Excellent!!! Things seemed to line up nicely and you kept going in spite of the few setbacks and still got it under 30. It was a nail - biter at the end with just a few seconds to spare. Congrats!
every time i watch one of your runs swear i keep hear the music from one of Summoning Salt's videos lol. thanks for all the videos and amazing work in the game. i play it as slow as i can lol and try and relax, fun game just wish i could host a dedicated server and play some real multiplayer with my wife
It took me a long time to kill my 1st boss. They're not so bad once you figure out the tricks on how to kill each one. For newer players, use a big raft that you can move around on for the squid, keep moving and throw refined spears at the boss until it dies. Other weapons do half the damage, so you have to throw twice as many. For the EEL, it is easiest to be in the water and use the shipwreck as shelter while you throw spears at the eel. For the Meg, be in the water, just under the whale flipper and throw spears at the Meg when it swims by. Use a breath boost or air tank to help you stay under water longer (he will attack when you surface).
@@Sussxguy there’s also a bit of a cheaty way if you stay under the orange thing you the squid can’t hit you but you may need a bit more than inventory space and for me the eel and Meg didn’t jump out when I was on my raft
Whoa. I just started playing this game a couple weeks ago as a filler game. Nothing to get too serious about. So, I haven't watched many videos on it. And, until now I never knew the end. It's a Star Trek time hiccup. And, it just loops back. Now I know that, I can delete it and move on to something else. I see this as a win. Thank you.
Yup, it will be extremely difficult but should be possible. The end cinematic scene is no longer part of the official time - the timer now ends when you launch the aircraft, so that helps.
Wow man, now Im truly impressed at just how refined youve got this down... thats a helluva lotta work youve put in :-D What do you think about using the refined hammer as a hunting weapon, as the wiki says it has the highest damage stat of all the (non-thrown) items? Also, what about the speargun, as its the same damage as a normal spear but has a stack size of 24? Cheers and happy hunting
What? You can use the refined hammer as a weapon? I had no idea... and the spear gun may allow you to stack a ton of arrows, but each arrow also takes more resources to craft than a crude spear.
@@agoork01 Ah sorry, seems that you cant use the hammer as a weapon despite it having a damage value on the wiki - gutted! I thought Id found a nice little trick there.
I love all your videos and I've watched them all over the last week. I got the game this month on the ps4 and bought it for pc because of your vids. Any chance you might do a tutorial on the cartographer and how to make a custom island?
Wasn't planning on doing any "how to build an island" type videos - as it is pretty complicated and time consuming on PC. Never say never though :) The console cartographer is much simpler and limiting in what you can do. I don't have a ps or xbox, so I can't do any videos on those.

You need a mouse that has a freely spinning mouse wheel like the Logitech G903 or similar. In your in game settings, you can set your forward or backwards movement to both the keyboard AND another input setting. So for the 2nd setting use the mouse wheel. That's it. Then just spin the wheel when you want to go fast. Speedy Deep just released a video where he explains it in greater detail, so go check his channel.
Oh, and apparently they patched this in the newest stable version of the game, so you may have to switch over to the Experimental branch or an older stable version for it to still work.
Ahaha, I think I know where you wish that horseshoe was firmly lodged... I don't have any better luck than you, I'm just not happy with runs I don't have good luck on, so I start over. My count of 5 and 6m "failed" runs because of a lack of leather or jerrycans is probably in the hundreds. I actually don't really care about the extra lashings, they're more important to make for crafting levels, in the run I"m posting on Sunday I get too many in crates and they not only clog up my inventories but also make it so I'm short on crafting xp when I'm going to make my fuel stills. I don't kill small crabs, not worth the time at this point in the progression of glitch runs. Dang dude, you almost chased abia off the location... that was suuuuper close. I've started quitting the run if I'm not asleep by 16m, I'm kinda surprised you kept going after the broken leg too, props for perseverance. OFC right after I type this I press play and you're like "I was considering stopping the run" lol. I knew that missing rock was gonna screw you over. Ok, ok, I'm not trying to be mean, and I have no right to talk after the run you'll see on Sunday, but how the hell was this sub 30m? Lol
Soooo..... What's the point? To prove you're better than everyone else? In my opinion, speed-runs seem to be more ego-centric than anything else. Maybe, I'm missing something. Oh, I'm sure I'll get some hate for this. Name calling and insults even. But, I don't understand the fad of speedrunning aside from, as I previously stated, personal ego to prove you're better than everyone else.
Don't know about others, but I do speed runs as a way of challenging myself - trying to beat the game in the shortest possible time. I have over 1,000 hours playing the game, so "normal" game play is not much of a challenge even on the hardest settings, or even when I force myself to live on a shipwreck and not build any structures on land. A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do in order to keep the game interesting.
Try a new game like everyone else? The way you talk about it, sounds closer to obsession. And, obsession is unhealthy. I'm just going on the way I do things. I wouldn't/couldn't put that much time into any game. I'd rather try many games over time than focus on one. That's just me. Keep getting Stranded. ✌👍
Every gamer has a personal preference. Some people (like speedrunners) like to master a few games, some people (like you) like playing as many as they can. You could call either one an obsession, when you get down to it. I don't do it competitively (because rampant noobitis!) but speedrunning is a really fun challenge. Especially in a game that is supposed to take a long time... The appeal of speedrunning is no different than the appeal of any sort of racing/sport. It's watching the best players/athletes/racecar drivers/etc being the best. Speedrunning is especially interesting because there's a visible progression. The record used to be over 3 hours, now it's under 30 minutes. All the little short cuts, glitches, strategies, etc found along the way are fascinating.
