This circular walk from Auchessan in Glen Dochart takes in the two munros Meall Glas and Sgiath Chuil. It was a mixed weather day with the grey, misty and occasional rain only slightly improving through the walk with the tops seldom clear.

Hi Les, Fortunately we’ve had a few visit with clear tops👍. Hopefully the next trip won’t need the backup from archive images. Cheers, Charlie.

Thanks for reminding me of my visit to these two Munros, which was from Glen Lochay in spring 1994, with snow patches.

Hi Geoffrey, These two are normally a winter visit for us but with a changeable weather forecast we didn't feel the need to drive further than necessary. An enjoyable day nonetheless and it was good to see them without snow. Cheers, Charlie.

Hi Charlie, another good video! It looked a bit pathless not my type of walk! The winter shots were impressive with great panaramic views! All the best! Mark.

Hello, Generally always wary when around cattle but this big boy hardly moved a muscle when we trotted passed. Running and jumping fences is normally the order of the day with beasts but two tired hill men obviously didn't pose a problem...lol. Cheers, Charlie.

Nice one Charlie. Did this route a few months back and got to my 100th Munro, Didn’t manage Meall Glas as mate had bad ankle sprain and had to turn back. I’ll be back!

Good to see u's out again Charlie. I did those two last summer in perfect clear conditions but they still went on the 'Munros I will only ever do once' list. I agree that they are probably better in winter conditions.

Hi Selwyn, I understand why they would be a single visit for most but the winter gives another dimension to even the simplest of top without the challenges of rock faces. These two are about right for the short winter days and also allow easy parking should the snow be a road level. Many thanks for watching. Cheers, Charlie.

Sunday looks like the better day! I was up here on Monday and it was worse unfortunately. I went anti-clockwise so trying to find my way off Meall Glas and through the bog was certainly interesting. All the best - Alistair

Charlie strangest thing I've seen in the hills, the double top of Ben Dorain early summers morning, on the other top this guy took his gear off and started running around naked, I couldn't believe it,apparently he was an officer in the then Argyll regiment who had lost a bet the previous night 😳🙄

Love your videos, BUT! don't you think that by showing others you going off the main routes and paths up Munro's and Corbetts that this will encourage others to follow suit in their masses, causing erosion and vegetation damage, not to mention disturbing wildlife in the breeding season spring months. Far to many are pounding the hills and mountains now, its unsustainable on sparse vegetation, irreparable damage will be a result. Total selfish thinking to pound beautiful Mountains and Glens to Bare Rock and mud slides.
@selwynmccausland4085
@selwynmccausland4085 3 года назад
Well in terms of these two munros there isn't any main routes or paths apart from the initial walk in/out which they followed on the video. They walked the route in reverse to the way i walked them. Its a bit of a stretch to think that Charlie/Mike's walks are going to lead to increased erosion/damage.
