Thanks so much for this interview. Casey seems like someone who would really help people who've offended, who come into her office and want to work on themselves. The overall conversation reminds me of Dr. Honda's stance towards borderline people; understanding traumas, having compassion. I realize this interview people is probably not satisfying to people who just want to lambast pedophiles, without any constructive or productive element. That's why people like Kirk and Casey are therapists. They can put their biases aside and focus on actually fixing the problem to the benefit of offenders and victims. I guess we need to ask ourselves, do we want to yell at people that they're awful, or do we actually want to follow the evidence and make the world a better place?

They don't care on benefiting either their clients OR their victims. Also a lot of other studies have shown that, by the time that one of them is caught with 1 child case they have had their way with dozens of children. All they care about is getting people out of PRISONERS so that THEY can make money off THEIR BACKS instead of private and state prisons making money off of THEIR BACKS. This obviously horrible woman therapist admitted that she has only 5% of her pedo clients that have most likely LIED that they NEVER OFFENDED. She's a piss poor therapist if they rates are THAT ABYSMALLY LOW! She s*cks! Also she is LITERALLY SMILING AND LAUGHING as she is talking about grapists! CHILD GRAPISTS! Can we petion to get all pedos out of jails and prisons and get HER IN? She's speaking about this topic with the curiosity and laughing detachment of a Cluster B disordered person.

There is a sexual education program called Our Whole Lives that was developed by the Unitarian Universalist and United Church of Christ churches. It is completely secular except for an optional Christian component from the UCC. It approaches sexuality as being a part of the human condition and stresses respect, consent, and acceptance. There is age appropriate curriculum for kindergarten thru senior citizens and it has profound Positive impact on the attitudes toward sex of students at all age levels. In addition to being used at UU & UCC churches, many Montessori and traditional independent schools are using it. Realistic sexual education has become more important than ever in these days of more and more restrictions being placed on reproductive healthcare by the government.

This doesn't sound anything like the court mandated so treatment program in my state. Hearing from offenders that the treatment program is ineffective for the problem behaviors and just a revolving door with probation violations and incarceration time. Why would it very so differently from state to state?

You mean like why should it be different or are you asking why is it different? Maybe this isn’t what you’re asking but the treatments differ because criminal sentences for sex offenders are mandated by the states, not the federal government. Different states pass different laws.

I just feel like they are pushing things they shouldn't be. Thank you for the awareness to all the topics that are covered, I feel enlightened listening to your videos. We also need more Casey's in this world. She is wonderful. I hope that people are able to be more excepting exploring their ideas and reasons why. She's making a difference in so many lives.

She's literally SMILING AND LAUGHING as she us talking about child grapists and women grapists. She's one of the WORST examples of women I have ever seen. She's also, by her own descriptions of what are her results of her work, a sh*t therapist that only has 5% succes rate when it comes to child grapists that have NEVER OFFENDED. They are talking about this like they are talking about what they ate for breakfast which is beyond inappropriate.

The registry keeps neighbors and citizens informed as to the safety of their communities. I would encourage all people to review their State's online registries. After living next door to a convicted rapist as an adult and also living next door to "a prolific pedophile" (according to a Psychologist per a criminal trial) as a child, I can say without a doubt you do not truly know your neighbors. I thank God every day for a public registry so I know where these individuals live and work so I can avoid them. I also am so happy to live where there are harsh penalties for crimes against children. CSAM is not "taboo" it is pure evil.
@epileptictrees5213
@epileptictrees5213 Год назад
You missed the point they were making when they called it taboo.
@charlize9341
@charlize9341 Год назад
Agree. This discussion disappointed me personally in several ways. One is the preventative advantages of a registry. They are complicated policy to implement effectively because of issues such as offenders need to live somewhere and distance requirements from schools can make many cities and towns uninhabitable, for instance. One anecdote, when I was in early elementary school we lived next to a man that invited me into his home when he saw me playing outside. I went in for snacks. Nothing bad happened, my mom noticed I was missing and freaked out yelling for me. But his intentions were not good or normal. If she had thought to look at a registry, I bet something would have been there in this case and she would have told me to stay away from him before a risk like that happened. And honestly, the registry makes information that is public easy to access. If you knew all of the names of people in your neighborhood you could look up their criminal records. It isn't exactly private information, it's just not feasible to access info on people around you that you don't know.
@epileptictrees5213
@epileptictrees5213 Год назад
@@charlize9341 There's no evidence that the registry actually helps anything and it's been heavily criticized by groups like the ACLU and HRW. There's a reason the US and UK are the only countries in the world with a public registry.

@@bahwickee Taboo doesn't mean not evil. Rape and murder and incest are taboos as well (and for good reason.) Taboo just means something deeply frowned upon by society. They're saying these users seek out taboo material (like CSAM) because they need more and more extreme stuff to stimulate them. It doesn't mean it's an excuse.

My dad started abusing me when he lost his job & became a stay-at-home dad. I believe that part of it was due to toxic masculinity & him feeling like less of a man because he wasn't working. Just my theory.

I can totally see someone starting to abuse their child partially from the stress of losing their job. Of course you also have to be sick in the head to be brought to that point and this comment wasn't meant to be a generalization. I don't understand all these negative responses about a situation no one here knows anything about.

Its rhetoric like this that pushes so many people who struggle with being attracted to children into shame and secrecy which makes it much more likely that they will offend. We can not punish based on thoughts, that is a terrible precident to set. if we open up the conversation more to let NON OFFENDING pedophiles to be able to admit their attraction they can be able to ask for help and receive treatment. this would make them less likely to ever offend in the first place and would thus protect more children than the way you suggest.
