Shane Wright's reaction at the 2022 NHL Draft in Montreal when he is passed on from being picked 1st and 2nd overall by Montreal and the New Jersey Devils.

Quite honestly, I don’t blame him for being upset! Being projected to go first overall all season long and being talked so highly of I’m that way and then waiting to be drafted fourth, I see why he’d be pissed.

it can often be a microscopic difference, many factors how well a player performs is based on how the team plays with him too, and also how opposing teams handle them. Makar went fourth, he'd be 2017's first overall pick now though.

Totally agree. Everyone is giving him shit but i would be mad too, what else is supposed to happen. Everyone is making a huge deal out of the draft. Live broadcast and stuff and then youre supposed to be happy that youre not the first pick? Like what else should he do? Its not like he went crazy, run to their table and said that it was a mistake or anything he just looked kinda supprised and disappointed. Kid is like what? 18? Come on, the expectation we have on hockey players is crazy….

@@noahaviera I was at the draft and the guy took like 2 hours to give interview and autograph and was acclaimed like a king by the fan base. Must have also been confusion and a lot more emotions.

Agreed. I'm getting SB Seahawks vibes from a few kids on their roster who want to earn their stripes. Seattle could become deadly over the next few seasons if this continues

This kid wrote on his twitter "I'm the best in the draft and should be picked first" 🤣 that's not a chip that's immaturity. He should know 1. Teams pick based on need, 2. He can't compare a center to a RW, LW,D... So saying he's the best is an idiotic statement

Unbelievable he fell to seattle at number 4! And to think teams passed on him because of his “attitude,” albeit in the second most violent field sport in the USA. He’ll be the one to prove pure talent is unteachable but maturity is learned. Cant wait for him to light up the league

Well, in Habs's shoes, choosing between Slaf and Wright, I am pretty sure it was a tough decision. And Devils do not need an another center, they have some many good prospects at center position. I bet Coyotes choosed Cooley over Wright because Cooley is an American.
