Shadowgate theme is soooo beautiful! I decided to play it little slower so that the melody would sound even more beautiful. In the end you’ll hear choir sounds which I added afterwards.

Very nice and cool rendition. Gorgeous. I fell in love with the music from this game when I played it back in '87 and then again when I scored the official Shadowgate remake. To say I'm overly familiar with the music from this game is an understatement. Again, nice job, dig the vocals as well. Rich Douglas: having played the new Shadowgate, I enjoyed your reimagining of the soundtrack. I can also say I was pleasantly surprised to see your name pop up here. I have both your version and the old 8-bit classic downloaded on my phone and listen to them regularly. I had a few favorite soundtracks growing up. The ‘Legend of Zelda’ opening theme, this theme from Shadowgate and several songs from Final Fantasy. I’ve been obsessed with adventure games since there were adventure video games (you could even include titles such as Atari’s Jungle Hunt and Pitfall), but only a few had a soundtrack that I found so captivating I had to find them. Thanks for keeping it alive, to both you and Ms. Savia.

@@jonathanjimmyshearman2500 I disagree. They (IS/GA) weren’t bad soundtracks, but to me they were largely forgettable. Ironsword, I really preferred ‘Wizards and Warriors’ (the first game), and I never really got into Ironsword so much, so that might have flavored my opinion. I enjoyed Golden Axe, but it just didn’t have the same atmosphere that gave Shadowgate its adventurous feel. You feel alone, walking through the trials of the castle. The interface is annoying and dense, the music in certain rooms was grating, the puzzles can be a bit formulaic, and yet the whole experience was led in by that theme and I came to love it. The only one I can say that strikes me anywhere near as close to a ‘difficult journey’ would be the game ‘Black Mesa’ (Half Life remake) with its haunting piano intro (Joel Nielsen: Black Mesa Theme). But hey, everybody has their favorites, right?

I played this game back when it was new. It was around this time of year, when things are at their darkest and dreariest. This melody was so fitting and so memorable to me that it's popped into my head around deep winter every year since. I looked up a rendition of it to fulfill my annual tradition, and here you are with a marvelous cover. Thank you.

I still have a memory from the first time I played this game. Trying to be the hero, unchaining the woman locked away in a room, only to get eaten. Certainly taught me to be more cautious :P You have good taste in games.

wow, impressive piano performance! most covers on youtube are played by beginner pianists who just barely hit the correct keys but have absolutely no feeling or stability. i can tell you are a well-schooled pianist. and great cover. just lovely. playing it on repeat

Indulgent enviroments, catchy music, specific egotisms, adventurous feel, majestic moods, Shadowgate has the same impression traits as Doom in an chivalry RPG puzzle game, i always thought that was so wierd.

Shadowgate has a feint mind blowing indulgement and mythic euphoria mood/feel in it, which is the exact same as Doom, which produce a sensual indulgement. Very few games are made with mind blowing indulgement or mythic euphoria, which are reasons behind being more select. Gauntlet II, Ninja Gaiden III, and Final Doom all have this same quality. Indulgement and mythic euphoria is the best for science fiction no doubt about that which is what made Final Doom a hall of fame legend, even ask Audrey Hodges or Steve "Doomi" Kirbst. gamefaqs.gamespot.com/boards/916386-nes/68440917 Like the mention of depression feel, Karnov, Double Dragon II, and Mike Tysons Punchout have this quality.

Lapsena kutsuin peliä söpösti "Santokateksi". :D Tätähän ei käsittääkseni voinut ilman läpipeluuohjeita läpäistä, veljeni hankki jostakin printatut ohjeet postista ja pelasi pelin ekaa kertaa niiden avulla läpi joskus vuonna 1999. Oli kyllä lumoava kokemus nähdä viimein mitä kaikkea lukittujen ovien takaa ja salaperäisten käytävien päästä paljastuikaan. Upeat musat ja mieleenpainuva game over -musa myös. Se viikatemies karmi!

This is a great song, and definitely the best version of it I've heard! Works really well on the piano. Had the Swedish language version of this game on the NES. Brings back some scary memories :)

@@KatjaSavia well most are good and fitting for the game but i guess they not do good just by them self. But i guess the ending song hero of stormhaven would sound good on piano.. Also the castelvania series for nes had extremly good song which sound good on piano. Keep up the good work!
