David Kettlewell provides a general review of the new Seydel Symphony 16 hole chromatic harmonica. Killer harp. The harp sports many design innovations which create better quality tone and ease of use and maintenance for the player. A cutting edge harp.
The clear SLIDER is something invented and made by David Kettlewell, it eliminates friction of the lips to the mouthpiece. It is not currently being manufactured.

I was playing diatonic sometimes but after i listen 04:10 i buy and started playing chromatic. So thank you for introducing me beauty of chromatic harmonica. Now i can play canon in d, pavane or others thank you.

Thanks for the wonderful Review my friend David. I want little information on the small plastic slide that you are using in this video. What is a technical term for it? and where is it Available? Thanks in advance.

It is called a Slider, and was invented by David Kettlewell eliminate friction of the lips to the mouthpiece. It is not currently offered by any manufacturers.

Hi, David! I've been playing chromatic harmonica for a couple of years, but this is the first time I've come across with Seydel harmonic. I only know Hohner and Suzuki, besides a por of chinese ones as well. So , that's why I'd like to know if Seydel is better that Hohner or Suzuki or it's almost like them? Thanks.

Life evolves. For decades Hohner was the best...then it was Suzuki's turn to be on top. Today it's Seydel. Maybe down the pike it will be Swan....Swan will enter the premium market eventually, as Toyota did with their Lexus models. Today it's Seydel.

Hi Dave! Your enthusiasm is fabulous! Do you think the acrylic version is at all different? I can't decide between the two.

The acrylic version has a bit rounder tone, I'm guessing, and has a rounded mouthpiece, but one can order with trapezoidal. I'm trying to get one to test.

I doubt i will be at Spah, as i neither make nor sell products for sale. The Slider can be made in a 5 hole version which I've made and tested, and tongue blocking can be done on this 5 hole model easily enough

thanks , if you compare the Bulletini with the Ultimate 58 , how would you describe the difference in sound ?

Hi Ansel, this is a very complex question, because they do not really compare to each other, being soooo different. The Ultimate '58 was the choice of Toots and I'd describe it as somewhat bright, but not so much depth, and a very fine tonal harmonic footprint...on the BRIGHT side. I played it for years, and after trying a Samson wireless, never looked back to wired. I like the Ultimate '58 very much. HOWEVER...these days I seek a new deep and rich textured tone, which is something between an oboe, flute, and clarinet on steroids...and here, the Bulletini reigns supreme. The ergomonics are better with Bulletini, as it hangs somewhat off the hand, where the Ultimate '58 is straight. As I own both, and both sit upon my fireplace shelf, switching back and forth is easy, but I play the Bulletini most all the time. My suggestion is you get both, as they do different things.

hi just seen seydel have made a 12 hole symphony with a springless slide its magnetic wow hope you can get one to do a demo. thank for another great video.

It's still way cheaper than the Hohner Amadeus that I wasted money on a few years ago. I bought an Amadeus that came with a crappy valve. Dont play it at all because of that. One should not have to send this across the country to have it repaired right out of the box. Hohner really took me on that one for about $1500. 👎👎👎
