Shave Off a Beard With a Straight Razor

+Shaving with Charky I would recommend the soap very highly. It's very piney. In fact, when my wife smelled me afterward, she said, "You smell like Christmas!"

+Rafael Melkumian I think "beard" is a pretty loose term, at least with most people I talk to. I've heard some use "beard" to just refer to the hair that grows on their face - no matter how long it is. It may be more of a cultural thing.

The Clean Shaver I just said that cuz i have a full grown beard (bout 8 months) and im poking fun at the video :)

+Brendan Carey I've used both. While shavettes vary in design and style, they are less forgiving than a regular straight razor. The reason why is that they use a manufactured blade that is made from very flimsy metal and the blade usually has more flexibility than a regular straight does, which makes it harder to control. You can get good shaves from shavettes, but I'd prefer straights to them. And then I'd prefer a DE over a straight. ;-)

+sykesmeoutjay Cover the puck with hot water and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. You can use the bloom water as a pre-shave.
