Taiwan's time for independence have come and gone a long time ago. I would say the time was in the 70s and 80s, probably peaking in the 90s. Bu the government was too relaxed and took too much of a laissez-faire approach. I don't agree to China claiming the whole of South China Sea. I think each country should contribute to the security of their coasts and borders. South China Sea should be the shared responsibilities of all parties in the region. We certainly do not need US intervention and coercion. ASEAN is a cooperation and should always talk to each other before asking an outside force to intervene.
