Brush roll definitely did not seem to be turned on. I've owned a few sharks and they all had brush roll indicator lights, which I did not see illuminated in this video. I'm really interested in getting a premium vacuum, but I expect honesty about what I'm actually gaining with a premium vac over commodity vacs like shark.

I would take a HEPA bagged vacuum over a bagless anyday... I don't care how good the bagless vacuum cleans...they are such a pain to maintain vs a bagged vacuum

I have a shark and i got a riccar on loan. Running the shark vs the riccar is like running a hairdryer vs running a chainsaw. I’m a riccar convert

Love Riccar. Truly the best and they last twenty years or more. They start at $400 but they are all metal replaceable parts and are made for a lifetime. My friend has one that’s 25 years old and works way better than my Dyson.

I was looking at the miele c1 classic but I heard it's not as good on carpet. So this would be a better option for someone with mostly hardwood floors and carpeted bedrooms?

The Riccar R25 is better but the sharks powerhead clearly wasn't on. Not a fair comparison at all.

I would have rather seen you use a Shark Apex or the new Vertex against the Riccar. That looked like an old model Shark.

Geez this is borderline misinformation. The brush roll is not even turned on on the Shark. And you know it’s not turned on. This is not a fair comparison. The speaks volumes about your business practices.

Really good point! I am in the market for a new vacuum, and intentionally giving the Riccar an advantage makes it seem like the Riccar wouldn't do as well in a fair comparison. It also now makes me wary of ever trusting reviews by this guy because I now know he's dishonest.

Next time turn the brush roll on with the shark. The Shark would have picked that up very easy as well.

I love your comment a lot of these vacuum gurus try to get people to buy these expensive vacuum cleaners which they don't work no better than the stuff you can find at Walmart or Target or Sears or Kmart I need one of those other store's best by Sam's Costco all of them vacuums work the same a lot of people want you to spend a lot of money which people don't realize we are still in the pandemic the to covid-19 so a lot of people don't have money like that to buy expensive vacuums and I'm not going to spend my voice a $700 on a vacuum cleaner when my Hoover that I had for over 18 years still works great so I love your comment and we need more people like that to speak out

@@zmanifest agreed. They should focus on the longevity/build quality and ease of maintenance in their sales pitch because that’s what sets these machines apart. Performance is very similar.

@@calvinbryant1124 They don’t work the same. The Riccar is definitely a better vacuum then the Shark. The agitation you see in this video from the Riccar isn’t possible on any Shark.While I personally own a Shark and I don’t think the brushroll was turned on in this video it’s not in the same league as a Riccar

Notice how the hair test at 5:29 is purposely rigged for the Shark to perform worse than the Riccar. In the shark’s lane, there is much more hair and it is much more ground down deep into this rug. The riccar’s hair lane just has the hair sitting on top of the mile for the most part and there is less of it. I love both Shark and Riccar, they are both outstanding brands that make great cleaners. Shark has started to go down in quality for sure, but all it takes is a little research to find a Shark machine that you will live, as long as you love it back and perform normal maintenance on it. That being said, I’m almost positive Riccar machines are better in general. They better be for their price! I’m joking but yeah, I love both of these but I think most people will be happy with either of these and for most of us a Riccar is just not in our price range.

First of all the brush isint even on , so how is it supposed to clean well,second comparing a 100$ Walmart special to a 700$ vaccum cleaner there’s definitely a big difference rigged test.

I have the Riccar Brillance. It was a replacement for a Riccar that I had for more than 20 years. I liked the older Riccar better. The Brillance is really heavy. I know it has to be heavy so it will get down into the carpet to pull out pet hair. However, the suction through the attachments is not as good as my older Riccar. If I need to pinch something up, I don’t use the attachment brushes-just use the wand. The older Riccar was great to clean my car. It was maneuverable. The Brillance is not and because the suction is bad when I attach the brushes, I wind up using just the wand. I hate having to drag out the Brilliance and just wish it were more versatile. I miss the old one I had.

why not compare the vertex comp in price to the Riccar. Plus the duo head is terrific at pet hair. My Riccar is great but constantly gets jammed and tangled with dog hair in the old style roller head.

This is a very bias review. The brush roll was not engaged on the Shark. Is that the only was to beat the Riccar?

The suction motor on both vacuums sound exactly the same. When he ram the shark the second to if you look in the window you can clearly see the brush roller is not on. It’s spins forward and backward as he pushes and pulls the vacuum. This was a totally bogus demonstration and a complete lie.
