September 22nd, 1998. I would have been 12. What a wonderful song to bring out the nineties. This was the decade of innocence. Who could have thought that the new Millennium was going to be a little rough. This song reminds me of a better place in time for me.
Nice! I was 14. Brings back so many good and bad childhood memories. Idk how many times I just sat in my room and listened to his Souls Core album. He and Matthew Kahler are my all time favorites.
@@TheBoneheadpro where’s YOUR videos, stud? I bet you’re REALLY a great singer/musician.…so we’ll be waiting to see yours…bet we’ll have to wait forever.
@@BarneeFife Wow attacking people for their thoughts on music. Take your hate back to wherever you're from, HATE is over , some of you MAGAs haven't got the email, you will when your ORANGE GOD is meeting his jailhouse girlfriend.
I love this song I wish everything gonna be alright I lost .my best friend ,my soul mate of 28 years to leukemia and blood clot I been so lost without him I tried to move on but when I hear you sing this song thought moment I feel it will be alright .
I remember as a young teen if that old when this song came out local radio station had a late night request hour. I heard the number and called in on ym own and asked them to play "rockabye" they knew i mean lullaby lol. I laugh when I think about it now lol
I won a Radio contest here in Boston in the 90's and saw Shawn in person with Cher! LOL! The venue was small and there was a dance floor, it was called the "Jingle Bells Concert!" He was Great!!!
This is definitely Shawn's best performance of his song. He just owns it all the way! Awesome job Mr. Mullins and sorry I missed his Valentine concert 2013. Hope to catch him soon in concert!
I absolutely loved this version as a 13-16 year old. This soulful acoustic sound has been drowned out by all the "OK computers" in my country. The bigger the sound the better it must be...shame.
cuantos años sin escuchar este tema.... creo haber tenido unos 17 cuando la escuche y muy pocas veces la escuchado y hoty después de uno dos años bucandola me la encuentro sin querer... :)
This rendition is much better than the original track! He puts his heart & soul into this song. I've always loved it, though. Very uplifting & plain sweet.
@@corinnecorson3045 All I know is the guy with long brown hair stage left--David Patterson. We were in the 5th and 6th grade together in Savannah GA. I was shocked when I saw him in this video!! This is my favorite version of this song, sounds so rich with the mandolin and David's guitar!!
@@michaelhalas4287 Yes, this is a such a good version. I recently rediscovered Shawn Mullins. Not sure why he slipped out of my purview. All of the instruments add so much to this version, including the accordion. The other version I really like is a video on 2metersessions. His voice still has such an amazing and beautiful range. Thanks for responding.
There's another nice, acoustic version of this song on youtube ...search "mullins lullaby kfog". But the mandolin and accordion on this one lends an entirely different feel. Enjoyed it immensely - thanks for posting.
