What's at the bottom of a mine shaft? PART 2
Now that we know what was at the bottom of the shaft, we continue to explore some more areas of the mine. We head off to the stope that we promised to explore in Part 1 and find out what was at the end of the small manway, from this we take a look an another vertical shaft that is hidden behind a blockwork wall and then onto the wheel barrow before exploring the massive fall at the end of the level.

Feet up and get the booze out time, It's a Tom and Gary video :) We had a realisation recently, this is not the 'high' level. If you look on the maps, the 'high' level is on the opposite side of the valley, by a little buiding at the bottom of valley side, this is actually the firestone level. As for the low level, we have a video coming up on that a week tomorrow. Aha, first time I've seen a camera down that shaft. Yep, I couldn't work out why those workings were bricked up. I have heard that there were many superstiscions about ghosts etc, they sometimes would block and area or cover a shaft they suspected was haunted.

Oh wow, I love a good ghost story it really adds to the excitement and feel of the place, not so good when you're looking around alone though lol! Yes knew it was the Firestone level, the high level seems rather disconnected from the rest of the site, if it is the place I'm thinking of not far from the low level but opersite side -sort of near the kilns? There's another one further along as well, also blocked not far in that the maps show. I must search or the maps again as I haven't looked at them for years so would be interesting now we've revisited a few times. Great stuff, looking forward to watching the low level, we had a good walk around but before or RU-vid channel so took no video and only a few photos, it's changed a bit where that wall has come in on the left, was not quite as rough but it was a while ago. That was a very cool mine, I am wondering if there was a miners body by that boot remnant but buried in the debris a bit because there were two bones right by it. A great explore, thank you for sharing. x
