Shanell's story (growing up in a cult) 

If my 30-something husband had been pursuing a 17 yo girl for a second wife, I would have exploded with RAGE. At him, not the girl. In other words, I live in normal society with normal expectations of normal monogamous marriage. These poor young people. But this is NOTHING compared to SIBLINGS getting MARRIED! Good Lord, save these people from these terrible leaders.

The Order's "courtship" process reminds me of middle schoolers playing house. Middle schoolers would end up in a disaster too.

To all the survivors of things like this and bad things in general, I'm proud of you. Keep going. You are living proof that things do get better and you are a hero. Always remember that.

Makes me so sad for your cut short childhoods. When I was 11 I was playing with baby dolls and make biggest dream was just to spend all summer playing at the pool. I didn’t even get my period till I was 14. Also, thank you for sharing your stories and being so open. It’s a great dialogue for other girls and women being forced into these situations.

Memories from young ages like 4/5 are very common when they’re trauma . Especially when it’s such a moment that changed your thought process , that was the reason why that memory is ingrained. I have several traumatic events I remember vividly from around 4 also

I myself have never ever been in a relationship, let alone have it be what your life revolves around from such a young age. You all are so brave to make the decisions that you have even though it often times came with sacrificing relationships. Not easy. You all are my She-roes!

My father was from an LDS family. My sister was baptized LDS but both my father and sister are now ex LDS members. My mom didn't want to let me get baptized in the LDS church. Now I see why. I actually always felt weird going to see my aunt's in Utah. Idk Utah rubbed me the wrong way. Now after watching your videos I see why.

I read a dream book once and it said you can only have dreams with ppl you have seen before so if u have a dream about a random person to u you would’ve had to have seen the person somewhere and it could b someone that u just noticed and passed by on street that ur subconscious kept in its memory isn’t that weird??!!!

My daughter and I watched the show. We got most of the way thru it. I think the last one I saw, or one of the last ones had to do with The Order bank and one of you getting your money out. And then I heard about you guys going to court over it. Wow! It's good to know you guys are doing okay.

I’ve actually went to some of the Kingston dances before and I’m I’m not related to them at all, my friends sister is married into the family, and I come from some of the other religions groups in Utah but they are totally not like the Kingston’s.... I knew that they were on the hunt for women but damn! I didn’t know this much about them!

The whole thing is surreal. It's like I'm listening to it, I know it's the truth, but it still doesn't seem real at the same time. It's insanity I don't understand why the whole thing isn't being shut down.

In Colorado you don’t have to have an officiant . You can sign the papers at the courthouse and call it good . Heck it used to be at the DMV!! And yes it’s disgusting that you can marry your first cousin here also .

If an outsider wanted to join the order would they be able to? I’ve always wondered this !

this cult clearly developed some very organized grooming practices. members were trafficking their own kids to specific people within the cult, and there were probably more secret agreements and contracts which motivated members to use their own kids as currency . There were probably alot of benefits and rewards for every adult who participated in this, and definately alot of controls in place to manipulate or silence anyone who refused to participate. It sounds like an obvious case of criminal exploitation of young women, where they were being trafficked to religious fanatics without any legitimate choice, no way to say no, and many people reenforcing this. hopefully there were or will be charges and prison sentences for those involved in the targeting, trafficking, and exploitation of young women and girls in this case, because there is probably alot of information and evidence in the lived experiences of those who survived this.

Im so fascinated with alternate belief systems in general. But you guys have been so interesting to learn about. So in the order, are teenage girls allowed to come and go or do they keep tabs on you? Do you have curfews and can you hang out with other family members of the opposite sex or is that frowned upon because you might eventually be paired up or engaged? Shannell mentioned she went Idaho. Did she go alone or with others? Sorry for so many questions. I have tons more.
