I had a bit of a hard time sleeping tonight, so I went in a binge of your videos, watching some of the “older” ones. Man Stu, this is such a great video. The laying off of the hands (my feeling) and the clock/wheel reference make so much sense. When I focus on moving my weight shift, like you demonstrate in other videos, the proper golf path just seems to open up to me. Strong grip in the fingers, focus on my weight shift, path takes care of itself. Then, at end of my backswing, as weight has transferred to what I feel like is my left foot middle/heal, I lay the club off as you discuss in this video, pull the club at what feels like 45 degrees, keep pressure down though the handle of my left hand…and I can confidently tell you, the ball goes where I want it to go. I tried for a long time to throw my hands through impact… and if I timed it perfectly, I could hit a power fade…but often times I’d miss fairways to the right. With this feel…the key for me is getting the weight on my left heal. Since as you state, the club wants to move away from us, focusing the weight shift internally to my heal equated to the in to out swing path I’ve been searching for…hitting a beautiful little draw, and as much aoa as I could ever need. Face Is king…as long as I pull left, and pressure the handle around my waist, I get great results. Almost everytime I hit a bad shot, it’s from old habits of dragging the club through. I’m shooting in the 70s fairly regularly because of this instruction. You honestly teach a swing that is beautifully different than any mainstream instruction…and I’ve watched thousands of hours of it. As always, very appreciative of these videos, and the fact that you give so much detail for free…you’re really helping grow the game. Thanks again!

Hello Sir. So i promised a small feedback. From too much inside with early extension and flipping hands. Today 🎉🎉🎉 😅 I took the broom drill 1-2-3. And kept everything connected under the left shoulder. ( been practising for 2 weeks) BUT. Today it all fell in place, i found the bush back from the left foot in to the ground. 😂🎉🎉🎉🎉 wow. Turning the hips back. Hitting down on the ball. 5 iron sounding like a rifle. 😂 So now i must thank you. Keep up the good work sir. You changed my golf perception. Im so great full. Sorry for my english. Kind regards and huge respect. Niels Storm. 🇩🇰⛳️🙏

Just wanted to get on your most recent video so you would find this easily. My son is a high school golfer (junior). He’s been playing since age 7. I’ve taught him by playing the game. We started on the green then worked out. I gave him a bit over sized clubs so he would swing them. He’s 16 and has no idea whatsoever about planes, tuck this, rotate that. Long story short, he’s s grip was strong but in the palm. He finally let me change it (it’s taken 2 seasons lol 😂). I’m glad I saw your grip series. I was close but your explanation of what it does was priceless.His confidence is soaring. He shot a competitive, personal and season team best round yesterday. We’ve practiced several times before playing. Thank you for not muddying instruction like most on RU-vid do. Oh yeah unsubscribing from every other “instructor” lol 😂

Stuart. The move at 15:56 is a life saver. When I started golf that was the exact move I did and I would destroy my irons. Long high and accurate. Then I got some bad advice and it's been a multi year struggle. Funny enough I followed the faldo series on more of a core swing. Good for off speed but never transitioned well into the full swing. I think with the propping up move I can finally solve my super long back swing. I watched an AMG video and they showed how little pros arms actually lift their arms relative to body and I think that is more attributed to the proper pressuring of the handle rather than mechanical movements. Ty vm.

I watched this hoping to figure out why my shots were poorly struck, draw/hook on some strikes, huge slice on others. Saw this and other videos of yours that suggest the feeling of pushing the grip down at the takeaway. Holy cow, a eureka moment. I was getting stuck on the downswing causing me to come either way too inside to out with clubface/path closed (hook) or poorly attempting to correct it causing slices. Shot even par 36. 9/9 GIR, all drives 280-290 fairways in regulation. One of golf’s greatest rounds! Thank you!!!!!!

My go to channel now. Trying to shallow ruined my golf swing for a whole year, introducing a slice when previously having a draw, getting the club stuck behind me and causing early extension as the recovery move, all from one poor piece of advice. When i finally understood that there is another way, one that does not require hours of practice to hone the timing the hands, I straightened up my ball flight, and my consistency went through the roof, especially off the tee. The broom drill was the moment I finally understood how to swing the club. I must add that the Malaska move also really helped in conjunction with your own teaching, I'd love to know your thoughts on that, but I think your channels mesh exceptionally well and have stopped me swinging my hands at the ball, instead getting that clubhead arcing on a much simpler path with increased clubhead speed.

