The fact that I had to read a comment that unironically says: "Buffs are not viable in actual gameplay." really made me realize why so many people are struggling with the DLC as much as they are. Golden Vow and those 60% Damage Negation spell buffs are no joke. Like, they also give you an Item version of Golden Vow and those improved Damage Negation Livers for a reason lol.

I think that Bayle should count as a remembrance boss because he drops his heart which can be turned in for either of 2 different spells like a rememberance.

TBF another thing on the IGN guide the guy who made it was probably under a lot of pressure to get it done and uploaded *quickly*. I'm sure management wanted to get it up ASAP ideally before anyone else did.

That's strange, they always say you can de-agro Radahn by getting on Torrent and running away. See, you can't use Torrent in the Promised Consort Radahn fight, so what are they talking about?

As a enjoyer of (almost) all Spells, I can confirm that the dragon communion spells are not paticularly good. ... but I think they're neat.

I think enemies get more poise in every NG cycle, so maybe that’s why you didn’t get a stance break on Gaius?

btw phil tulok, when you took extra damage from gaius after rolling, it was probably not headshot damage, but counter damage. idk how counter damage works in elden ring exactly, but in dark souls, when youre in the middle of an attack animation (i assume rolls count too), you take extra piercing/thrusting damage. its different from bloodborne in that i think in bloodborne counter affects all physical types. as far as i know, no enemies outside of bow users can headshot you in er. it might sound like a pedantic difference (i know you hate pedantry in your comment sections), but if youre fighting a boss that uses thrust attacks, being countered will matter more than against bosses that use other damage types. also you dont need to be worried about low profiling your head into a boar tusk

if you're in light load you can dodge mesmer's signature move no problem, not like the ducky dance where you need to be certain distance away and have PhD in to triangulate the right angle to roll correctly

The wicker men with the nearby spirit springs are actually pretty quick to kill relative to the others if you're not restricting your equip options. While your restrictions don't allow for it, Flame, Protect Me, fire shield talisman +3, and fire resistant armor make it possible to tank the fire attack and spam pots. It'd have to be furnace pots on NG+7 though.

It might take me a few sittings but I'm gonna watch this

I love it when a dragon fight is designed in a way that rewards you for fighting them head on instead of tickling their toes. They did a fantastic job with that on midir, and I was very disappointed how much they messed it up on the ancient dragons in ER. Glad to see that the DLC tried to address that somewhat.

I know its not popular but I absolutely love the npc rush. If you do side quests you can get another summon npc and its just so much fun

Now that it's all said and done. What a DLC

To dodge the meteors, run to the right. The left has a meteor that sticks out a little farther which means that you will have to roll.

Commander Gaius was my reminder that 100% block shields and guard counters exist in this game. The dude's hit boxes are just so weird that dodging wasn't reliable enough for me.

I'm really enjoying the new direction so far.

I like the leda boss fight for purely narrative reasons, its cool that the more people you befriend the more of them come to help you, its a bit ganky but its cool narratively IMO

fun fact if you beat Dane before killing the saint of the bud (I forgot her name) or maybe before killing Messmer you can get the new foot-work weapon.
