I got the same setup as you and bought the same USB 3.0 to Dual DisplayPort Mini Docking Station - 4K - GBE (USBA2DPGB) and connected my second monitor to it. My Shadow Ghost has a Quadro P5000. Unfortunately, although I setup everything like you are describing Windows on my Shadow Ghost is not detecting my second monitor connected through the USB Display Port Docking Station. The support representative from StarTech.com (same device like yours just another brandname) tried everything he could to help me, also after watching your video. But we weren't able to get it running. Maybe you have an idea. At least I hope so.
Awesome video, Do you think if I wanted to stream on twitch and have the chat on the other display that it would work? Just want to ask since there support has no answers for anything I've asked them regarding setting up anything to the box itself. Thank you for your time
Hello James, thank you for your video regarding the Duol Monitor Setup for the shadow ghost. I would like to actualy know in detail how this setup works? I dont quite understand, what you have to configure after you plugged in all the hardware nad cables in order to get the shadow ghost software supporting duol mnonitors with one Device. I am looking forward hearing your answers kind regards and keep it up
The device is plug and play. Once you plug it into the usb port on the Ghost, your desktop will extend onto the other monitor. My setup is just has a usb hub before it goes into the ghost. This setup is not to be confused with their dual display tech that they have in beta which requires two devices and is not what this video is about.
@@JamesMccorn So to summarize it, we just need a ghost, two monitors connect one with th ehdmi port of the ghost and the other hdmi with the hub and then with the ghost and you can automaticly use two monitors
@@JamesMccorn and what i also would like to know is there anything in particular you need to install or get third party software to use this usb over ip funtionality Because besides of the Hardware aspect of the setup it is not quite clear how the rest works
Hey bro great video, I have one question though, so is the first screen as laggy as the second? Like what if you want to play a competitive game while having two screens? Would the first screen be laggy?
Hey man, I bought the adapter and have it connected to my Ghost. I installed the drivers per the directions but my monitors aren't being detected. Did you ever see this? I got them set on display port input.
USB over ip is very picky about distance from the data center.... my setup is 45 miles from the san jose data center... They are working on official multi monitor support on the alpha branch as of 12/20/19. Some aditional thoughts is that sometimes you need to do a "scan for new devices" in device manager...
@@JamesMccorn So my connection is DSL 25mbps. My datacenter is 45min away as well. Do I just not have a fast enough connection? My driver is installed correctly. Just getting "entering power save mode on my monitor" It's connected properly and everything. Connected to my Shadow's usb 3.0 port.
