I used to be part of a dance squad years ago for the Spurs and I would see all these 7 feet guy’s up close and yes, it’s ridiculous so I can’t even imagine him or Yao!!

Well can we agree that the Spurs are the greatest small market franchise in the history of American sports? The way they manage their team and the success they were able to achieve for being in a small market is otherworldly! Most big market teams can’t even do this. Even the teams that have more titles have been around since the beginning of time it seems like and have had a lot of struggles compared to the Spurs. Yes they have missed the playoffs the last five years, but if you look at their history since being in the NBA it has been remarkable how much success they were able to have all things considering.

Over 5 year gap is the longest in franchise history. Plenty of teams have gone longer stretches. A nice sized city further south than parts of Mexico has become a bastion for basketball. In my opinion, the Spurs are the best parts of sports fandom. The unexpectedly always competent Spurs will always be competitive.

How expensive do you think it would be to move from 4 to 2? I don't necessarily think that we need to move up, but we have so many 2nd rounders. Washington could be in between guys and could still get one at a cheaper price while picking up a few seconds as they rebuild. Sarr seems like a foregone conclusion but I would be ok with parting with 2nds if there was a guy you really liked.

Kawhi wanted to win as a Spur... The Spurs disrespected him, so he decided to leave... In that off-season he was thinking about coming back after talking to Pop, and that's when reports changed and said he was gonna stay... However when the front office low balled him in contract negotiations (especially after giving LMA the max after his horrible play in the playoffs) Kawhi took that as the last straw

I'm not saying the Spurs are without fault, but many sources have indicated he was leaving no matter what. Toronto proved that, he wins a chip with a competitive young core and still left in free agency to go to LA. The man was leaving no matter what

Kawhi obviously wanted out and wanted to go home to LA. The way he did it was shameful. It seems like the Spurs have some regrets about the way they handled it. But Kawhi ultimately acted selfishly. In retrospect it may have been for the best because clearly he's injury prone and can't be relied on to stay healthy. It's unfortunate because he's a great player.
