That is false. Kobe was a bench player when Shaq arrived in LA and Shaq was dominant force that got the Magic to the Finals years before. Chuck is wrong when he says Kobe carried Shaq. Literally, people said "Shaq and Kobe", not the other way around.

I know I'm talking about football instead of baseball, but there's a lot of legends in sports who never won a ring and still deserve to be in the hall of Fame. Winning championships is a team effort that not 1 person can carry on their own. Some people just have bad luck. Chris Paul deserves a ring. Larry Fitzgerald one of the best to do it for the Cardinals stayed with his team the whole time. Yeah they were willing to pay him, but so would any other team and he decided to stay loyal. On top of playing with a bunch of different quarterbacks and STILL almost winning a ring against the Steelers and we all know how that ended up. Fitzgerald never won a ring but I'd be damned if he didn't make it in the hall of Fame. I would put him as the second best receiver of all time behind Jerry Rice and he never had the star power around him like Jerry did. Long story short people shouldn't be judged solely on rings on how good a player is. I always found that dumb. The one exception to that maybe is Tom Brady because he proved he doesn't need Bill Belichek with him to win
Kobe wanted Shaq to stay at peak shape, to work on his strengths and weaknesses, because Kobe wanted to win all the time. Kobe had the heart of a champion, absolutely serious about the game. His competitive spirit could be called obsession. Shaq got less and less invested as he got more championships, he got tired and lazy after all the physicality that he has to endure throughout the seasons because of how he plays. Imagine having to continuously body 200 lb+ people for 3 whole years to win championships. A glass, no matter what it’s made of, can only hold so much water until it’s full.

When Shaq said no one’s gonna remember Charles for his rings I think Charles gonna be remembered just as much as Shaq if not more for the mark he left. It’s even more impressive he’s as popular as Shaq without being a champion and winning MVP over MJ speaks volumes.
They're going to remember Barkley for being fat, not being very articulate, the "I'm a dumbass moment" on national TV, for saying outlandish things on TNT, not being very bright and for making other people angry - and maybe after all of that, his appearance in Space Jam. A lot of people have already forgotten that Barkley was a good player because of the things he's done and said while being on Inside the NBA. 😄

Chuck always competed on the court far above Shaq's size , strength , intelligence & heart , while being six foot six , 260 lbs. Keep givin' to em' Chuck!!! hahaha.

Barkley: 25.6 ppg 12.2 rebounds per 5.1 assists 52% FG Shaq: 29.7 ppg 13.6 rebounds per 3.8 assists 3 blocks 57% FG Barkley made the finals that season and lost in 6 to the Bulls in a situation where the Suns were up late and really should’ve forced a game 7 at home. Shaq and Kobe led the Lakers to a 15-1 postseason record (which is 2nd best all time after 2017 GS which went 16-1 with KD). Shaq probably gets the nod because of the fMVP but keep in mind that he had Kobe while Barkley gave MJ and the Bulls all they could handle with a bunch of glorified role players
That 93 suns team had a lot of good players. KJ, dan majerlie, tom chambers, cedric caballos, and danny ainge. They won 51 games b4 adding Chuck, and then he made them a 62 win team.
The irony is while he uses his rings to deflect with Chuck, it’s actually an indictment on his career and his work ethic. He SHOULD have won more rings. Kobe admitted as much before his passing and HE STILL got sensitive after Kobe made those remarks and clapped back at him on Twitter. Shaq just needs to grow up man. Smh.

@@gc4479 please post here his finals numbers. Apart from game 1 they were mostly under 5 pts. Maybe a few 10pt games. Piece sure, but should never boast about rings averaging 7 pts in finals
