With a refined strategy, I crushed my previous speed run record for Stranded Deep. I never thought I would get the time this low! My 1st speed run was over 3 hours, and now I've got it down to under 45 minutes!! Crazy stuff!

I really would love to see you do a series on the forest, your game play and tutorials would be perfect! Especially as the sons of the forest should be dropping some point this year! Still getting new players and I would point them in your direction (as I do for your Stranded tutorials 👍)
I think you're the only speedrun I watch where the comment section still talks negativity about the glitches. Very fun to read every time you post. Great run, and great luck in the future!
What Shawnaldo is suggesting can save you time by using the same fuel still twice (once before going to the boss once more when coming back) and thus reducing the number of component you need.
Fuel takes a stupidly long time to cook. If I was to try that, I think I would have to cook one batch of fuel the 1st night (2nd island) and then the 2nd batch at the carrier. I don't think there is enough time to cook the fuel between getting to the carrier and getting back from killing the final 2 bosses. Maybe I will try it and see how the timing works out....
Great Job!!! I've watched a lot of your videos and all are very good. Maybe you could drink the coconut water before making the breath boost or maybe you did it so fast I didn't catch it.
Yeah, you could do that, but food and water are not really that big of a concern when you are only playing the game for 2 and a bit in-game days. In this run, I actually had very few rations, whereas in most of my runs I have plenty and can just eat one whenever my food or water needs to be topped up.
Congrats!!!! That's cool the speedruns have all the categories for the different types of speedruns... Are you willing to be the crazy person who does the Glitchless/Random Seed/No Raft run? LOL Not sure if it would save time, but what if you built the fuel stills when you first get to the aircraft carrier island? If you get the potatoes cooking before leaving to fight the two bosses, they might be done by the time you get back. You might not have to sleep that last night.
I don't think there is enough time, as the potatoes take so long to cook. Glitchless, random seed without a raft. No thanks! Even if I tried to do that, it would take a ridiculously long time and I probably don't have enough disk space to record it - lol. Not high on my list of priorities...
I'm definitely kidding about doing glitchless/random/no raft. Would take so long, unless you got lucky and found the eel right away... Realistically, I think your next challenge should be setting the record for %hard, since you're in the zone with this seed. Also can't let SpeedyDeep have all the Boss kill records!
Aha, thanks for the shoutout man! If you think I'm doing random seed without using glitches you're mad, no reason we have to do random seed glitchless raftless funless runs lol
Yeah, random seed is bad enough. If you can do one with one of the raft glitches, then maybe, just maybe we can consider one with the speed swim glitch, but even that would be a huge time commitment (visibility is terrible when swimming). And yeah, glitchless random is probably the last thing either of us wants to do!!
You don't need everything in a speed run. You only need what you can use to actually escape. The motor parts etc are for a raft motor or a gyrocopter motor, and neither are needed to escape. The parts you need for the airplane that you escape on are only available by killing each boss. 1 part for each boss.
Good for speed runners but also good information for regular players. I tried to look through your older videos to see what the "speed glitch" was. Someone asked and you told him he needed to ask you on speedrun.com. Why is that? Is it some sort of secret? Just curious why that's the case.
It's a real game changing glitch, that shouldn't really be used in normal game play. I just don't want to ruin the game by having everybody and their dog using it. Plus, I don't want to piss off the devs. Anyone that really wants to know how to do it can private message me on speedrun.com and I will spill the beans there.
I checked it out. Excellent seed for a play through, as there were a lot of islands right around the home island that all had tanker wrecks. You'd get a ton of loot. Not many potatoes though, which is a problem for speed running.