Hi Stuart. I love your video's expecially the broom series. It's a breath of fresh air to see someone on RU-vid explaining things in such fantastic detail. Your knowledge of the golf swing is pretty incredible. May I just ask about pressure in the handle? I had a job understanding at first but the more I practise it feels like after the pull phase you are pulling the but end in towards your groin area. Would that be a fair assumption? Thank you and keep up the good work. By far the best on RU-vid. Regards Andy
@GoodGolfCoaching
@GoodGolfCoaching 10 месяцев назад
Hi Andy - hugely grateful for the wonderful feedback, very humbling. Regards the handle pressure, that would be a very fair assumption. Remember, if there is pressure going down on the handle, there needs to be pressure up, and that’s supplied by the legs. So, please watch my “power up” video, really important as an opposition to the input of the handle. Hope that helps and any further questions, please don’t hesitate Sir. Best wishes Stu 😊

This video was a disaster for my swing until…I watched it again. Me consciously trying to shallow the shaft did not work at all. It wasn’t until I thought of shallowing as a symptom of pulling the handle and where the handle needed to go that it clicked. Those thoughts also have me in a balanced finish for the first time since high school. Again, a symptom. The handle doesn’t travel to the inside, I don’t finish in balance. Got work to do on the driver, but many thanks Stuart! Take care.

One thing that you have showed me is how the opposite ends of the club act in opposite directions through impact - when the handle and clubhead both move towards the ball (out to right field) it feels tense and hard. When I get the handle IN and clubhead OUT at impact, the strike is insane, the distance is effortless and your body suffers much much less.

Hi Stu, Another fantastic video. I'm getting to grips (excuse the pun) of in transition pulling the butt end out towards the target line. Ive got a really good feel of my left elbow doing that and pointing out over the ball. Im really struggling with what comes next. If i feel arm rotation from there i get the pitch of the shaft too steep again. What im basically asking is can you do a video solely on the space and time from the initial pull, then into impact. I think youve already covered the pressure on the handle in that phase but i could do with a deeper explanation. Thank you

Stu, your lessons make so much sense but I can’t make it work for me. I’ve gone through your grip, broom and many other videos but all I do is hit the ball way right, big pull hooks or top the ball. Pulling the butt end of the club to the ball makes no sense to me. All I feel is the club head wanting to go outside my hands and handle. I used to be a single digit handicap but after not playing for a few years I’m clueless. I’m just trying to hit small shots with a sand wedge.
@danielloh3025
@danielloh3025 10 месяцев назад
I was in a similar situation a month or 2 back. After not playing for a few years, can’t hit the ball for nuts.. but the recent few sessions after discovering this channel has helped tremendously for me. But there are too many pieces, the grip, the pivot, the takeaway, the backswing, the downswing, the release, the impact, the follow through .. so many so many pieces and ‘secrets’ .. if I may suggest, watch the ‘Unlocking Golf Ball Compression: Power at Impact’, using the takeaway and understanding how the ball of your left hand acts as a lever, and hit 1/2 and 3/4 shots using your sand wedge. If done correctly, I can see very nice 50-60 m flop shots with my 58deg wedges at the range. Then use the same feel and go to your longer clubs. Hope this helps.

Still have no idea how pulling the butt end of the club at the ball doesn’t cause the club head to cross out, over the hands and handle which Stu says you don’t want.
@danielloh3025
@danielloh3025 10 месяцев назад
@@TheMrxwall I think I got that figured out up to 3/4 swing or where the left arm is parallel. You just pull towards the ball with roughly the same shaft pitch. What I am not so clear about is the feel from the top of the backswing to the 3/4 position. If I pull with my left arm to the 3/4 position, the club head and club shaft might tilt forward and cause the outside in .. and from my observation, the feel appears to be a vertical pull with the right arm from the top to the 3/4 position instead which should cause the shaft pitch to lay off or at least maintain the same pitch at 3/4 position. This is what I figured and will be trying next .. 😅. My current swing produces a straight left shot with no slice which I figured might still be slightly outside in plane and a neutral to close clubface at impact. Hope Stuart or if any kind soul can help clarify whether my understanding is correct. 😄

Hey MrX - it so difficult to diagnose exactly where you need to focus your attention. I try to help people understand the various assets of the golf swing. Whilst I’m not trying to push coaching, a session with me if you’re in the UK would help you or even a Skillest session to give me the best idea of where your attention needs to be most. Sorry I can’t be more specific but work through the areas/videos will give you the best chance. Sorry I can’t be more specific sir. Best wishes Stu

Stuart, why might the golfer arrive at the top of the backswing laid off? Club points left of target at the top. And from a laid off position, how in the world could you avoid steepening the shaft on the way down? Seeing as it's already extremely shallow, it seems impossible that any movement downward would be steeper.

I find on my SkyTrak launch monitor that angle of attack and the spin it yields makes a massive difference in distance as well as landing angle. It can be 20 yards or more with a 7 iron swing around 85 mph. Is this correct or something wrong in the simulator? I've developed a really shallow angle of attack because of the huge distance gains and better landing angle.
@GoodGolfCoaching
@GoodGolfCoaching 7 месяцев назад
Hi there… shallow angle of attack with irons will reduce spin rates and increase yardage for sure, nothing wrong with your monitor there. You will battle with strike and consistency of distance if your AoA is too low though. Hope that helps. Best wishes Stu 😊

@ThinkingMan482 7 месяцев назад
@intelligentgolfperformance I know it's not a shot I'll use on the course but using your approach I find I can deliver a ton of shaft lean and drive the ball a mile with lofted clubs. The strong grip combined with the shat lean and the swing around the body has given me great ball striking and lots of distance especially with a shadow angle of attack.
