I was in the 4th grade when this song came out, I remember our gym instructors coordinating this dance with the whole school, every grade. It was a contest between every school in the district so they ended up recording it. It was the most fun I EVER had in school during that time.

Ever since I first heard this song back when it was released anytime I hear “Waka” (my friend says this sometimes lol...and also Fozzie from the muppets 😅) my immediate reaction is to say “this time for Africa”...this song is so ingrained in my brain that it’s a dang reflex even though it’s been so long since hearing the song 🤣

This is the only words sung to this song (no matter what language). The FIFA cup was played in South Africa that year and it’s the official song for the tournament. I used to Zumba to this song, we learned the part of the dance shown in the video and, I assume, our instructor added more. It was one of my favorite Zumba songs! I did Zumba through most of my first pregnancy and when I played this song for my daughter at 18 months, sh stopped in her tracks and started moving similar to how it must have felt in my womb! I was amazed!

The World Cup was held in South Africa in 2010. She fell in love with her babies daddy in that video. Each country has their own team. I’m Colombian so I’m Colombian soccer team fan #1. I also like Brazil, Argentina and Spain ❤️

This is one of my favorite songs. This song came out when I was in high school and my Spanish teacher had us memorize the lyrics to this song in Spanish. We then had to perform and it we were graded on our pronunciation and performance. She was the coolest teacher and years later this is still a favorite song of mine

I went to the local high school track to walk and it was an absolutely beautiful day out the sun was shinning and the breeze was perfect and I was the only walking around the track and on the field was a family playing soccer and every time there little guy scored a goal the dad would run over and throw him in the air so happily and he had a heavy African accent I didn’t understand what they where saying but it was beautiful to watch and made me so happy seeing this family just enjoying the day as a family and I couldn’t help but think of this song ❤️🥰 can’t help but smile with this song

Mad respect for that from a British lassy x I'm a Celtic FC supporter but there's so many amazing teams out there Britain and Spain has the best club teams imo but that's just my faves and there's tons of great moments in football amazing players players who show examples of decent human beings off the pitch there's things like players go to sick children's homes for example Football is more than a sport in my country ❤️

Major football fan. Germany National Team (although we’re in a decline at the moment). And Bayern Munich on a club level. This is the only sport I follow and I absolutely love it. This World Cup was when I fell in love with the sport. First World Cup in Africa.

Much respect that you called soccer "Football"!👍 There is so much choice of who to watch. There's MLS and I'm biased, but I love the TFC (Toronto). There are leagues in Mexico, South America...but I mainly follow European soccer. My most favourite team is FC Bayern Munich, the winningest team in the German Bundesliga. There's Serie A Italian soccer - superstar Ronaldo plays for Juventus. There is also Champions League which pits the best teams in Europe against each other.

Most of men in this video, that are shown with footballs in their hands are some of the most famous football players in the world. Messi, Pique (her boyfriend), etc. This video is legendary for unification of different nations too, whole world comming together for celebration of football. And yup, I do watch it with my dad, this is our little hobby when tournaments start, we always watch football together, although I don't have my favourite team, but I like Germans, Brazilians, Spain is also in the list of those who I root for most of the time.

Just wanted to shout out the kids dancing in the video. Little miss in the blue shirt is Angel Gibbs and little miss in the yellow shirt is Simrin Player. Both are in their early 20s now and both are very much still dancers.

Yesss watching football is 🔥🔥. I have to admit, football back then, so in the 2000’s and like till 2015 was better than now, but you have to watch Messi (he IS the greatest player of all time, GOAT). And the Premier League (England (the big 6)) is nice to watch and La liga (spain, Barca, real madrid, atletici madrid etc.) and the best tournament to watch for clubs is the UEFA Champions League and for country the World Cup and the Euro’s and the countries in south america are/were good so than you can watch the Copa America also

I watch football. It’s amazing. I watch the MLS, BPL. And I’ve watched other leagues if there’s nothing else that I’m watching on. Even if my teams aren’t playing, I’ll usually watch the matches. My BPL team is Manchester City, my MLS is Philadelphia Union cause I’m from right outside of Philly. Been to some games. 🤘🏻 I want to save up to go to a Manchester City game. Heard games in England are wiiiiild!

YES FOOTBALL IS THE BEST!!! there's club teams, and national country teams. The main focus is clubs cuz theyre always playing in yearly competitions like the champions league (major clubs include: Real madrid, barcelona, juventus, manchester united, liverpool, atletico...etc) , national teams matter in specific leagues like the world cup (the most watched event of all time) which takes place in a different country every 4 years. This song is about africa since it was for the 2010 world cup which was hosted by africa.

I'm not a sports person the only sport I watch I cheer the few times a year they broadcast it. Anyone who says cheerleading is not a sport all the bruises, close calls to a concussion, torn ligaments, ice and heat treatments and bottles of aleve and ibuprofen I went through says it was a sport.
