It was too late for me to start fighting the bald, so I shaved mine, as a temporary solution, but I got more, and more compliments from people, that I decided to just keep it. Its kinda grown on me, pardon the pun.

When you cut your beard to a short stubble and line it up, how do you get that area right under your nose? I'm talking about the first 4 mm under your nose? Most clippers will not cut that area because of how they are designed.

@@lostboy3870 I suppose where you live affects what products make it to you. I use BTZ bc that is what my salon retailer sells. I’ve seen it at target too I think. Whatever you find, make sure it says “matte,” because that’s key: the less light that shines off your hair, the thicker it will appear. Also, I suggest a pre-styler. I used to use sea salt spray, which was fine. Requires being dried before you apply clay. But I’ve since moved to volumizing powder. It’s super light and you don’t apply much at all. Had my doubts cuz I don’t understand how it works, but it does. Sprinkle a little on dry hair and it helps thicken it and the clay (or whatever product) reacts so nicely to it. Great hold, full look, no greasy shine. Hope this helps. Oh yeah.. and as far as your product, just use a little bit on your finger and rub vigorously to emulsify it (heat it up, basically). It will react much better with your hair and you will avoid clumps too.

@@joer8273 thank you for the thorough response! unfortunately i wear a hair loss concealer in my hair so i can’t have too many products in otherwise it may rub the concealer off. i definitely will try the “beyond the zone rock on” clay. Hopefully it gives that volume im looking for. Do you wash it out every day or is this something u can go a day or two without washing?

@@lostboy3870 I’ve done both. All depends on how long I need the hold to last I guess. Preference as well. I try not to use shampoo everyday, and you shouldn’t either. And use one with biotin in it. Caffeine and collagen are good additives too. The volumizing powder sounds like a good move for you bc you dust so little in there and work it in gently. I use so little I can’t even guess a measurement. 1/32 teaspoon? Haha. Its just a simple dusting. Some people work it into scalp for max volume. I just run it across the hair itself. And I don’t know how much hair you have, but really a pea sized -dime size of product should be enough. Oh yeah, and another interesting tip is on how it’s cut. For one, you should have the top texturized. Makes a huge diff. Even with thinning hair the stylist can do it. Also-and I found this interesting-shorter on top the LESS thin it looks. Really. When it gets long on top, it looks stringy and accentuates the thinness. And lastly (I’m on a roll now): if you can, keep your sides shorter than the top. So a taper fade or maybe even an undercut. But the tighter the hair on the sides, the less thin the top looks. Hope that makes sense. There’s a lot of “illusion” to it bc unfortunately, science and genetics is not on our side.
