Promoting or “plugging” your own creations can be difficult, especially in academia and science. In this video, I share a recent project I completed for my PhD and offer a few personal philosophical views on communicating your own contributions. Long story short, I think you should.
I hope you find the geology I describe here interesting. Generally speaking, I describe a few of the steps I took to get from a kernel of an idea to a finished peer-reviewed article. We investigated the timing of rock uplift and exhumation in the Little Belt Mountains of central Montana and considered our results in the context of a regional tectonic synthesis. Geology is beautiful.
