The official HD video for Shakin’ Stevens - Green Door, © 1981 Sony Music Entertainment (UK) Ltd. under exclusive licence to BMG Rights Management (UK) Limited.
Green Door, composed by Bob "Hutch" Davie and lyrics written by Marvin Moore in 1956, was recorded and released by Shaky in 1981. The track fast became a fan-favourite, spending 4 weeks at #1 in the UK Official Charts in the August of 1981, as well as securing 8 other top 10s globally in the summer of its release. Green Door is still widely regarded as one of Shaky’s most well known records and holds high critical acclaim.
Shakin' Stevens, one of the greatest hitmakers in UK chart history and a major national and international star for 40 years, will celebrate his incredible catalogue and career by releasing the lavish, 19-disc anthology bookpack 'Fire In The Blood', augmenting his body of studio work treasures and live treats. This awesome overview will be complemented by the 'Singled Out' collection on 3CD, 2LP and digital versions.

80s in Germany: I was watching TV with my parents as this clip showed up. I remember the green doors and the dance on the piano. I was squeaking the whole time and tell them "oh my god, look at him, isn't he great, doesn't he looks fanatstic, did you hear his voice, did you see his left eyebrow...?" I was so in love. He was my first crush. What a great great time. Thank you, Shaky. God bless you.

I was 8 circa 1981 & i remember asking mum to buy Green Door the single, Played it over and over on our Radiogram, People have to be mindful about how big Shaken Stevens & Radiogram`s were 🤣🤣

A long time ago....in a land far away (India) I was introduced to this song by Shakin Stevens. The person who introduced it to me was from Frankfurt DE, by the name of Konstantin Nicolidis....Wherever he is I hope he is safe now! ...From 1979 when I was introduced this song, to today 2023 in the USA I remember this very song!!

Same with me. I bought this long playing record to test my then new Sony direct drive turntable. And it was and still is awesome. Best part is the turntable and the record is still in good shape after 35 something years. Song is too good and so is the original analog recording. 😊👍

Remember going to Woolworths back in "the day" and a 7ich single was 89p!!!! An album was just under £5! Easier times wen u didn't have to pay like £50 for a pint of milk so to speak unlike nowadays its madness inflation is one thing but its EXTORTION imo in 2024! 😐

The original version of the video - fantastic! Tremendous video, the vocal is superb, this was Shaky's greatest moment and went a long way to making him the most popular singles artist of the 1980s in the UK.

@FC Salfermoserl I'm well aware this is not the original recording of this song. I said it's the original version of this video by Shaky. There was an edited video put out a few years ago. This is back to the first video he did for the song. I know the history of those songs, dating back decades before Shaky recorded them.

I have a friend called Steve. He has a green door. It used to black, but he painted it green two years ago. Whenever I go around to his house we laugh about what we got up to in our younger days, before he painted the door green. Memories.
