Shane: *Now you're gonna take these bags and you're going to go* Otis: *I ain't leaving you behind* Shane had offered to sacrifice himself so Otis could get the medicine back to Carl. Otis declined. Shane believed only one could make it, and since he couldn't convince Otis otherwise, he did what he had to do to save the kid he loved. Even Rick said he would've done the same thing while walking with Shane in the woods. I've always thought Shane wanted Rick to kill him, and it was pretty much confirmed in Rick's last episode that he did. Shane couldn't live with the fact that he wouldn't be able to father that child (Judith) the way he wanted to. Instead of committing suicide, he had Rick do something that would harden him to the world they live in. Kill your best friend. Look what came of Rick. The character of Shane was *SO* deep... I miss him deeply and would've loved to had seem him and Rick tag team on The Governor, The Cannibals, The Wolves and The Saviors. I don't think Shane would've let Negan live though.
Yes, even Jon Bernthal himself said that that's what they were going for; Shane had Rick kill him, so that it would make him a stronger man that would be able to protect Judith
@@ChristosAnesti33 he was taunting Rick out there the whole time, and even holstered his gun, telling Rick to draw. Shane had a death wish plain and simple. Why in the hell couldn't he just leave with Andrea and come back in S4 or something. Maybe return to save Hershel (making up for the killing Hershels walkers).
Micah Heard aw man, you don't have to tell me about it! TWD is not the same without Shane Walsh. I'm embarrassed when I see what the show has become now
Shane knew how to survive, everyone keep saying that Shane was too ahead of his time but not at all, he was prepared and the rest of them weren’t, Rick become Shane in a way where he don’t take chances with some damn strangers , sadly Rick had to lose ALOT of people before realizing it...
im so angry that Shane left us... He kept this show alive. He was funny. He was brave. He was protective and he was right the whole time. He was our friend. #Goodbye_Shane ); I love you
Not gonna lie Shane was probably one of the most in depth and relatable characters in this show. He's a perfect example of human nature and drive to survive in the face of a stacked deck
There two personalities were on a collision course, they both loved Lori but they couldn't co-exist together. One had to go and that wasn't going to be Rick. Shane should've left with Andrea. Rick was a dead cause.
It's nice to see people with the same mindset as Shane in their comments. If not, you wouldn't be here. Great actor, impressive character. Still miss him...
Shane still my favorite character it's sad he died VERY soon i would like to see him fight Governor Merle Negan and Cannibals whit Rick Glenn and Daryl that would make the Show more awesome
The first two seasons will always be the best in terms of quality. Zombie were an actual factor. Oh and Shane was still alive, which makes my first two points irrelevant.
This was wonderful. I'm with everyone who stated that Shane Walsh is the best character, the most realistic one, and very complex and emotional. I love your videos about his character. I'm hoping one day you'll make one of him and Andrea. My favorite pairing! This video--wow! And perfect song to go with Shane's character. #TeamShane Shane always and forever!
I can only imagine how amazing it would have been to see Shane react to his daughter all those years later, like if he found Rick and crew and saw his daughter in Season 9.
Me too man, the tension between shane and the governor would be so great if Shane and Andrea had developed a deeper chemistry, then the Governor would kill her. Shane would lose his mind and hunt down the governor for that
The only dead character I miss the most! so misunderstood because he adapted quickly I know he had faults falling for bloody Lori and being a bit selfish but damn Shane was the man he got killed way too early and most of the fans know it you see so many fans comment how much they miss Shane we know for a fact he wouldn’t have fucked around with the Governor, Negan or Whisperers he was the strength Rick needed in those times especially with Negan
Shane was my favorite character with Rick as a close second. I was one of the first to argue for Shane's sake not because I blindly liked him but because I wanted to see him survive for the good.he had so much potential to be an epic brother for Rick. They could have turned back from where they were.
I’d love to have a character as deep as Shane again. The type of character that you sort of know where they’re mentally at but also know that they could always surprise you. The type of character that shows their thoughts through their acts and expressions instead of just outright saying how they feel like they do in the show nowadays. I miss that
After rewatching the show I now know that Shane was the smartest one in the first group. He wasn't crazy, he was in the right mindset for the changed world. Rewatching the show also made me realise that a lot of the first group where terrible people, just "We don't like Merle, so just leave hom on the roof" wtf!? Glenn fought to get Ed buried, not burned, but no one but, ironically enough, T-Dog and Daryl really cared what happened to Merle.
Very good point bro, but i dont think so cause there are so many situations that required humanity, think that Shane dont have, he just survive no matter the situation, and who he needs to kill for it.Shane is the first survivor of the walking dead, with no doubts, but at some situations, the leader need some humanity.
Shane era um cara bom, um dos melhores personagens, tinha tudo pra ter ido mais longe, pena que aquela morte do Otis que ele foi obrigado a fazer tenha mudado ele e acabado com ele.
The show used to be more realistic during the early seasons, characters didn’t survive in impossible situations. Like look at Rick, somehow surviving being impaled, loss of so much blood and a direct explosion.
