how it goes!
I love this, I bought the pattern already but struggling with the fabric. What material was yours? I have found a similar fabric but it says 100% cotton and technically for curtains so I am worried it might be too thick? How do I know which fabric is best? And what about lining?
Wow, simply stunning, great job. Can you tell me is the vintage fabric, cotton or a mix? I had this pattern and was just going to do the original but love your version so much, so now delving into stash! Thank you Lauren for your wonderful content and inspiration.
Absolutely love this. I’m curious though about the decision to line it? Was it because the material was thin or for more structure with the top itself? I just love that material.
Thank you so much! I just decided to line it because that is how the original pattern was designed, and it was an easy way to finish the raw edge on the neckline and hem. It does add a little more structure too, which is nice! 💗
