Okay so maybe im an odd duck but When he said "are you OK?"...."You Scared me for a minute there" I actually laughed and decided I liked this guy especially for making me laugh at a joke I'd have rolled my eyes at if most people attempted to get a chuckle out of me.. Thank you! I didn't realize the plate around the beater bar comes off. I was able to locate the source of where the dirt was staying. Mine is cordless. I guess I need to check it once a week.
I was wondering why my Shark Rocket wasn’t picking up anything. Turns out it was my brush roll! It was clogged with so much hair and string! I’ve always kept up with cleaning the filter monthly and cleaning out the canister, so I was bummed thinking I was going to have to buy a new vacuum so thank you for this video! Very helpful! Also, my vacuum seemed like it was louder before cleaning it. Afterwards it was fine, like when I first got it. ☺️

Thank you so much Dan! You just saved me $169 lol I was going to throw my vacuum out the window because I cleaned every piece and couldn’t open up the vacuum roller attachment. The stuff that came out of it was NASTY and stuck in clumps in the tube. Lol I have a dog and a cat and I hadn’t cleaned it for a year. Ur vacuum was clean compared to mine. Now it works like new!!!

This is the video I needed. I don't like how you cannot take the filer off in the canister because that gets clogged all the time. The toothbrush idea was great though. Thank You!
Hi Dan, thank you for the video! I have the identical model to the one shown and don't know if you double checked the two upper filters above the canister. I wash those out every couple of months to maintain full suction. Very easy to wash with water and just a matter of rinsing until it's drip clean, no soap or detergent needed. Also, there is a smaller filter in the exhaust area that should as well be cleaned out periodically.
@@susanjohnson9236 There should be two individual filters for this Rocket model. One that is approx 2 inches thick and looks more like a foam material and another that is thinner and looks more like layers of "paper". Rinse out the two parts under the sink just like rinsing out a sponge (no soap or detergent needed). Keep rinsing and squeezing out water until it's "clear". Just air dry after.
The filter you were trying to reach opens from the front on the orange part...the 2nd filter is located on the orange square like part..basically if it's orange it comes apart or opens in some way.
I loved the video. I have a different model. I took out three soft filters and washed them. I checked for the rollers turning- that was awesome to learn. I checked the top of the tube and that is where I found my problem, a mass of hair clogged at the the top of the tube. I'm just not sure how to check if there is a clog further down. How can you see all the way down the tube when it is connected on one end and dark?
Great video but I need more in-depth help for the main motor housing disassembly. Mine recently started making a strange sound, different from the full tank or clogged filter sounds. I immediately shut it off to avoid causing any further damage. I wanted to remove the housing to inspect everything within the motor area but can't even get the housing off. I'm by no means am expert or even knowledgeable about vaccums but am fairly mechanically inclined & have done such things on other appliances & various machines & techs. Any help would be great.
I think this one also has a filter on the very top. Mine was not sucking no matter what I had done until I realized that it had a filter on the top. I just took it off and cleaned it and I'm hoping that that fixed it. There's even a little sticker on it saying if you do not clean this once a month then it could affect your suction. Everything else is up the par.
Too bad you couldn't replace the filter in this vacuum. I have a similar 2021 shark vacuum which gave me a headache to clean and replace the brush roller. I will take a look at its filter, but I'm sure it will not be easy to replace. Anyhow, thank you for your video.
Nice job with this video but there was still stuff left on the rug when you were completed. I have this unit- it doesn’t have good suction after I completed the cleaning steps. I’m gonna probably buy a Dyson - the shark just doesn’t pick up on wood floors at all
I have the same and the top filter spot gets so hot immediately even though I put new filters in all of it but that top blower is burning hot? Any ideas? And thanks so much for sharing your skills with us. 🇨🇦✌🙏🙏🙏
I have a a shark and its all clogg free but yet still not picking up or any suction also when stand it up right to say use the hose its lile it switches of but u can hear a really low whirring noise
Do you have a video on how to replace the rubber tube from the main vac. to the wand ? It is between the wheels. I am stumped. I could fix this on my electro lux. Or do I need a new Shark ?

A little help? Brand new Shark, just like the one in this video, the brush has stopped rotating. I have used it 3 times and it had maybe 20-25 of my long hairs around the brush that I cleaned off. But the brush seems very tight and difficult to turn . Any suggestions?
sorry to hear your troubles, it's not un heard of that the motor could seize up, hopefully thats not your issue. It may need more intensive break down and cleaning around the roller area closer to the ends.
I use these vacuum for my job cleaning buildings, not a wise choice. The bottom wears down fast, starting with the brush not turning, and the hose is so cheap on the bottom it always gets split. These vacuums suck time to find a better brand.
